1. [MIA - WR Preston Williams on schedule](
Source: The Miami Herald - Barry Jackson and Adam H. Beasley
Miami Dolphins WR [Preston Williams]( (knee) is on schedule in his return and is jogging, according to a team source. The Dolphins are optimistic he'll be ready for the regular-season opener after tearing his ACL last November.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Williams looked fantastic as a rookie last year before he was hurt. He's got a fine size/speed combination and can make big plays. Since he's on track, Williams should be able to get to work in during training camp and the preseason.

2. [MIA - QB Ryan Fitzpatrick open to starting or mentoring]()
Source: TouchdownWire - Nick Wojton
Miami Dolphins QB [Ryan Fitzpatrick]( recently said on the 'What's Next with Eric Wood' podcast he's looking forward to mentoring rookie QB Tua Tagovailoa in 2020. 'I'm really excited, I'm really excited that they drafted him,' Fitzpatrick said. 'I'm excited because I watched him play at Alabama and he seems like he's a pretty dynamic talent. For me, I'm his biggest cheerleader right now. ... Hopefully, some of the lessons I'm able to teach him are him watching me play, but if it's the other way around, I'm going to do my best to help him to succeed in the best way that he can,' Fitzpatrick said.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Fitzpatrick should begin the season as the starter. The Dolphins have an improved roster and could win more games than some think with the veteran at the helm. Depending on Tagovailoa's health, the Dolphins may have Fitzpatrick as their starter for most of the season. There's a chance the team gives the 2020 first-round pick a redshirt year. If the team struggles with Fitzpatrick, and Tagovailoa is healthy, then they could turn things over to the rookie.

3. [DEN - RB Melvin Gordon built for Denver's system?](=)
Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
Denver Broncos RB [Melvin Gordon]( says his new team's offensive system will 'help me get back to what I do best' and the Los Angeles Chargers' system 'wasn't built for me.'
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Gordon was a big-play back in college at Wisconsin. He has the speed to make field-flipping plays but with the Chargers he was more of a grinder. Gordon was good at that, picking up third downs regularly, and he certainly has a nose for the end zone. With the Broncos, OC Pat Shurmur's system will feature him as a the lead back with plenty of opportunities to gash defenses. Last year's starter Phillip Lindsay will get work in the backfield too as the team wants to keep both fresh.

4. [PHI - Nate Sudfeld has edge for backup role](=)
Source: The Athletic - Zach Berman
Philadelphia Eagles QB [Nate Sudfeld]( is viewed as the frontrunner for the backup job over rookie QB Jalen Hurts, according to head coach Doug Pederson. 'Early on in this season ... teams are going to have to rely on their veterans. And Nate (Sudfeld) is one of those guys for us. ... I have a ton of confidence in Nate becoming our backup QB.' Pederson added Hurts will need to 'learn and pick up our system.'
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Sudfeld hsa experience in the league as a reserve behind Wentz and that gives him the advantage. Hurts has more upside in the long run but this year might be more of a third-string quarterback who plays as the Eagles version of Taysom Hill.

5. [PIT - QB Ben Roethlisberger being brought along slowly](=)
Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
Updating previous reports, Pittsburgh Steelers QB [Ben Roethlisberger]( (elbow) has been ready to throw for 'some time,' NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The team has to be cautious with the veteran quarterback. The Steelers coaches have been overly cautious with Roethlisberger following elbow surgery last year. We expect him to be eased into training camp and he should be limited in the preseason.

6. [TB - QB Tom Brady throws with teammates at prep school](=)
Source: Tampa Bay Times - Rick Stroud and Joey Knight
Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB [Tom Brady]( conducted an on-field throwing session Tuesday, May 19, with several teammates at a local-area prep school. The session lasted about two hours, and Brady was seen walking through routes, including demonstrations of precise foot placement for making breaks. Brady was joined by WR [Mike Evans](, TE [O.J. Howard](, TE [Cameron Brate](, QB [Blaine Gabbert](, C Ryan Jensen, QB Ryan W. Griffin, WR [Scott Miller]( and RB [Dare Ogunbowale](.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
It's going to be different to see Brady playing for a new team in 2020. The weapons are there for him to be quite productive this season. Fantasy GMs are taking him off the board at QB11 (8.09) in 12-team PPR leagues. It looks like Brady is taking it upon himself to get work in with his new teammates while the league is still working through a 'virtual offseason.' It's no surprise given his veteran leadership and drive to be great. Working out together in any way possible is only going to help.

