Metcalf limited]() Source: Seahawks.com Seattle Seahawks WR D.K. Metcalf (knee) was limited during practice Wednesday, Sept. 4. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] He was limited Wednesday but most feel the rookie is on track for the start of the regular season. We'll see if he can be a full participant on Thursday and Friday. Metcalf has flex appeal if he plays in Week 1 against the Bengals. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [CAR - QB Cam Newton not on injury report]() Source: The Athletic - Joseph Person Carolina Panthers QB [Cam Newton]( (foot) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Sept. 4, and is not on the injury report for Week 1. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Newton is good to go for the season opener against the Rams. The Panthers have improved weapons around Newton with young, emerging wide receivers and a healthy veteran tight end in Greg Olsen. He's a QB1 for Fantasy GMs. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [NYG - TE Evan Engram in for huge role]( Source: ESPN.com - Jordan Raanan New York Giants TE [Evan Engram]( is slated to play a massive role as the team's big-play receiver, and the team has been careful with him most of the summer. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] That's music to the ears of Fantasy GMs everywhere. Engram can be a top-5 fantasy tight end, especially with this larger role. Even if (when?) rookie Daniel Jones takes over as the starting quarterback, Engram should still be a huge part of the passing game. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [SF - WR Dante Pettis a limited participant]() Source: The Athletic - Greg Auman San Francisco 49ers WR [Dante Pettis]( (groin) was a limited during practice Wednesday, Sept. 4. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We'll see if Pettis is ready for more on Friday. In the Week 1 matchup against the Bucs, Pettis has 'what the heck' flex upside. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [MIA - Limited practice for WR Albert Wilson](=) Source: MiamiDolphins.com Miami Dolphins WR [Albert Wilson]( (hip) was limited during practice Wednesday, Sept. 6. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Wilson has been dealing with this hip injury for some time. He's in line for the slot duties with the Dolphins and has flex appeal...but not too much appeal for Fantasy GMs. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [WAS - WR Paul Richardson takes part in practice]() Source: Sirius XM NFL Radio - Adam Caplan Washington Redskins WR [Paul Richardson]( (quadriceps) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Sept. 4. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Richardson is always a little banged up with something but he's good to go for the season opener against the Eagles. With Case Keenum at quarterback, we don't see Washington stretching the field that much with a deep threat like Richardson. He's a deep 'what the heck' flex in Week 1. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [MIN - WR Stefon Diggs on the sideline]( Source: Vikings.com Minnesota Vikings WR [Stefon Diggs]( (hamstring) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 4. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Keep an eye on this situation. Diggs did some light drills on Wednesday and this could impact his Week 1 status. Stay tuned to see if we can get an update on Friday. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [NE - QB Tom Brady admits Pats are slow starters]( Source: NBC Sports Boston - Phil Perry New England Patriots QB [Tom Brady]( admitted Wednesday, Sept. 4, the team generally has trouble getting off to fast starts in the regular season. 'We've struggled at times doing that ... You can't start slow. You start slow you're fighting your way out of a hole all year.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's not how you start, it's how you finish and the Patriots are the best in the league at that. We'll see if the Patriots get off to another slow start this season. They are home to face the Steelers in Week 1. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [DAL - Full practice for WR Amari Cooper]( Source: The Bergen Record - Art Stapleton Dallas Cowboys WR [Amari Cooper]( (foot) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Sept. 4. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This was the plan all along as Cooper has been coming back from this foot problem. Cooper is good to go for Week 1 and a WR1 for Fantasy GMs. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [OAK - WR Antonio Brown finally chooses helmet]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Oakland Raiders WR [Antonio Brown]( has chosen to wear the Xenith Shadow helmet for the 2019 NFL campaign. Brown thinks the helmet makes him feel more agile and comfortable. