[KC - Clyde Edwards-Helaire has 'special traits']() Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Charean Williams Kansas City Chiefs RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire has 'some special traits,' according to offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy Tuesday, May 19. 'But also we want to make sure we're utilizing him the right way and making sure he's mentally prepared to go when it's time to go,' Bieniemy added. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Edwards-Helaire was a favorite of QB Patrick Mahomes before the draft, and that's why the team picked him...well, one of the reasons why. The rookie from LSU has great contact balance and can be a danger to defenses on all three downs. He'll compete with Damien Williams for the starting job in training camp and likely end up in some form of RBBC. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [MIN - WR Adam Thielen excels in man coverage](=) Source: Pro Football Focus - Seth Galina Minnesota Vikings WR [Adam Thielen]( received a Pro Football Focus grade of 95.4 against Cover 1 defense on a target depth of 10-19 yards over the last three seasons to rank second among all wide receivers. Only New Orleans Saints WR [Michael Thomas]( received a higher grade. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Thielen does a lot of damage from the slot, and that's where he can really take advantage of any coverage put on him. Expect more of the same in 2020, but it will be interesting to see how Minnesota mixes in rookie Justin Jefferson...as he almost exclusively played slot at LSU. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [DAL - Cowboys Reportedly Offered Dak Prescott 5 years - $175 Million]() Source: Yardbarker.com - Zac Wassink While speaking with the "K&C Masterpiece" program on Dallas radio station 105.3 The Fan on Tuesday, former pro QB and Pro Football Talk analyst [Chris Simms]( explained that he's heard the Cowboys have offered Prescott a five-year contract that could be worth $175 million. From Mike Fisher of Sports Illustrated, Simms elaborated: "(Prescott) wants a four-year deal. If they do agree to a five-year deal they would like a really big number at the end of that fifth year to cover their butts for what the market might be at the position five years from now. And I've heard he's asking for somewhere like north of $45 million in that fifth year." [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Cowboys used the franchise tag for Prescott in 2020. We'll see if the team can work out this deal or if he plays under the franchise tag this season. They have until July 15 to sign Prescott long term. It'll be interesting as this seems generous for Prescott. Stay tuned. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [PHI - RB Devonta Freeman an option for Eagles?]( Source: NFL Network - Michael Silver Free-agent RB [Devonta Freeman]( (Falcons) has received interest from Philadelphia Eagles this offseason. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Eagles are sniffing around veteran backs still available on the open market. Some had speculated they were considering bringing back LeSean McCoy last week, and now this report about Freeman. Either way, the Eagles are likely just looking for veteran depth and experience behind starter Miles Sanders. No matter who is added, we don't think they'll cut into Sanders touches too much this season. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [NYJ - NYJ have considered RB Devonta Freeman]( Source: NFL Network - Michael Silver Free-agent RB [Devonta Freeman]( (Falcons) has received interest from New York Jets this offseason. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Jets have an interesting...and crowded backfield shaping up for the 2020 season. Le'Veon Bell is the starter with Frank Gore behind him as the veteran banger. Add in rookie La'Mical Perine, veterans Kenneth Dixon, Josh Adams and Trenton Cannon and that's a full (and multi-talented) room. Freeman is waiting for his new opportunity and the news around him seems to be picking up. We'll see if he can latch on with a new team before training camp. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [SEA - More on Seattle's offer to RB Devonta Freeman]( Source: NFL Network - Michael Silver Updating a previous report, free-agent RB [Devonta Freeman]( (Falcons) has received a one-year contract offer from the Seattle Seahawks worth as much as $4 million. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Seattle does not expect former first-round pick Rashaad Penny to be ready for the start of the regular season. That leaves Chris Carson as the talented but sometimes banged up starter and a rookie in DeeJay Dallas behind him. Seattle could use a veteran presence like Freeman even though he's not the same player he used to be. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [SEA - Seattle considering RB Carlos Hyde]( Source: NFL Network - Michael Silver Free-agent RB [Carlos Hyde]( (Texans) has received some interest from the Seattle Seahawks this offseason. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] There has been some buzz around Hyde possible joining the Eagles, but the Seahawks could use a veteran back as well. Hyde is coming off a 1,000 yard season with the Texans and could be at least a short-yardage and goal-line banger for any team that adds him. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [CLE - WR Jarvis Landry ahead of schedule]() Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot Cleveland Browns WR [Jarvis Landry]( (hip) said he is ahead of schedule in his recovery from hip surgery and hopes to be ready for football activities in August. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Good news for Landry and the Browns here. Things went off track last year with the Browns offense, and they're hoping to get things corrected this year with a new coach and a new offense. Landry had surgery in February and doesn't exactly know when he'll be ready but the target date is August. That means he'll be limited in training camp and the preseason if he's ready by that time. The Browns expect to have him for Week 1 of the regular season. [CLE - Harrison Bryant signs contract with CLE]( Source: ESPN.com - Field Yates Cleveland Browns fourth-round draft choice TE Harrison Bryant signed a four-year contract with the Browns Wednesday, May 20. Financial terms were not disclosed. