[View in Web Browser]() Thanks To Our Sponsor, [FFPC Dynasty Leagues](=) Howdy {NAME}, Good Tuesday to you. I hope you had a restful Memorial Day. Thank you to the many folks who sent such nice notes of encouragement after yesterday's email. Footballguys Nation is the best. But that's old news. What's new news is we have an absolute avalanche of new content for you today. The Footballguys Classic Tools are ready with the Draft Dominator Classic and the Value-Based Drafting (VBD) App and the Projections Dominator. Plus new articles and of course the News and Notes you need. And last thing, but most importantly, please join me with a tip of the hat in honoring Mr. Andrew Mousalimas who passed away last week at the age of 95. The [National Herald wrote,]( "Mousalimas was an Oakland native and one of America's greatest warriors in World War II - so great that Adolf Hitler personally put a price on his head". "A member of an elite commando unit of the Office of Strategic Services (OSS), the forerunner of the CIA... Mousalimas and his comrades secretly parachuted behind enemy lines into occupied Greece and raised havoc among the German forces, destroying infrastructure and pinning down a whopping 31 German divisions that otherwise would have been sent to France to stop the Allied invasion on D-Day," EBT reported. If that wasn't cool enough, he's also credited for being part of one of the earliest known fantasy football leagues. In 1963, the Greater Oakland Pigskin Prognostication League, (or GOPPL, pronounced 'gopple,' for short) was born with the help of Oakland businessman Bill Winkenbach. With the first overall pick in 1963, Mousalimas selected George Blanda. Jim Brown went off the board at 1.02. Competition in the league was tough. Two owners, Ron Wolf and Scotty Stirling, went on to be NFL general managers. Years later, Bob Lung created the Kings Classic league in Canton, Ohio to pay tribute to Mousalimas, and appropriately named the two divisions the Blanda and Brown divisions. The GOPPL league went on for 50 years. ESPN wrote a [sweet article](=) about the league several years ago. On a serious note, we thank Andrew Mousalimas for his service to our country. On a fun note, we thank him for paving the way for this hobby of Fantasy Football we enjoy. Rock on, Mr. Mousalimas. Now let's get to this. J SITE NEWS A. [PIT - Coach expects more from RB Benny Snell](=) Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Josh Alper Pittsburgh Steelers RB [Benny Snell]( should be able to be more productive for the Steelers this upcoming season since he will be more comfortable playing in the NFL, according to head coach Mike Tomlin. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Steelers may reduce the workload for James Conner this year. That leads to more time for Snell (among others). The Steelers have an interesting collection of backs and we'll see how this RBBC shakes out. In addition to Conner and Snell, the team drafted scatback Anthony McFarland out of Maryland this year. They also still have the multi-dimensional Jaylen Samuels in the RB room as well. Let's see how this shakes out in camp and the preseason. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [NFL - Retirement an option for RB Devonta Freeman?]( Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Michael David Smith Free-agent RB [Devonta Freeman]( (Falcons) may consider retirement if he does not receive a contract offer he likes, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Freeman is probably more likely to accept the best offer he receives at some point. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Freeman wanted a certain level of pay, rumblings said more than $4 million a year, and he's not getting much interest. We'll see if he finds a new team to take a chance on him at this advanced part of his career. Freeman is no longer the player he used to be but he is a veteran who provides ability as a runner or receiver on a part-time basis. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [BUF - Gabriel Davis putting in work](=) Source: NewYorkUpstate.com - Matt Parrino Buffalo Bills fourth-round pick WR Gabriel Davis has been in California working with QB [Josh Allen]( recently. He was previously in Florida running routes with WR [John Brown](. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Davis is a deep threat, and he could build strong chemistry with Allen on such throws. He has great ball-tracking ability and he excels on 'go' routes. We have an appreciation for Davis in dynasty formats. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [IND - Jacob Eason focused on consistency]( Source: Colts.com - Jake Arthur Indianapolis Colts fourth-round pick QB Jacob Eason had a tendency to force passes into tight windows in college because he has such a strong arm. Those windows close quicker in the NFL, and Eason knows he has to work on consistency and avoid tunnel vision locking on receivers. 'I think his arm talent was probably the best in the draft as far as quarterbacks go,' head coach Frank Reich said. 'What I liked about his arm talent is he can throw it on a rope, he can throw it long, he can throw with touch, he can change the speed on the ball and he can deliver from different arm angles.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Eason is an interesting prospect. Some think he could be the QB of the future for the team, while others think he can't be more than a backup at the pro level. He needs a clean pocket to look his best. Eason has arm talent and is known as a rhythm passer. If he stays on time, then he can thrive and build on his confidence throw after throw. If Eason is rushed or moved off his point, then things go South quickly. We'll see how he develops behind Philip Rivers in 2020. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [PHI - TE Dallas Goedert busy in 2019]() Source: NFL.com - Gregg Rosenthal Philadelphia Eagles TE [Dallas Goedert]( played more snaps in 2019 than all but nine other tight ends. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Goedert delivered a top-10 fantasy season in 2019 with 58 receptions for 607 yards and 5 touchdowns. He was able to do this while splitting time at the position with Zach Ertz. This year, the big question is whether or not he will continue to play that much. The Eagles improved their WR corps this offseason so that could mean less playing time for Goedert. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [PHI - Greg Ward in line to start?]