7. [DEN - RB Royce Freeman earning trust as a receiver]()
Source: Sports Info Solutions
Denver Broncos RB [Royce Freeman]( hauled in 43 of his 50 targets last season. The resulting 86-percent catch rate ranked third in the league among all running backs with at least 40 targets, according to Sports Info Solutions.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Freeman is a better receiver than most expected him to be coming out of Oregon in 2018. He was supposed to be the starter for the Broncos each of the last two years but he's been beat out by Phillip Lindsay. Now, Lindsay has been pushed back with the addition of Melvin Gordon. That makes Freeman the third-string back for the Broncos. There's not much fantasy value in that role. He'll most likely have to get a fresh start with a new team in order to get his career on track.

8. [KC - RB Damien Williams struggled on inside runs]()
Source: Sports Info Solutions
Kansas City Chiefs RB [Damien Williams]( averaged a league-worst 2.6 yards per carry (minimum 100 attempts) on his 28 runs in between the guards in 2019, according to Sports Info Solutions. Conversely, Williams averaged 4.2 yards per carry on 54 off-tackle plays and 6.8 yards per carry on his 29 runs outside the tackles.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Williams was fantastic for the Chiefs in the postseason, including an MVP-worth performance in the Super Bowl. In the first round of the 2020 NFL draft, the Chiefs added RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire from LSU. Williams and Edwards-Helaire will combine in a RBBC for the Chiefs this season.

9. [ARI - RB Kenyan Drake thrived on off-tackle runs]()
Source: Sports Info Solutions
Arizona Cardinals RB [Kenyan Drake]( averaged a league-best 8.1 yards per carry (minimum 100 attempts) on off-tackle runs in 2019, according to Sports Info Solutions.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Drake did a great job with the Cardinals last year. He was not used properly with the Dolphins but things were unlocked for him in Arizona. Fantasy GMs are incredibly excited about the Cardinals offense in 2020. Drake should finish the season as a top-12 fantasy running back this season.

10. [MIN - RB Alexander Mattison loves running inside]()
Source: Sports Info Solutions
Minnesota Vikings RB [Alexander Mattison]( ran in between the guards on only 17 of his 100 carries as a rookie, but he led all running backs with 6.2 yards per carry on those runs (minimum 100 attempts), according to Sports Info Solutions.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Mattison is a talented back who could thrive with a starting role. Unfortunately for him, he's backing up Dalvin Cook. That makes Mattison a high-value handcuff for Fantasy GMs in 2020.

11. [ATL - QB Matt Ryan on point the last two seasons]()
Source: Sports Info Solutions
Atlanta Falcons QB [Matt Ryan]( led all quarterbacks with 440 on-target passes in 2019, according to Sports Info Solutions. Ryan finished third with 474 on-target passes in 2018, trailing only [Ben Roethlisberger]( (489) and [Andrew Luck]( (485).
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Falcons are built around Ryan and they have improving weapons in the passing game. He's been a top-10 fantasy quarterback each of the last three years and this year Fantasy GMs are drafting him at QB10 (8.03) in 12-team PPR leagues.

12. [BUF - QB Josh Allen able to avoid tackles]()
Source: ProFootballFocus.com
Buffalo Bills QB [Josh Allen]( forced 20 missed tackles while running in 2019, which ranked second among quarterbacks.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Allen is an incredibly athletic quarterback and that helps him get by defenders. He's also a powerful runner who can blast through arm tackles. Expect more of the same in 2020.
