[CLE - Cleveland names Andrew Berry general manager](=) Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Updating a previous report, Philadelphia Eagles vice president of football operations Andrew Berry signed a five-year contract to become the new general manager and executive vice president of the Cleveland Browns on Monday, Jan. 27. Financial terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Berry is now the youngest GM in the league at 32-years old. He will work in concert with new head coach Kevin Stefanski to build the Browns roster. Berry has been a rising star in the scouting community with stops in Cleveland, Indianapolis and Philadelphia. [NFL - WR Tommylee Lewis signs futures deal]() Source: ESPN.com - Mike Triplett Free-agent WR [Tommylee Lewis]( (Lions) signed a Reserve/Future contract with the New Orleans Saints Monday, Jan. 27. Terms of the contract were not disclosed. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Lewis is back with the Saints and will have to compete for a roster spot in training camp. He appeared in 34 games for the Saints from 2016-2018 after making the team as an undrafted rookie free agent. He was primarily used as a return man. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [CHI - WR Taylor Gabriel may be on bubble](=) Source: Chicago Tribune - Brad Biggs Chicago Bears WR [Taylor Gabriel]( could be released this offseason since the team could save $4.5 million in salary cap space. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Gabriel is currently signed through the 2021 season. He's got a cap hit of $6.5 million in 2020 and $7.5 million in 2021. There is only $2 million remaining in dead money on his deal this offseason so the Bears may just want to move on and find different wide receiver depth. Gabriel appeared in nine games in 2019, snaring 29 passes for 353 yards and four touchdowns. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [DAL - QB Scott Tolzien joining Dallas' coaching staff]( Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Charean Williams University of Wisconsin analyst and former NFL quarterback [Scott Tolzien]( was hired to new head coach Mike McCarthy's coaching staff with the Dallas Cowboys on Monday, Jan. 27, in a yet-to-be-determined capacity. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Tolzien came into the NFL as an undrafted free agent out of Wisconsin back in 2011. He bounced around the league to a few different teams, ending his playing career in 2017 with the Indianapolis Colts. Tolzien was hired by the Badgers as an analyst to help scout upcoming opponents and now he's back in the NFL as some sort of coaching assistant with the Cowboys. It will be interesting to see how McCarthy fills out the rest of his staff. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [NFL - Denzel Mims made a name for himself in Mobile]() Source: Pro Football Network Baylor WR Denzel Mims was on 'another level' and 'did everything right' during Senior Bowl week, according to Nick Farabaugh of Pro Football Network. According to Farabaugh, Mims dismantled press, used his physicality to separate and displayed the kind of athleticism that made an unstoppable matchup for every cornerback he faced all week. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Mims had a fantastic week of work down in Mobile. He has track speed and can take the top off the defense. Mims is not just a speedy player, he also has body control, concentration and ball-tracking ability that could make him a special player in the pros. Most consider Mims a second-round pick in the 2020 NFL draft and he did nothing at the Senior Bowl to hurt that draft grade. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [NYG - Derek Dooley likely headed to NY Giants]( Source: The Record - Art Stapleton University of Missouri offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Derek Dooley reportedly agreed to join new head coach Joe Judge's staff with the New York Giants on Monday, Jan. 27, in a yet-to-be-determined capacity. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This is Dooley's third stint in the NFL. He's been an assistant with the Dolphins and the Cowboys before jumping back to the college ranks as a head coach (Louisiana Tech) or OC/QB (Missouri). He worked closely with Drew Lock in college and helped him post impressive numbers. Now, Dooley is likely to work in some capacity with second-year pro Daniel Jones. We'll see what his official title is in the near future. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [CAR - Jeff Nixon added to Carolina's staff]( Source: Yahoo! Sports - Pete Thamel Baylor offensive coordinator Jeff Nixon reportedly agreed to join new head coach Matt Rhule's staff in Carolina on Monday, Jan. 27, in a yet-to-be-determined capacity. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Nixon has coached for three pro teams already, so making the jump back to the pros is not a big deal. He's been the co-offensive coordinator and running backs coach for Baylor since 2017. Rhule has now brought two former Baylor coaches along with him to the Panthers. Former Baylor defensive coordinator Phil Snow was named as the new defensive coordinator a week ago.
