[Quality Starts: Wide Receivers]() "Quality Starts" is a term pioneered from the Fantasy Baseball gurus. Jeff Pasquino brings it to Football and in this one, applies it to wide receivers. [] INSIDE THIS ISSUE 1. [DAL - QB Dak Prescott signed lofty tag](#1) 2. [DAL - QB Dak Prescott signed lofty tag]( Source: The Dallas Morning News - Calvin Watkins Updating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys QB [Dak Prescott]( signed the exclusive franchise tag, which was worth $31.4 million. The sides have until July 15 to sign a long-term deal. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The team could open up enough cap room to trade for Jamal Adams and sign him to an extension if they also sign Prescott long term and lower his 2020 cap number. Prescott could also see a window to maximize his earnings if he thinks the cap will flatten or even go lower because of coronavirus effects on league revenues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [NFL - WR Antonio Brown drawing interest from Seahawks, Ravens]( Source: NFL Network - Michael Silver Free-agent WR [Antonio Brown]( (Patriots) is drawing interest from the Seattle Seahawks and Baltimore Ravens, who've both had internal discussions about signing the receiver. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The writing is on the wall that Brown is going to playing again as soon as the league is ready to decide whether he will be suspended and for how long. Brown's speculative value in dynasty and redraft leagues is about to go up, and perhaps Russell Wilson's with it. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [PIT - QB Ben Roethlisberger's progress pleasing team staff]( Source: Pittsburgh Post-Gazette - Gerry Dulac Pittsburgh Steelers QB [Ben Roethlisberger]( (elbow) has impressed coaches and doctors with his progress from last year's season-ending injury, according to head coach Mike Tomlin Tuesday, June 23. 'He's comfortable and pleased where he is,' Tomlin said. 'Some people who had the opportunity to work with him are impressed and pleased where he is. The medical experts are comfortable where he is and his readiness for 2020.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Roethlisberger's elbow is the key to the Steelers offense this year. If it's sound, then James Conner and Juju Smith-Schuster will be good value picks, and probably at least one other Steelers passcatcher, and of course Roethlisberger himself. Hopefully we will get to see Roethlisberger play once in the preseason, but it's not assured, especially if it's shortened. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [LAR - QB Jared Goff challenged to take ownership of offense]() Source: TheRams.com - Stu Jackson Los Angeles Rams QB [Jared Goff]( needs to take ownership of the offense, according to offensive coordinator Kevin O'Connell. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The new offensive coordinator is sending a bit of message here that Goff needs to improve, but the offense functioned a lot better in December once they got past the tough defenses on their schedule, and the offensive line could be better this year. Goff is only a matchup play in typical one quarterback leagues. He could be a value in two quarterback/superflex leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [PIT - Offensive line taking shape?]( Source: Pittsburgh Post-Gazette - Gerry Dulac Pittsburgh Steelers OT Matt Feiler will begin training camp at left guard, according to head coach Mike Tomlin Tuesday, June 23. OLs Zach Banner and Chukwuma Okorafor will compete for the right tackle spot, but they could move depending on whether they're better at RT than Stefen Wisniewski is at LG. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Steelers lost BJ Finney to Seattle in free agency this offseason, so Feiler will compete with Wisniewski to replace the retiring Ramon Foster at left guard. Banner and Okorafor are both viable options at right tackle and if Feiler is their best option at left guard, it gives the team the option of using Wisniewski as depth instead of relying on him as a starter. The Steelers offensive line has some settling to do in camp, but they are flexible and should have quality depth. [LVR - Nick O'Leary recovering from heart surgery]() Source: Palm Beach Post - Tom D'Angelo Las Vegas Raiders TE Nick O'Leary (heart) underwent two procedures last month after being diagnosed with 100 percent blockage on the right side of his heart. He is expected to make a full recovery and hopes to return to play in the 2021 season. 'I feel good,' O'Leary said. 'I feel better than I did before. I've got to be on blood thinners for six months to a year. That's really the only reason now why I can't play football. If I (got cut), they said that would be the biggest problem, wouldn't be able to stop the bleeding.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Raiders put him on the reserve/non-football injury list and he said they told him they will "leave the door open" for him next year. O'Leary had pain in his left arm that moved to his chest while working out and playing pickleball and doctors told him it was a heart attack. Make sure to have any symptoms like the ones he had checked out, as O'Leary is 27 and obviously physically fit. If it can happen to him, it can happen to any of us. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [DAL - QB Dak Prescott on historic production pace]( Source: ESPN Stats and Information Dallas Cowboys QB [Dak Prescott]( is just the seventh quarterback ever with at least 90 touchdown passes and 20 rushing touchdowns over a four-season span. He is the first QB to accomplish the feat in his first four seasons. He has 97 career touchdown passes and 21 rushing TDs. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Prescott could set a career high in passing touchdowns this year with the addition of Ceedee Lamb to the passing game. He should have the highest ADP in fantasy drafts of his career this year. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [SF - Trent Williams can't be franchise tagged again]() Source: ESPN.com - Field Yates Updating a previous story, San Francisco 49ers OT Trent Williams cannot be franchise tagged after the 2020 season as part of his reworked contract, according to a source Tuesday, June 23. Both sides still want to get a long-term contract signed. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Williams recently passed a physical and will be taking the torch from Joe Staley, who retired this offseason. The 49ers offense shouldn't miss a beat as Williams gets a fresh start after everything went south in his relationship with Washington. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [JAX - Teammate praises QB Gardner Minshew's initiative]( Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Curtis Crabtree Jacksonville Jaguars QB [Gardner Minshew]( has reportedly organized video sessions with his teammates - in addition to the regular virtual OTA meetings run by the coaches - as players try to work through the offense together remotely, according to TE [Tyler Eifert](.'(Minshew) took charge, took initiative during the OTAs to get the guys together aside from our OTA meetings. We'd get on and do like a virtual walkthrough. It's just good to learn a little bit different than just looking at your installs and trying to memorize it. You've got to think on your feet a little bit,' Eifert told Sirius XM NFL Radio. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Minshew looked to be in better shape than last year in recent videos too. This is his chance to establish himself as a starting quality NFL quarterback if not for the Jaguars, for 31 other teams if the Jaguars take a quarterback early next year. His dynasty value in superflex leagues hangs in the balance. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [DET - New Lions owner would support QB Colin Kaepernick signing]() Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Michael David Smith Free-agent QB [Colin Kaepernick]( (49ers) would be supported by new Detroit Lions principal owner Sheila Ford Hamp if general manager Bob Quinn and the coaching staff choose to sign him, Hamp said Tuesday, June 23. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Lions gave Chase Daniel five million dollars guaranteed on a three-year, $13 million dollar deal and they still like David Blough as a developmental third quarterback, but Kaepernick would probably be an upgrade from Daniel if Stafford's presents issues again. It looks more and more like Kaepernick will be signed somewhere every day. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- That'll do it for today, Folks.