() Source: NFL.com - Gregg Rosenthal Philadelphia Eagles WR [Greg Ward]( Jr. is 'the top option' for the slot receiver role in 2020, according to to Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Ward is no lock for the 53-man roster in 2020. Eagles fans love his game, but Ward only got a chance last year due to injury. Ward was a practice squad player but a litany of injuries forced a call up in Week 12. We'll see if he can continue to impress in training camp and solidify his potential role as the top slot option for the Eagles. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [PHI - TE Zach Ertz on a record pace]() Source: NFL.com - Bucky Brooks Philadelphia Eagles TE [Zach Ertz]('s 525 receptions are the most by a tight end in NFL history through their first seven seasons. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Ertz is an incredible target and his consistency has obviously been off the charts. The Eagles added much-needed talent at the WR position but Ertz is still going to have a big role in what they do through the air. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [NO - TE Jared Cook delivered big plays]() Source: NFL.com - Bucky Brooks New Orleans Saints TE [Jared Cook]( scored a career-high nine touchdowns in 2019 while averaging 16.4 yards per catch and logging 15 receptions of at least 20 yards. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Cook is a big-play machine and certainly dangerous in the Saints offense. The Saints added WR Emmanuel Sanders in free agency and that should only help keep Cook open on the regular. [CHI - WR Ted Ginn Jr. the No. 3?]( Source: NFL.com - Gregg Rosenthal Chicago Bears WR [Ted Ginn]( Jr. has the 'slight edge' over WR [Javon Wims]( and WR [Cordarrelle Patterson]( for the No. 3 receiver role, according to Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com, but Rosenthal doesn't believe any of them will play 'starter' snaps. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Ginn has the edge due to his experience. He should be utilized to take the top off the defense, but Ginn will not be much of a fantasy factor. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [DET - Not much difference between Detroit WRs?](=) Source: ProFootballReference.com Detroit Lions WRs [Kenny Golladay]( amassed 35 catches on 62 targets for 640 yards and seven touchdowns with [Matthew Stafford]( as his quarterback in 2019. Meanwhile, [Marvin Jones]( tallied 42 receptions on 57 targets for 535 yards and six TDs prior to Stafford getting hurt. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Golladay and Jones will benefit from the return of Stafford this year. We see Golladay as a WR1 with upside to be top-5 at his position again, while Jones is a low-end WR2 with upside for Fantasy GMs in 2020. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [DEN - WR Courtland Sutton's splits with Drew Lock]( Source: ProFootballReference.com Denver Broncos WR [Courtland Sutton]( caught 22 of his 40 targets for 280 yards and two touchdowns in five games with [Drew Lock]( as the starting quarterback in 2019. In his 11 other games, Sutton hauled in 50 of his 84 targets for 832 yards and four TDs. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Sutton has just shown us the tip of the iceberg in what he can be as a pro. His upside is through the roof and he's got chemistry with Lock. The Broncos added talent (big-time talent) to the WR room with the addition of Jerry Jeudy and K.J. Hamler in the 2020 NFL draft. That should help open things up for Sutton in 2020. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [WAS - Steven Sims got it done late last season](=) Source: ProFootballReference.com Washington Redskins WR [Steven Sims]( was one of only 16 wide receivers to amass at least 20 catches over the final four weeks of 2019. Of that group, his four touchdowns were tied with [Cooper Kupp]( for the second-highest total in that timeframe. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Sims is in line to do more this season. Washington needs to figure out the quarterback situation as Dwayne Haskins has some competition from Kyle Allen in training camp. After that, the team will establish a pecking order behind Terry McLaurin. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [PIT - WR Diontae Johnson finished with a bang](=) Source: ProFootballReference.com Pittsburgh Steelers WR [Diontae Johnson]( tallied 23 catches over the final four weeks of 2019 - good for the eighth-best total by a wide receiver in that span. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Johnson had to work through three different quarterbacks as a rookie in 2019. He finished the season strong but that wasn't with Ben Roethlisberger. The veteran quarterback returns this year and that should boost everyone's production in the Steelers passing game. Johnson is an up-and-coming talent who could be an even larger force in 2020 and beyond...especially given the uncertain future of JuJu Smith-Schuster after this season. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [CIN - RB Joe Mixon poured it on after the bye](=) Source: ProFootballReference.com Cincinnati Bengals RB [Joe Mixon]( rushed for 817 yards following the team's Week 8 bye. Only [Derrick Henry]( ran for more yards (959) over that same span, while no back topped Mixon's 177 rushing attempts. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The team is going to be built around Mixon from the jump this year. Rookie no.1 overall pick Joe Burrow has tremendous upside but the team has to help him out early by running the rock. That means Mixon should be in for a sizable workload all season long. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 15. [NYJ - WR Jamison Crowder excelled with QB Sam Darnold]( Source: ProFootballReference.com New York Jets WR [Jamison Crowder]( caught 70 of his 107 targets for 758 yards and six touchdowns in the 13 games [Sam Darnold]( was able to play in 2019. In three games without Darnold, Crowder tallied eight receptions on 15 targets for 75 yards and zero scores. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hopefully Darnold can stay healthy and productive all season long. Crowder has some help in the WR room this year with offseason additions through free agency (Breshad Perriman) and the draft (Denzel Mims). We could see Crowder play as a WR4 or deep flex option for Fantasy GMs in 2020. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 16. [HOU - QB Deshaun Watson hits his mark with regularity]() Source: Sports Info Solutions Houston Texans QB [Deshaun Watson]( was on target with 72.5 percent of his throws in 2019 - tied for the fourth-best mark by a quarterback with at least 300 pass attempts. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's not just about being on target. Watson also does a good job of leading his receivers and throwing a catchable ball. It will be interesting to see the Texans passing game without superstar WR DeAndre Hopkins in 2020.
