[CIN - Cincinnati expected to add Brandon Allen](#10) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 1. [KC - RB Damien Williams will not play in 2020]() Source: Chiefs.com Kansas City Chiefs RB [Damien Williams](=) has decided to opt out of the 2020 season. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Williams was set to be a big part of what the Chiefs do at the running back position. Now, rookie first-round pick Clyde Edwards-Helaire will be the primary back for the Chiefs and won't be splitting time with Williams. Fantasy GMs have moved the needle already, and Edwards-Helaire should be a first round pick in every draft from here on out. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [MIA - Tua Tagovailoa cleared]( Source: The Miami Herald - Barry Jackson Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa (hip) has been cleared to practice without limitations, according to head coach Brian Flores. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Tagovailoa could be the franchise quarterback the Dolphins have been searching for since the days of Dan Marino. Now cleared for all football activities, Tagovailoa will compete with veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick for the starting job. While Fitzpatrick has a ton of experience, he's no match for the skill level of Tagovailoa. We could see the rookie first-round pick starting for the Dolphins near the start (or right at the start) of the regular season. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [TB - QB Tom Brady well ahead of curve](=) Source: MassLive.com - Chris Mason Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB [Tom Brady](=) is 'way ahead of the curve,' according to head coach Bruce Arians. 'He's a very bright guy - the terminology was the big thing,' Arians said. 'As we now get together starting tomorrow, we'll start to collaborate a little bit more. So yeah, I think he's in a great spot right now as far as that goes.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Buccaneers should be able to get off to a hot start with Brady leading the way. Arians has a scheme that gets downfield aggressively and Brady, while lacking a rocket arm, is one of the best deep-ball passers in the league. The combination of Arians/Brady should be fruitful in terms of wins in 2020. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [SF - TE George Kittle not close to deal](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport San Francisco 49ers TE [George Kittle](=) isn't particularly close to a deal, according to sources. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Kittle is in the final year of his rookie deal and the two sides have been talking. He showed up to training camp, so there is no holdout situation and we all know it's just a matter of time before the 49ers make Kittle the highest-paid tight end in the league. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [DET - TE T.J. Hockenson on COVID list]( Source: NFLCommunications.com Detroit Lions TE [T.J. Hockenson](=) was placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, July 29. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hockenson will have to pass tests after a quarantine period in order to get on the field for practice. He's got plenty of upside but only flashed for a game or so as a rookie in 2019. Hockenson is a TE2 for Fantasy GMs as we all wait for him to play up to that potential. [SF - S John Lynch agrees to extension]() Source: NFL Network - Mike Garafolo Updating previous reports, San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch agreed to terms Wednesday, July 29, on a contract extension, according to sources. The deal is expected to be five years in length, and the specific contract language is being finalized. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The 49ers extended head coach Kyle Shanahan earlier and now Lynch gets his extension. Lynch is now linked to the team through 2025, and he's become one of the best general managers in the game. The 49ers are in Super Bowl contention, in large part due to the efforts of Lynch and Shanahan when it comes to building a team with quality talent. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [DET - WR Kenny Golladay placed on COVID list]( Source: NFLCommunications.com Detroit Lions WR [Kenny Golladay](=) was placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, July 29. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Golladay, like all other players on the Reserve/COVID-19 list, will have to pass testing to get back to the practice field after a quarantine period. He'll be a primary target once again in the Lions passing attack and a borderline WR1 for Fantasy GMs in 2020. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [BUF - WR Cole Beasley on NFI list]() Source: Sirius XM NFL Radio - Adam Caplan Buffalo Bills WR [Cole Beasley](=) (back) was placed on the Active/Non-Football Injury list Wednesday, July 29. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Reports indicate that Beasley should be back in action soon. He'll work as the slot receiver with Stefon Diggs and John Brown doing work on the outside. Beasley has some flex appeal in deep PPR leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [NFL - Caleb Farley to sit out college season]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Virginia Tech CB Caleb Farley has decided to sit out the 2020 college football season and will spend the year preparing for the 2021 NFL Draft, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Farley is one of the best corners in the nation and was working his way towards a potential selection in the first round. We'll see how this decision impacts his draft stock, and then we'll see if more college prospects opt out in order to prepare for their professional careers. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [CIN - Cincinnati expected to add Brandon Allen]() Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero Free-agent QB [Brandon Allen](=) (Broncos) is expected to sign with the Cincinnati Bengals this weekend, according to a source. He is undergoing a physical and COVID-19 testing with the team. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Allen did start a couple of games for the Broncos last year and was not good. He's a veteran with some experience but really a camp arm and that's about it. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- That'll do it for today, Folks.
