[NO - New Orleans nearing deal with QB Jameis Winston]() Source: Yahoo! Sports - Charles Robinson Free-agent QB [Jameis Winston]( (Buccaneers) is reportedly close to agreeing to terms with the New Orleans Saints on a one-year contract, according to Yahoo! Sports Charles Robinson. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Saints had Teddy Bridgewater as a backup to Drew Brees last year and they needed him when Brees was banged up. Winston would serve a similar role with plenty of starting experience. Taysom Hill would then continue as a gadget quarterback for the Saints in 2020. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [NO - QB Taysom Hill gets extension]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter New Orleans Saints QB [Taysom Hill]( received a one-year extension on top of the one-year, $4.6 million tender he received in March, according to a source. His deal now runs through the 2021 season. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Yahoo's Charles Robinson reports the deal includes $16 million guaranteed. Hill should see an expanded role in 2020 with this hefty price tag for a 'third-string' quarterback. The Saints are expected to sign Jameis Winston to a one-year deal in order to back up Drew Brees. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [NYJ - Denzel Mims may play early]() Source: ESPN.com - Rich Cimini New York Jets WR Denzel Mims likely will receive immediate playing time as a rookie unless the team signs another veteran receiver this offseason. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We could see that happening as he's their best receiver from a talent standpoint. He'll be competing for targets with guys like Breshad Perriman and Jamison Crowder. Mims had first-round talent but fell in this draft due to it being so jam-packed at the WR position. We're excited to see what Mims can do in the pros. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [PHI - Jalen Hurts could be used in hybrid role in 2020]() Source: NBC Sports Philadelphia - Dave Zangaro Philadelpha Eagles QB Jalen Hurts could be used in a role next season similar to the way the New Orleans Saints use QB [Taysom Hill](, according to head coach Doug Pederson. However, Pederson added that the organization primarily views Hurts as a quarterback. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hurts is an athletic quarterback who can make plays as a runner or receiver too. He's no threat to Carson Wentz as the starting quarterback, but Hurts does have developmental upside as a passer. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [NO - Juwan Johnson update](=) Source: NewOrleans.Football - Nick Underhill Updating a previous report, undrafted free-agent WR Juwan Johnson (Oregon) agreed to terms on a three-year contract with the New Orleans Saints on Saturday, April 25. Johnson will reportedly receive $85,000 guaranteed. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Johnson is a big-bodied receiver who struggles to separate. He'll need to be sharp in training camp if he wants to make the 53-man roster. Johnson also needs to work on his hands as he had 19 drops over the course of his career at both Oregon and Penn State. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [ARI - Eno Benjamin unlikely to play much early]() Source: ESPN.com - Josh Weinfuss Arizona Cardinals RB Eno Benjamin is not expected to receive many offensive snaps during his rookie season since he is behind RBs [Kenyan Drake]( and [Chase Edmonds]( on the depth chart. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We'll be monitoring Benjamin closely in dynasty formats. He's got elusiveness and some pop to his game as a runner. Benjamin can stay on the field all three downs as he's a good receiving option. [Get the Rookie Scouting Portfolio here](. --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [SF - Brandon Aiyuk could contribute early]( Source: ESPN.com - Nick Wagoner San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk should be able to contribute in the passing game right away and may also be used as a kick and punt returner during his rookie season. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] That sounds about right. Aiyuk's game is all about run-after-the-catch ability and he'll play opposite of Deebo Samuel. He's versatile enough to line up in the slot from time to time if the team wants. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [LAR - Early impact Cam Akers?]() Source: ESPN.com - Matt Bowen Los Angeles Rams RB Cam Akers 'is in a great spot to compete for carries' with RB [Malcolm Brown]( and RB [Darrell Henderson](, according to Matt Bowen of ESPN.com, and Bowen believes Akers offers 'upside' in the passing game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This has the makings of a three-headed RBBC for the Rams...and a nightmare for Fantasy GMs. Akers is a natural runner and can be used effectively as a receiver out of the backfield. He could win the top job in a committee approach. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [PHI - WR Marquise Goodwin agrees to rework deal](=) Source: NJ.com - Mike Kaye Philadelphia Eagles WR [Marquise Goodwin]( has agreed to a one-year restructured contract worth $1.35 million, according to a source. He can made as much as $1 million in incentives. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Goodwin gets a fresh start with the Eagles after getting traded last week. He's got plenty of speed to stretch the field but could be in for a reserve role with the Eagles. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [NYJ - Lamical Perine may be main backup RB]( Source: ESPN.com - Rich Cimini New York Jets RB Lamical Perine is expected to compete for the No. 2 running back job during training camp. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Perine has prototypical size for an NFL running back and is a good option to catch passes out of the backfield. That three-down skill set puts him in the running to press for playing time right out of the gate. Perine needs to be better as a pass-protector in order to see the field as a No.2 back.