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We hope the drama with Brown is done now that the regular season is here. Brown needs to build chemistry with QB Derek Carr and play up to his WR1 potential for Fantasy GMs. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [NYJ - Le'Veon Bell doesn't want any limitations](=) Source: New York Daily News - Manish Mehta New York Jets RB Le'Veon Bell requested his role not be limited early in the season, according to head coach Adam Gase Wednesday, Sept. 4. 'I can't predict how many plays we're going to have. But I will say this: I spoke to him yesterday. He said, 'Don't hold back.' So he feels like he's ready to go. I think he's pretty excited to get out there,' said Gase. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Bell and the Jets are taking on the Bills in Week 1. He's playing football for the first time in what feels like forever. Having missed all of the 2018 season, we're excited to see what Bell looks like upon his return. He could post RB1 numbers on a weekly basis. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [PHI - RB Jordan Howard offered up for Melvin Gordon](=) Source: MMQB - Albert Breer Philadelphia Eagles RB [Jordan Howard]( was included in a proposed trade for Los Angeles Chargers RB [Melvin Gordon](. The two teams also would have swapped mid-round picks and the Chargers would have needed to eat salary. L.A. rejected the deal. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] There's not much of a market for Gordon's services right now. The veteran back is now stuck in limbo with this holdout. We'll see if things pick up when injuries strike the RB position around the league. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [WAS - TE Jordan Reed does some work Wednesday]() Source: ESPN.com - John Keim Washington Redskins TE [Jordan Reed]( (concussion) participated in some individual drills during practice Wednesday, Sept. 4, but still has not been cleared from the concussion protocol. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Reed is making progress, slowly but surely as he tries to come back from his seventh documented concussion. We should see Vernon Davis as the top tight end for Washington in Week 1. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [GB - TE Jimmy Graham ready to play](=) Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky Green Bay Packers TE [Jimmy Graham]( (finger) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Sept. 4, and is not on the injury report for Week 1. The team did not practice Wednesday, so this is an estimation. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Graham is ready to play and if you waited on tight end, you might be starting the veteran. He was a low-end TE1 last year but Fantasy GMs are looking for him to get a couple of more touchdown grabs (at least) this year. Graham should be considered a low-end TE1 who may not provide much upside, especially this week against the Bears. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 15. [CHI - TE Trey Burton questionable]( Source: ChicagoBears.com Chicago Bears TE [Trey Burton]( (groin) was limited in practice Wednesday, Sept. 4, and is listed as questionable for Week 1. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] His status is up in the air for Thursday night against the Packers. However, we think he's likely to miss the first game and that makes Adam Shaheen the top tight end for the Bears. We'll see if Burton can make a late surge and get on the field for Week 1. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 16. [NYJ - WR Robby Anderson practicing](=) Source: New York Post - Brian Costello New York Jets WR [Robby Anderson]( (calf) is practicing Wednesday, Sept. 4. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Anderson is a little banged up and going against Bills CB Tre'Davious White in Week 1. Consider him a WR3/flex play due to this injury and this tough matchup. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 17. [CLE - WR Odell Beckham ready to go](=) Source: The Chronicle-Telegram - Scott Petrak Cleveland Browns WR [Odell Beckham]( Jr. (hip) is ready to go for Week 1, according to head coach Freddie Kitchens. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This hip issue popped up towards the end of camp, but Beckham is good to go. Fantasy GMs are ready to go when it comes to starting Beckham each and every week as a high-upside WR1. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 18. [HOU - WR Will Fuller connects with QB]( Source: ESPN.com - Sarah Barshop Houston Texans WR [Will Fuller]( has 11 touchdowns in 11 career games with QB [Deshaun Watson](. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's not about skill or connection when talking about Fuller...it all comes down to health. If Fuller is healthy he is going to produce like a WR2 with high upside...at least...if not like a WR1 for Fantasy GMs. No matter the matchup, Fuller has the speed to blow by defenders and takes advantage of coverage that is more (and rightfully) concerned with DeAndre Hopkins.
