[PHI - Doug Pederson cleared]( Source: NBC Sports Philadelphia - John Clark Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson has cleared COVID-19 protocols and is back with the team Wednesday, Aug. 12. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Pederson quarantined after testing positive around two weeks ago. He was able to stay tuned virtually to what was going on while Duce Staley ran the show at the facility. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [IND - WR T.Y. Hilton activated](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Indianapolis Colts WR T.Y. Hilton (hamstring) passed his physical Wednesday, Aug. 12, and was activated from the active/Non-Football Injury list. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hilton is set for a large role (again) in the Colts passing attack. QB Philip Rivers should learn to love throwing to Hilton on deep routes. In the final year of his contract, Hilton is playing for a big pay day if he can stay healthy and play up to his potential. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [SF - SF, TE George Kittle making progress]() Source: NBC Sports Bay Area - Matt Maiocco San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle has made healthy progress in contract extension talks with the 49ers, but the two sides have not reached an agreement at this point, according to sources. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The two sides continue to work on a new contract for Kittle. Not only will Kittle likely be the highest-paid tight end in the league, he could approach wide receiver money with his new contract. We'll see if they can get something done before the start of the regular season. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [ATL - RB Todd Gurley may be limited early](=) Source: ESPN.com - Vaughn McClure Atlanta Falcons RB Todd Gurley (knee) may be limited during practice at the start of training camp since he has dealt with a knee injury. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Gurley is a seasoned veteran who doesn't need a ton of work in training camp. It's just wise for the Falcons to ease him into action as they prepare for the regular season. His current ADP is RB15 (2.11) in 12-team PPR leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [BUF - WR Cole Beasley cleared to practice]( Source: The Buffalo News - Vic Carucci Buffalo Bills WR Cole Beasley (back) passed his physical Wednesday, Aug. 12, and has been activated from the Active/Non-Football Injury list. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Beasley is good to go for padded practices later this week. He's got 'what the heck' flex appeal in PPR leagues. The Bills passing game should go through WRs Stefon Diggs and John Brown. Beasley will clean up after that in the slot. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [IND - Indianapolis may use hot hand at RB]( Source: The Athletic - Zak Keefer Indianapolis Colts RB Marlon Mack will be the starting running back this season, but the team will not be afraid of using the hot hand at the position, according to head coach Frank Reich. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] In other news, water is wet. The Colts have too much firepower in the backfield with Marlon Mack, Jonathan Taylor and Nyheim Hines. Mack and Taylor can handle the heavy lifting on rushing downs, and Hines can make plays on passing downs as a receiver out of the backfield. All the backs have talent in their roles, but Fantasy GMs will have to be careful navigating this 'hot hand' approach. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [LVR - WR Tyrell Williams improving](=) Source: The Athletic - Vic Tafur Las Vegas Raiders WR Tyrell Williams (feet) is 'over the hump' with his plantar fasciitis issue but is continuing to do daily maintenance. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Williams is not a no.1 receiver and he's got to be healthy. Last year, Williams saw top coverage as the no.1 receiver for the Raiders and he was banged up. Now healthy and the no.2 receiver, Williams should be a more consistent performer...but not terribly exciting for Fantasy GMs. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [LVR - WR Nelson Agholor to play big role?](=) Source: The Athletic - Vic Tafur Las Vegas Raiders WR Nelson Agholor will 'do enough in this offense to make fantasy owners of (Henry) Ruggs, (Tyrell) Williams and (Hunter) Renfrow upset,' according to Vic Tafur of The Athletic Wednesday, Aug. 12. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Let's not get too excited about Agholor just yet. Ruggs should be the top receiver for the Raiders this year, operating (most of the time?) from the slot. Williams should be the second-leading receiver so long as he can stay healthy. Renfrow is a great slot receiver but Ruggs could steal a lot of time from him there. That leaves Agholor as potentially another outside receiver. Fantasy GMs should not get too excited about anyone in this group except for Ruggs. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [CIN - WR John Ross leaves for family matter]() Source: NFL Network - Mike Garafolo and Tom Pelissero Cincinnati Bengals WR John Ross left camp Wednesday, Aug. 12, after his young son and the boy's mother tested positive for COVID-19, according to sources. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Ross is putting family first as he should. We should see him back in action by the time the regular season rolls around. Ross has speed, speed and more speed to his game. He'll compete for the no.3 spot on the depth chart behind A.J. Green and Tyler Boyd. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [LVR - RB Josh Jacobs targeting 60 receptions](=) Source: ESPN.com - Paul Gutierrez Las Vegas Raiders RB Josh Jacobs said Wednesday, Aug. 12, his goal for 2020 is to catch 'at least 60 balls.