[LVR - QB Marcus Mariota to miss a few more days](#15) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 1. [CIN - RB Joe Mixon absent Friday]( Source: ESPN.com - Ben Baby Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon (migraines) is out of practice again Friday, Aug. 28. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] There is some speculation that Mixon's absences are contract related as he and the team are in negotiations, but we'll consider the migraines legitimate until we have evidence otherwise. It's understandable to have a little pause about Mixon now, but it's also reasonable to leave him at his previous spot in your rankings. Giovani Bernard would be the starter if Mixon misses time, but Trayveon Williams would also get some work. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [TB - RB Ronald Jones dealing with injury]( Source: NFL.com Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Ronald Jones (foot) suffered a left foot injury during practice Friday, Aug. 28, but head coach Bruce Arians said he does not believe the injury is serious. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We'll trust Arians, but you can't put Jones Week 1 availability in pen yet. His practice status the week before the opener against the Saints will be crucial. If the Bucs do add a veteran back, that will be a bad sign for Jones. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [SF - TE George Kittle sits Friday](=) Source: NBC Sports Bay Area - Matt Maiocco San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle (hamstring) did not participate in practice Friday, Aug. 28. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Kittle can probably play through injuries with the best of them, but we'd prefer to see this rested leading into the season opener against Arizona. Hopefully we will see Kittle get in a full practice leading up to the game. He has already been playing with a torn labrum for over a year, so we won't ding Kittle's fantasy value on the news of this minor hamstring injury. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [MIA - WR DeVante Parker sits again]() Source: ESPN.com - Cameron Wolfe Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker (undisclosed) did not participate in practice Friday, Aug. 28. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Parker was in street clothes but with no apparent physical issue. Don't move him on your boards yet, but we'll be watching this. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [CIN - Limited practice for WR A.J. Green](=) Source: The Cincinnati Enquirer - Tyler Dragon Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (hamstring) was a limited participant in practice Friday, Aug. 28. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Limited is better than out, so this helps the case of taking Green if he is falling a few rounds past where he was going before camp. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [BUF - RB Devin Singletary battling fumbleits]() Source: The Athletic - Joe Buscaglia Buffalo Bills RB Devin Singletary has been hampered by 'fumbling issues' in training camp, according to a team beat reporter. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Singletary hasn't built momentum in a camp that was supposed to see him become a bigger part of the passing game. It's not crazy to have him equal to or below rookie Zack Moss in redraft rankings. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [TEN - WR A.J. Brown leaves early](=) Source: TennesseeTitans.com - Jim Wyatt Tennessee Titans WR A.J. Brown (undisclosed) left practice early Friday, Aug. 28, but it is not known if he left because of an injury. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Brown jogged toward the locker room so it doesn't appear that there's anything to worry about, but we will monitor the situation. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [CHI - Artavis Pierce has a chance](=) Source: Chicago Tribune - Brad Biggs Chicago Bears RB Artavis Pierce is the most traditional running back behind RB David Montgomery (groin), who is out two to four weeks. 'He's quicker than fast,' one national scout said. 'I didn't see the timed speed on tape. He plays more in the 4.5 range, which is fine. He has speed through the hole through to the second level, and that's what is most important. He moves well laterally. But this kid isn't going to break tackles like Montgomery. Not a pass catcher, at least how they utilized him. He might have a chance.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Pierce could lead a split backfield in touches in Week 1 against Detroit, although if David Montgomery is going to miss extended time, the Bears would likely look to the free agent list for help. Pierce should at least be on deep dynasty radar now. [Get the Rookie Scouting Portfolio here](. --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [WAS - Coach keeping QB timeline secret]() Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Josh Alper Washington Football Team head coach Ron Rivera says he has a timeline on when he'll make a starting quarterback decision from candidates Dwayne Haskins, Alex Smith and Kyle Allen, but refused to share the specific details of that timeline Friday, Aug. 28, during a media videoconference. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Haskins is going to be the starter, no matter how much gamesmanship Rivera wants to employ. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [CLE - WR Jarvis Landry misses practice]() Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot Cleveland Browns WR Jarvis Landry (hip) did not participate in practice Friday, Aug. 28. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Landry is being brought along slowly after offseason hip surgery and might not be full speed for the season opener against the Ravens, which is a poor matchup for wide receivers anyway. Don't draft him with the intention of starting him right away if you can help it. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [DEN - Coach: ILB Todd Davis expected soon]() Source: Ryan Koenigsberg - DNVR.com Denver Broncos LB Todd Davis (calf) isn't expected to be sidelined long with his current calf injury. 'It's nowhere near the calf injury he had last year,' head coach Vic Fangio said Friday, Aug. 28. ' I think we'll see him out there sooner rather than later.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Broncos are hoping Davis can get back on the field for the Week 1 matchup against Derrick Henry and the Titans. If he's out, upgrade Henry in DFS. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [DAL - La'el Collins takes part in team drills]( Source: ESPN.com - Todd Archer Dallas Cowboys OT La'el Collins (undisclosed) on Friday, Aug. 28, participated in 11-on-11 team drills for the first time in training camp after being sidelined with 'minor wear and tear issues,' according to a team beat reporter. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Cowboys are thin at offensive tackle and really need Collins and Tyron Smith to stay healthy for this offense to hit its peak expectations. This is a good development, but we need to see Collins and Smith hold up under the punishment of the first few weeks back on the field. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [DEN - Elijah Wilkinson still top option at RT](=) Source: 9News.com - Mike Klis Denver Broncos OT Elijah Wilkinson is still considered the leading candidate for the starting right tackle position even though OT Demar Dotson received some snaps with the first-team offense during practice Friday, Aug. 28. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Dotson gives the team good veteran depth at right tackle after Ju'Wuan James opted out, even if Wilkinson is up to the task of starting. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [TB - ILB Lavonte David extension talks ongoing](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Tampa Bay Buccaneers LB Lavonte David has been in negotiations on an extension recently. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] David is a cornerstone of the defense and the Bucs have been committed to keeping the defense together for a potential Super Bowl run. He'll be a free agent next year and the Bucs might feel like it's better to secure his services now even though the free agent market might yield some bargains with the cap staying flat or going down next year. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 15. [LVR - QB Marcus Mariota to miss a few more days](=) Source: The Athletic - Vic Tafur Las Vegas Raiders QB Marcus Mariota (undisclosed) did not participate in practice Friday, Aug. 28, but probably will only miss a few more days, according to head coach Jon Gruden. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Mariota hasn't been pushing Derek Carr so this doesn't really matter in the big picture. No quarterback competition has materialized in Las Vegas. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- That'll do it for this weekend.
