[SF - Super Bowl injury report for 49ers]() Source: 49ers.com San Francisco 49ers LB Kwon Alexander (pectoral) and S Jaquiski Tartt (ribs) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 31, and are not on the injury report for Super Bowl LIV. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Alexander and Tartt give the 49ers defense more speed to help contend with a Chiefs offense that will stretch the field. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [SF - RB Tevin Coleman ready to play]() Source: 49ers.com San Francisco 49ers RB [Tevin Coleman]( (shoulder) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 31, and is not on the injury report for Super Bowl LIV. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Coleman should still be the second back behind Raheem Mostert if only because Mostert had the best game of his career the last time out. Coleman is also at risk of reinjury, so the 49ers should have Matt Breida ready in reserve, and possibly even Jeff Wilson. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [KC - Chris Jones expected for Super Bowl](=) Source: ESPN.com - Adam Teicher Kansas City Chiefs DT Chris Jones (calf) is expected to be available and play Sunday, Feb. 2, in Super Bowl LIV, head coach Andy Reid told a pool reporter Friday. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Jones went out in the fourth quarter of the AFC title game last year in a development that hurt the Chiefs cause when the lost to the Patriots in overtime. His availability this weekend will be a boost for a Chiefs defensive line that has a tall order slowing down the 49ers running game. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [GB - RB Jamaal Williams to receive raise](=) Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky Green Bay Packers RB [Jamaal Williams]( will have his 2020 base salary increase from $735,000 to $2.147 million because of the NFL's proven performance escalator. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Williams got banged up as the season went on, but at one point was basically in a committee with Aaron Jones. He looked swifter and stronger as a runner than he had in previous years and has set up a better market for his services when he becomes a free agent next year. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [GB - RB Aaron Jones to receive bigger salary in 2020](=) Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky Green Bay Packers RB [Aaron Jones]( will have his 2020 base salary increase from $735,000 to $2.147 million because of the NFL's proven performance escalator. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Jones deserves that and then some. The Packers could seek to sign him to an extension this offseason to avoid losing him in free agency or having the market set his price if they wait until after this season to lock him up long term. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [BAL - WR Marquise Brown to have bigger impact](=) Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley Baltimore Ravens WR [Marquise Brown]( is expected to make a bigger impact in the passing game in 2020 because he was never fully healthy this season, according to head coach John Harbaugh. Brown did not fully recover from foot surgery and was limited during practices for most of the season. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Harbaugh confirmed what was obvious when looking at Brown's snap counts and injury statuses this year. Brown should be able to vastly outperform what he did in 2019 and should be sought after in dynasty trades this offseason. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [NYJ - RB Bilal Powell hopes to return]( Source: New York Post - Ryan Dunleavy New York Jets impending free-agent RB [Bilal Powell]( said he hopes to re-sign with the Jets this offseason and received positive feedback from the team during his exit meeting. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Powell is still a competent backup, but not more at this point in his career. With another infusion of talent at running back via the draft, it will be more difficult for him to find a job. The Jets could revamp their backfield this offseason if they find a taker for LeVeon Bell in the trade market. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [DEN - DE Shelby Harris open to staying in Denver]() Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Denver Broncos impending free-agent DT Shelby Harris said he is interested in re-signing with the Broncos but that he will be looking for a lucrative contract from a team during free agency. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Harris had a great finish to the season to likely add millions to his free agency cost. It's reasonable to expect him to leave in free agency to get the biggest payday. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [WAS - TE Greg Olsen may consider Redskins](=) Source: The Washington Post - Mark Maske Carolina Panthers impending free-agent TE [Greg Olsen]( likely will consider signing with the Washington Redskins this offseason if he decides to continue his playing career, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This would be a reunion with Ron Rivera and he would fill a big area of need for the team. He played well enough last year to have some fantasy relevance if he is on the field in 2020. If he retires, Olsen should be a welcome addition to a broadcast booth this season. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [DEN - QB Drew Lock excited over potential](=) Source: DenverBroncos.com - Aric DiLalla Denver Broncos QB [Drew Lock]( said Friday, Jan. 31, he is excited about the potential of the team's offense with the hiring of offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur and quarterbacks coach Mike Shula., both formerly with the New York Giants. 'I tried to watch as many New York games [as possible], with Daniel (Jones) being a friend of mine,' Lock said. 