[LAR - WR Cooper Kupp terrific in slot position]() Source: ProFootballFocus.com Los Angeles Rams WR [Cooper Kupp]( caught 69 passes while lined up as the slot receiver during the 2019 season, which was tied for the most among wide receivers. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Kupp was used less in the second half of the season as the Rams went with more two tight end sets. It's not clear whether the offense will lean more towards two tight end or three wide receiver sets in 2020, but Kupp's numbers are likely to be down from 2019 levels in any event. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [NYJ - ILB C.J. Mosley may be eased back]( Source: ESPN.com - Rich Cimini New York Jets LB C.J. Mosley (groin) could be eased back into practice during the early part of training camp even though he has been cleared for football activities, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Rich Cimini. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Jets defense was a better unit with Mosley out there last year, even though it was only a partial game. He should be considered a strong LB1 in IDP leagues even though he carries some additional injury risk after missing most of 2019. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [NE - RB Damien Harris may be busy at camp](=) Source: ESPN.com - Mike Reiss New England Patriots RB [Damien Harris]( could receive a lot of snaps during the early part of training camp because RB [Sony Michel]( (foot) will be recovering from foot surgery. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Bill Belichick might have drafted Harris in the third round last year knowing the Michel's ability to play at a high level was winding down. Harris is a solid all-around back, but probably won't pull away from Rex Burkhead if Michel's return is delayed. The Patriots offense doesn't seem like a good place to mine for fantasy gold this year. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [NFL - QB Christian Hackenberg changing sports]( Source: NBC Sports Philadelphia - John Clark Free-agent QB Christian Hackenberg (AAF) said that he has moved on from football and is now attempting to begin a career in professional baseball as a pitcher. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Drew Henson was once a top baseball prospect and football prospect, but played baseball first and then ended up being traded from the Texans, who took him in the sixth round, to the Cowboys for a third-round pick. Hackenberg is going in the opposite order and was once a top high school baseball player at Fork Union Military Academy. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [TEN - Dennis Kelly may be top option at RT](=) Source: TennesseeTitans.com - Jim Wyatt Tennessee Titans OT Dennis Kelly likely will be the leading candidate for the right tackle job over OT Isaiah Wilson because he has experience in the offense, in the opinion of TennesseeTitans.com's Jim Wyatt. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Wilson projects as a long-term road grader at right tackle, but he probably isn't ready for NFL pass rushers yet. The Titans reached a bit for him in the first round, but he is a good fit for their offense. Kelly is a quality swing tackle and has been good when filling in for Jack Conklin and Taylor Lewan since coming over from Philadelphia in the Dorial Green-Beckham trade in 2016. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [NYJ - WR Jamison Crowder productive as slot WR]() Source: ProFootballFocus.com New York Jets WR [Jamison Crowder]( caught 58 passes while lined up as the slot receiver during the 2019 season, which ranked fourth among wide receivers. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Crowder is the only returning wide receiver from last year's top three for the Jets, so he should easily lead the team in receptions this year. His production came in spurts last year and he was inconsistent, but Crowder is still underrated at his current ADP. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [NE - WR Julian Edelman productive as slot WR]() Source: ProFootballFocus.com New England Patriots WR [Julian Edelman]( caught 69 passes while lined up as the slot receiver during the 2019 season, which was tied for the most among wide receivers. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Edelman should be the leading receiver for the Patriots this year, but it's not clear how valuable that will be with Jarrett Stidham (or Brian Hoyer) as the starting quarterback. Edelman and Tom Brady had among the best QB-WR chemistry in the league. [PHI - CB Darius Slay makes his presence felt]() Source: Pro Football Focus Philadelphia Eagles CB Darius Slay has forced 50 incompletions since the start of the 2017 season - tied for the second-highest total in the league over that span - according to Pro Football Focus. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Eagles sorely needed a #1 corner and got one for a third and fifth round pick this offseason. Slay will match up with Terry McLaurin in Week 1 in a must-see matchup. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [CHI - CB Kyle Fuller slows down passing games]() Source: Pro Football Focus Chicago Bears CB Kyle Fuller has forced 50 incompletions since the start of the 2017 season - tied for the second-highest total in the league over that span - according to Pro Football Focus. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Fuller has been a success since the Bears passed on his fifth-year option, transition tagged him, and then matched Green Bay's four-year, $56 million dollar offer in 2018. He'll face Kenny Golladay and the Lions in Week 1. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [BUF - CB E.J. Gaines may push for starting job](=) Source: BillsWire - Nick Wojton Buffalo Bills CB E.J. Gaines is expected to compete with CBs Josh Norman and Levi Wallace for one of the starting cornerback jobs during training camp. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This should be a spot that is targeted frequently no matter who wins the job. Norman is considered well past his prime and might be the best for opposing fantasy matchups. His best years came with Sean McDermott so that could give him an edge in the competition. Breshad Perriman or Denzel Mims will get to test the winner Week 1. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [ARI - WR Larry Fitzgerald performs well in slot position]() Source: ProFootballFocus.com Arizona Cardinals WR [Larry Fitzgerald]( caught 60 passes while lined up as the slot receiver during the 2019 season, which ranked third among wide receivers. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Fitzgerald's fantasy value is waning and Kyler Murray should lean on him less with DeAndre Hopkins added to the mix. Fitzgerald might have bye/injury replacement value, but isn't a priority target at wide receiver in the deepest year ever at the position. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [MIA - Another positive update for Tua Tagovailoa](=) Source: Sun-Sentinel - Safid Deen Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa is doing 'miraculously well' as he continues his recovery from the fractured hip he suffered late last season, according to his Alabama-based physical therapist Kevin Wilk.'He's doing miraculously well. The miraculous part is that he healed so well. The second part is, he's been (doing so good at) getting his strength back, which usually takes a long time after something like this. He's laser-focused. One of the most focused I've ever seen, to be honest,' Wilk said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We can't rely on these reports until we see Tagovailoa's practice participation in camp, but this is certainly what you wanted to hear if you are rooting for the #5 pick to start sooner than later. He will be a downgrade from Ryan Fitzpatrick for the Dolphins passcatchers' fantasy prospects when he takes over, but maybe not a significant downgrade with his advanced accuracy and anticipation. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [CAR - RB Christian McCaffrey rarely came off field]( Source: NFL.com - Cynthia Frelund Carolina Panthers RB [Christian McCaffrey]( was on the field for 93.4 percent of the offensive snaps in 2019. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] McCaffrey probably won't be on the field that much this year, but he should still lead running backs in snaps. It would be good to know his handcuff but that's not clear right now. Jordan Scarlett, Reggie Bonnafon, and Mike Davis are the top candidates in this camp battle to watch. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [SEA - QB Russell Wilson exceptional at play-action]() Source: Pro Football Focus Seattle Seahawks QB [Russell Wilson]( completed 71.3 percent of his passes for 1,545 yards, 11 touchdowns and no interceptions when passing out of play-action in 2019 (including playoffs), according to Pro Football Focus. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Seahawks could use more passing on first down and otherwise more offense running through Wilson this year. He is often available outside of the top five quarterback, but he could finish in the top three if pass attempts go up for the second straight year.
