[NE - New England optimistic in QB Cam Newton's health](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport New England Patriots QB [Cam Newton]( is in town to complete his physical Saturday, July 4 - a process that will reportedly take a few days to complete - but the team is 'confident in his condition' and 'no issues at all are anticipated on his physical,' according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Newton missed most of the 2019 season with a foot injury he suffered in the preseason (against the Patriots). They'll be taking a look at that, but also his shoulder injury that has been an issue during his career. With almost a full year off to get healthy, Newton could look like his old self with his new team. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [BUF - Jake Fromm an underdog for No. 2 job](=) Source: BillsWire - Nick Wojton Buffalo Bills QB Jake Fromm probably will be an underdog for the No. 2 quarterback during training camp since he did not have any practice this offseason and because QB [Matt Barkley]( has a better understanding of the offense. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] That sounds about right for the 2020 fifth-round pick. Fromm was a three-year starter in college at Georgia and known as a game manager as a quarterback. He lacks impressive physical skills but he's an accurate passer who does a good job of leading his receivers. Fromm has the makings of a capable reserve quarterback for his NFL career. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [MIA - RB Jordan Howard to be busy?]( Source: ESPN.com - Cameron Wolfe Miami Dolphins RB [Jordan Howard]( could 'come close to doubling' the number of carries RB [Matt Breida]( will receive, according to Cameron Wolfe of ESPN.com. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Wolfe is one of the best Dolphins beat writers, so we're certainly paying attention to this report. Howard should be the lead back and by a wide margin when it comes to carries. Breida can work as a change-of-pace back and should be the primary pass-catching back in 2020. His current ADP is RB34 (7.06) in 12-team PPR leagues. [DET - D'Andre Swift signs rookie deal]() Source: NFL.com Detroit Lions second-round draft choice RB D'Andre Swift signed a four-year contract with the Lions Saturday, July 4. Financial terms were not disclosed. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Swift was arguably the best running back in this draft class. He wasn't the first off the board, but the Lions were happy to scoop him up in the second round of the 2020 NFL draft. Swift is an efficient runner with over 31 percent of his 441 career carries went for a first down or a touchdown (per PFF). He's also a great receiving back, out of the backfield or even lined up out wide. Swift should be the lead back for the Lions and has RB2 upside for Fantasy GMs. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [BUF - Zack Moss to bring thump to backfield]() Source: BuffaloBills.com - Maddy Glab Buffalo Bills RB Zack Moss is expected to play a role similar to the one that [Frank Gore]( enjoyed in 2019, according to general manager Brandon Beane. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The rookie from Utah reminds some in the scouting community of Browns RB Kareem Hunt. Moss is incredibly elusive and fun to watch with the rock in his hands. He's got a low center of gravity and great footwork which allows him to change direction on a dime. Moss is a work-in-progress as a receiver and will work as the no.2 back behind second-year pro Devin Singletary in 2020. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [BUF - Gabriel Davis to make immediate contribution?]() Source: BuffaloBills.com - Maddy Glab Buffalo Bills WR Gabriel Davis could be 'a plug-and-play weapon' for the team this season, according to Maddy Glab of the team's website. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Davis is a big-bodied deep threat on the football field. In college at UCF, Davis compiled 620 receiving yards (out of 1,241 in 2019) on deep passes -- a mark good for no.4 in the FBS. He's limited as a route runner but has the speed to take the top off the defense. We're excited about Davis from a dynasty perspective.