'It's pretty explosive. They throw the ball down the field. Daniel did himself some running. I'm excited to be able to scoot around a little bit. We'll see how they morph it to fit our personnel and our style and what they think might be best for our team, but I'm confident that they're going to put together a good plan and be ready to go for us.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] There's a very small chance John Elway tries to land Tom Brady, but this is most likely Lock's team going forward. Shurmur was a coveted name as an offensive coordinator after the Giants let him go as their head coach. He has served as offensive coordinator under Chip Kelly and Steve Spagnuolo in the past. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [LAR - DT Michael Brockers leaving Rams?](=) Source: Los Angeles Times - Gary Klein Los Angeles Rams DT Michael Brockers, a pending free agent, posted a video Friday, Jan. 31, on Uninterrupted's Twitter and Instagram accounts in which he reads a letter, thanking the team and fans for his eight seasons with the Rams. Brockers likely will be a salary-cap casualty and sign elsewhere, according to a team beat reporter. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Rams have a ton of money tied up in Aaron Donald's deal, so it makes sense that they wouldn't have room in the budget for Brockers. Donald will be the last one left of the Brockers-Suh-Donald defensive line that dominated in 2018. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [CLE - QB Baker Mayfield dismayed by turnovers]( Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Charean Williams Cleveland Browns QB [Baker Mayfield]( talked about his personal disappointment with his 2019 season Friday, Jan. 31, including his 23 total turnovers (21 interceptions and two lost fumbles). 'I've never turned the ball over so many times,' Mayfield said. 'You can't win like that. That falls back on me.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Lots of eyes will be on Mayfield with his new coaching staff, and if he doesn't improve in 2020, it will be reasonable to ask if he's the Browns quarterback of the future. He's the saying the right things about his down second season. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [DAL - QB Dak Prescott could hold out]( Source: The Dallas Morning News - David Moore Dallas Cowboys QB [Dak Prescott](, a pending free agent, said Thursday, Jan. 30, that he may stay away from the Cowboys' offseason program is he doesn't receive a new contract and the team applies the franchise tag. 'We'll get to that when we get to that,'' Prescott said. 'I look forward to talking to my agents and when that (tag) comes to play, the direction that we'll go. Until that's a reality, I won't worry about it.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Prescott has earned an extension and the security that comes with it even the Cowboys have been reluctant to lock him into a long-term extension at market value. He's benefiting from not going in the first round, which would have allowed the Cowboys to have a fifth-year option on his rookie for less than the franchise tag or whatever his yearly rate will be on his eventual new deal. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [DEN - John Pagano hired by Denver](=) Source: 9News.com - Mike Klis Former Houston Texans outside linebackers coach John Pagano was hired for the same position by the Denver Broncos Friday, Jan. 31. The move will be official once his contract with the Texans is up. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] He'll take the place of Brandon Staley, who is now the defensive coordinator for the Rams. Pagano has a lot of experience in 3-4 defenses and has been the defensive coordinator for the Chargers and Raiders previously. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 15. [MIA - QB Ryan Fitzpatrick returning](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Updating previous reports, Miami Dolphins QB [Ryan Fitzpatrick]( confirmed he'll return in 2020. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This is no surprise as the Dolphins have reconstituted part of the coaching staff that helped Fitzpatrick have success with the Jets in 2015 and 2016, led by new offensive coordinator Chan Gailey. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 16. [NFL - RB Frank Gore wants to keep playing](=) Source: The Miami Herald - Barry Jackson Buffalo Bills impending free-agent RB [Frank Gore]( hopes to play another season in 2020. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Gore would be best as a quasi-coach to mentor a young back and serve as an emergency backup at this point. The Bills should expand Devin Singletary's role in 2020, although Gore could be brought back because of his familiarity with the offense. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 17. [SEA - Marquise Blair may not start next season](=) Source: ESPN.com - Brady Henderson Seattle Seahawks S Marquise Blair appears to be stuck behind DBs Quandre Diggs and Bradley McDougald on the depth chart, in the opinion of ESPN's Brady Henderson, and unless Seattle releases one of them, Blair, a second-round pick in 2019, could be a reserve in 2020. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Blair was tabbed for the Kam Chancellor role, but the trade for Diggs upgraded the defense and he is going to stick as a leader of the secondary. Blair is still worth stashing in deep IDP dynasty leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 18. [WAS - TE Jordan Reed could return in 2020]() Source: The Athletic - Ben Standig Washington Redskins TE [Jordan Reed]( (concussion) could attempt to play in 2020, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Reed hasn't been able to stay healthy whether its head injuries or leg injuries. We'd love to see him make a successful return to the field but would bet against it.
