[TB - Spencer Schnell joins Bucs](#15) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 1. [CLE - QB guarantees better chemistry with OBJ]( Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Charean Williams Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield believes he is 'on the same page' with Odell Beckham Jr. and that both players are 'in a better state' after the team dealt with a lot of adversity last season.'(Our chemistry) is sure ... going to be a lot better than last year. We're just on the same page, things we talked about. There was a lot going on within the building last year. We're not going to get into that, but we're both in a better state. He's healthy; surgery was successful, thank God. He's feeling great. He's in a great state of mind,' Mayfield told NFL Media. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Better chemistry will come with better protection...at least that's what the Browns are banking on and that's why they went out and spent resources to improve the guys blocking for Mayfield up front. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [ARI - RB Kenyan Drake in a boot]( Source: The Arizona Republic - Bob McManaman Arizona Cardinals RB Kenyan Drake (lower body) was spotted wearing a walking boot Monday, Aug. 24. Head coach Kliff Kingsbury deemed it 'more precautionary than anything' but declined to answer any other questions on the topic. Drake later said, "Was in a walking (boot) around this time last summer too. Just trying to stay consistent lol no worries I'm good." [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This is a situation all Fantasy GMs need to monitor. Drake took to social networking on Monday to say he's fine, so most think he'll be good to go for the start of the regular season. The Cardinals should have one of the most explosive offenses in the league with Drake as their featured back. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [LAC - WR Mike Williams week to week]( Source: ESPN.com Los Angeles Chargers WR [Mike Williams](=) (shoulder) is considered week to week with a sprained AC joint in his shoulder. He's expected to be ready for the season opener. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Keep an eye on this situation with the regular season drawing near. Williams should be ready for Week 1 but he may not be himself. He has a current ADP of WR59 (13.09) in 12-team PPR leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [BAL - QB Lamar Jackson back at practice](=) Source: BaltimoreRavens.com Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson (groin) returned to practice Monday, Aug. 24. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Jackson has missed the last two days of practice with a groin strain. The Ravens will likely take it easy on Jackon during Monday's practice. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [LVR - WR Tyrell Williams has torn labrum](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Las Vegas Raiders WR Tyrell Williams (shoulder) has a torn labrum in his shoulder but will try to play through the injury after a few weeks of rehab, according to sources. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] That's not a recipe for success. Williams struggled with a foot injury last year and will try to do the same this year but with a different injury. We should see the Raiders get more out of Henry Ruggs, Bryan Edwards and Hunter Renfrow with Williams banged up and not at 100 percent. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [MIA - Tua Tagovailoa not a lock to be the backup?](=) Source: The Miami Herald - Armando Salguero Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa is in a competition for the No. 2 quarterback job behind Ryan Fitzpatrick with Josh Rosen, and the 'chances are greater' that Rosen will begin the season in that role unless Tagovailoa 'suddenly starts doing some magical things he hasn't shown yet,' in the opinion of the Miami Herald's Armando Salguero. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Tagovailoa is supposed to be the franchise quarterback that the Dolphins have been searching for since the days of Dan Marino. Rosen is a former first-round pick who is on his second team in only a couple of years. Behind the scenes with the Dolphins last year, Rosen was known as a hard worker but when he stepped onto the field to start in 2019 it was met with disastrous results. Tagovailoa should have no problem beating out Rosen but it sounds like that's not a done deal just yet. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [KC - WR Tyreek Hill does minimal work](=) Source: Kansas City Star - Herbie Teope Kansas City Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill (hamstring) did some stretching and conditioning in practice Monday, Aug. 24. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hill doesn't need a ton of reps in training camp. A speedy receiver like Hill can be especially slowed down with a pesky hamstring injury. Watch the Chiefs ease him back slowly. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [WAS - Chase Young returns to practice]() Source: NBC Sports Washington - JP Finlay Washington Football Team DE Chase Young (hip) participated in team drills during practice Monday, Aug. 24. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Young has been frustrated with this injury but it just shows how much he wants to go out there and dominate. He has the makings of a Pro Bowl player in his rookie season and could be a cornerstone for the Washington Football Team for years to come. [MIA - Curtis Weaver waived/injured]( Source: ESPN.com - Field Yates Miami Dolphins DE Curtis Weaver (undisclosed) was waived Monday, Aug. 24, with an injury designation. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] He's got what reports are indicating is a serious foot issue. Weaver has talent and flashed on film in college at Boise State. Some felt he would be drafted much, much sooner but Weaver fell to the fifth round of the 2020 NFL draft. He will revert to injured reserve once he clears waivers. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [NYG - WR Darius Slayton not on field]() Source: ESPN.com - Jordan Raanan New York Giants WR Darius Slayton (undisclosed) did not participate in practice Monday, Aug. 24. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We'll see what the news is on Slayton when the undisclosed reason he missed practice is revealed. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [PIT - WR Diontae Johnson still not ready](=) Source: DKPittsburghSports.com - Dale Lolley Pittsburgh Steelers WR Diontae Johnson (leg) missed a fifth consecutive practice with what is reportedly a calf issue Monday, Aug. 24. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Johnson has a ton of speed and this calf injury can really slow him down. We're concerned about his injury not only because he's missing time and missing out on building chemistry with QB Ben Roethlisberger but also because the Steelers have a talented group of receivers around him. With Johnson missing time it could help elevate a guy like Chase Claypool or James Washington. Stay tuned. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [NE - Gunner Olszewski cementing roster spot](=) Source: NESN.com - Doug Kyed New England Patriots WR Gunner Olszewski 'has looked like the second-best receiver in camp behind Julian Edelman,' according to NESN's Doug Kyed. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] That's not a great thing for the rest of the Patriots wide receiver room. If he does perform like the second-best receiver behind Edelman, Olszewski will have fantasy relevance in a Cam Newton-led passing attack. He's currently not getting drafted but keep him on your waiver-wire speed dial just in case. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [SEA - WR Phillip Dorsett dealing with sore foot]() Source: The Tacoma News Tribune - Gregg Bell Seattle Seahawks WR Phillip Dorsett (foot) will be held out of practice due to a sore foot Monday, Aug. 24, according to head coach Pete Carroll. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] A foot injury can be especially devastating for a speed receiver like Dorsett. Seattle will ease him back slowly. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [MIA - WR Preston Williams feeling confident in knee]() Source: ESPN.com - Cameron Wolfe Miami Dolphins WR Preston Williams (knee) told reporters Monday, Aug. 24, he knew his surgically repaired knee was healthy this summer and that he feels good at the moment. According to ESPN's Cameron Wolfe, Williams 'looks like he's in the midst of a breakout so far in camp.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Williams looked great last year for half the season. Then his knee injury hit and cost him the rest of the year. He has a great size/speed combination and could easily outplay his current ADP of WR56 (13.01) in 12-team PPR leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 15. [TB - Spencer Schnell joins Bucs]() Source: Tampa Bay Times - Rick Stroud Free-agent WR Spencer Schnell (Buccaneers) agreed to terms with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Monday, Aug. 24. Terms of the contract were not disclosed. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Schnell was on the team's practice squad for most of last year after coming into the league as an undrafted free agent from Illinois State. He was released at the beginning of August but is back in the fold as a long-shot for the final roster now.