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Jacobs has the ability to be a three-down back in the NFL. The Raiders offense is going to flow through the second-year back. He's got a current ADP of RB8 (1.11) in 12-team PPR leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- FOOTBALLGUYS PICKS Know the 2020 Rookies - Our friend Matt Waldman dives deep into NFL Draft Prospects with a Fantasy Football lens. [Get the Rookie Scouting Portfolio here](. --------------------------------------------------------------- Looking for even more FF Content? - Matthew Berry's Rotopass bundles Footballguys, Rotowire, Rotoviz apps, and more. [Check it out here](. --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [DAL - QB Dak Prescott optimistic about contract](=) Source: ESPN.com - Todd Archer Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott said he is optimistic that he will be able to reach a long-term agreement with the Cowboys after the 2020 season. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Prescott is playing on the one-year franchise tag in 2020. The two sides were unable to come to an agreement before the mid-July deadline. Prescott's deal won't be what Patrick Mahomes got from the Chiefs, but it will make him one of the highest paid quarterbacks in the league. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [NYJ - Le'Veon Bell looking to play at lower weight]( Source: New York Daily News - Manish Mehta New York Jets RB Le'Veon Bell said he wants to stay around 210 to 215 pounds this season and that he improved his conditioning this offseason. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Bell wants to get his game back on track. He said he feels the best he has in his career and expects a lot from himself in 2020. Bell should produce as a RB2 or at least a flex play for Fantasy GMs this year. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [SEA - TE Will Dissly practices]() Source: The Seattle Times - Bob Condotta Seattle Seahawks TE Will Dissly (Achilles) practiced Wednesday, Aug. 12. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Dissly has flashed talent but has gotten hurt each of the last two years. We'll see if he can stay healthy and how he works behind veteran free agent addition Greg Olsen in 2020. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [LAR - Sean McVay sought for TV gig](=) Source: New York Post - Andrew Marchand Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay was approached by ESPN in an attempt to lure him from coaching to the broadcast booth in the offseason. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] McVay seems to be bound for the TV booth someday...but first he's after Super Bowl championships. He's likely to be coaching for some time and as long as he doesn't burn out, McVay will be on the sidelines and not in the booth. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 15. [BUF - Sean McDermott receives extension](=) Source: BuffaloBills.com - Chris Brown Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott signed a multi-year contract extension with the Bills Wednesday, Aug. 12. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] He's now under contract through the 2025 season. McDermott showed up from day one and gave the Bills a new direction. They are contenders under McDermott and set to make a deep playoff run in 2020. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 16. [SF - RB Tavon Austin to work out for SF](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo Free-agent WR Tavon Austin (Cowboys) is scheduled to work out for the San Francisco 49ers and hopes to sign with the team, according to sources. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The 49ers WR corps is a bit thin due to injury and opting out. Austin can work from all over the field and on special teams. We'll see if he can find a new home with the 49ers or another team in the near future. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 17. [BAL - RB Kenjon Barner signs with Ravens]() Source: BaltimoreRavens.com Free-agent RB Kenjon Barner (Falcons) agreed to an undisclosed deal with the Baltimore Ravens Wednesday, Aug. 12. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Ravens already have a packed backfield, so Barner is up against it when it comes to making the 53-man roster. Barner has good receiving ability and can play on special teams so those are the ways he has to shine to make the team. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 18. [ARI - Kelly Bryant to work out for Arizona]() Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero Undrafted free-agent QB Kelly Bryant will visit the Arizona Cardinals for a workout, according to a source Wednesday, Aug. 12. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Bryant was a transfer from Clemson who finished his college career at Missouri. He followed up Drew Lock for the Tigers but did not produce at a high level. He's a dual-threat quarterback at the next level...if he can latch on with a team. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 19. [JAX - K'Lavon Chaisson has hamstring issue](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Jacksonville Jaguars LB K'Lavon Chaisson (hamstring) will work off to the side Wednesday, Aug. 12, due to a minor hamstring issue. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hamstring injuries can slow down pass-rushers like Chaisson. The rookie has a ton of burst off the edge when it comes to getting after the quarterback. The Jaguars will wisely be cautious with him. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 20. [PIT - RB James Conner never considered opting out]( Source: ESPN - Brooke Pryor Pittsburgh Steelers RB James Conner said Wednesday, Aug. 12, he never considered opting out, despite the fact he's a high-risk player as a cancer survivor. 'Going on four years now removed from cancer,' Conner said. 'I didn't really have to talk to my family. It was never a concern for me. I've been healthy for years now. It was an easy decision for me. I never really gave much thought to it. I'm healthy and my immune system is back healthy. I'm not worried.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Conner is a high-risk player but wanted to get out there and play. He'll be the lead back for the Steelers this year but we could see guys like Anthony McFarland mixed in as Pittsburgh might use more of a RBBC than some think.