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] A former high school offensive tackle, Bryant has the ability as a blocker to be a 'Y' tight end. He's no slouch as a receiver at all. Bryant led all tight ends in college football with 65 receptions for 1,004 yards (15.4 per) while snaring seven touchdowns in 12 starts. He'll learn behind Austin Hooper and David Njoku as a rookie but we love his dynasty prospects. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [CLE - Cleveland signs Donovan Peoples-Jones]( Source: ESPN.com - Field Yates Cleveland Browns sixth-round draft choice WR Donovan Peoples-Jones signed a four-year contract with the Browns Wednesday, May 20. Financial terms were not disclosed. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Michigan wide receiver has a big frame and knows how to use it to secure passes. He doesn't have elite speed but his skill set and reliability have the look of a big slot receiver at the pro level. The Browns WR corps is jam-packed with talent, so Peoples-Jones may not do much as a rookie. Instead, we'll keep an eye on him in super deep dynasty formats. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [SEA - QB Geno Smith's signing official]( Source: Seahawks.com - John Boyle Updating a previous report, free-agent QB [Geno Smith]( (Seahawks) officially re-signed with the Seattle Seahawks Wednesday, May 20. Official terms of the contract were not disclosed. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Smith returns as the primary backup to Russell Wilson. The veteran has only undrafted rookie Anthony Gordon (Washington State) to compete with to win the no.2 job on the depth chart. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [ATL - TE Hayden Hurst working out with QB](=) Source: ESPN.com - Vaughn McClure Atlanta Falcons TE [Hayden Hurst]( said he has been traveling to Atlanta over the past four weeks in order to work out with QB [Matt Ryan](. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] A former first-round pick of the Ravens, Hurst was never able to play up to his potential in Baltimore. He now gets a fresh start, while still having first-round tools, with the Falcons. Hurst said the workouts are improving his chemistry with Ryan and it will pay off during training camp. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [WAS - Antonio Gandy-Golden recovered from COVID-19]() Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Washington Redskins WR Antonio Gandy-Golden (illness) released a statement Wednesday, May 20, through his agent, announcing the rookie was diagnosed with COVID-19 after a March 24 test. His symptoms were mild, and after two weeks of quarantine, Gandy-Golden was fully cleared April 7 and is now at 100 percent. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Good news for the rookie here. Gandy-Golden is a small-school prospect with big upside. He was a star at Liberty but proved at the Senior Bowl that he could shine against a higher competition level. Washington has a wide open depth chart at wide receiver behind Terry McLaurin. We'll see Gandy-Golden compete for a starting spot and to establish himself in that pecking order during training camp. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [PHI - RB Miles Sanders ready for major role](=) Source: Sirius XM NFL Radio Philadelphia Eagles RB [Miles Sanders]( told SiriusXM Radio Tuesday, May 19, he is 'absolutely' ready for a larger role in the offense. 'I believe that's why they drafted me in the first place,' Sanders said. 'It was really just a switch, honestly, that turned. All of a sudden, I was a starting running back, and I didn't start at the beginning of the season. So, I just looked at it as an opportunity, and I just attacked it.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Sanders has just shown us the tip of the iceberg in terms of what he can do at the pro level. The Eagles may add a veteran back to the mix (LeSean McCoy?), but it would only be as a depth player behind Sanders. He doesn't have to split time anymore with Jordan Howard and Sanders has the skill set to be a RB1 for Fantasy GMs this year, especially in PPR formats. His current ADP is RB13 (2.07) in 12-team PPR leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 15. [NE - Trainer effusive in praise of Devin Asiasi]() Source: NBC Sports Boston - Phil Perry New England Patriots TE Devin Asiasi has 'the catch radius of Austin (Hooper)' and the 'body control and awareness of Zach (Ertz),' according to California Strength CEO Dave Spitz, who is training Asiasi this spring after working with Hooper and Ertz in the past.'I think (Asiasi) has more bend, more wiggle, than both of them. He's a beautiful combination. Plus he brings his own set of qualities. As a route-runner, he's just gonna be so difficult to defend at the next level. ... There's something that's incredibly special that pops right away. This kid just has another level of command of his body and of his awareness. I just can't wait to see what it translates to in the league,' Spitz said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Asiasi has athleticism and speed in space, and he should be the lead tight end for the Patriots this year. Fellow rookie Dalton Keene will get into the mix as well, but more of a blocker/H-back type of tight end. Asiasi has what scouts call 'safety blanket size' and he could become a favorite target when it's time to move the chains on third down. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 16. [PHI - College coach praises Jalen Reagor]() Source: Philadelphia Daily News - Paul Domowitch Philadelphia Eagles WR Jalen Reagor impressed outside receivers coach [Malcolm Kelly]( during his time at TCU. 'He is one of those rare players who can do it all,' Kelly said. 'He literally can do it all. ... He has that rare combination of explosion, high-point ability - at 5-10, he can go up and high-point the ball like a 6-3 or 6-4 guy - and the ability to turn nothing into something.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Reagor might be the best deep threat in this draft class. He's got the speed to take the top off the defense, but Reagor runs with control and doesn't lose much of that speed when he changes direction. The Eagles needed WR help in a bad way, and Reagor is a bright young potential star that Fantasy GMs are excited about. He could easily outplay his current ADP of WR63 (14.04) in 12-team PPR leagues.
