1. [DAL - RB Ezekiel Elliott could miss multiple games?](=)
Source: ESPNDallas.com - Todd Archer
Dallas Cowboys RB [Ezekiel Elliott]( could miss 'regular season games,' in the opinion of owner Jerry Jones, who spoke on Elliott's contract following the team's preseason finale against the New York Giants. While the two sides have been in communication, nothing appears imminent, according to ESPN's Todd Archer.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Now Mike Florio's report speculating six missed games seems more relevant. Even if Elliott does miss six games, among the worst case scenarios, he is still worth a third round pick at the very worst, and probably still a second. There's a great chance he returns earlier than that, and if he missed only 2-3 games, he's still worth a first round pick. Tony Pollard is likely moving up to the 7th-8th round on this news, and he'll be a low RB1 against the Giants Week 1 if Elliott doesn't report.

2. [NYG - QB Daniel Jones named backup]()
Source: The Associated Press
New York Giants QB Daniel Jones will back up QB [Eli Manning]( to open the season, Giants head coach Pat Shurmur and co-owner John Mara said. Jones went 4-for-4 for 47 yards in the final preseason tilt Thursday, Aug. 29. He finished the preseason 29-for-34 for 416 yards and two touchdowns.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
It's only a matter of time before Jones starts. If Manning struggles against Dallas, Buffalo, Tampa, and Washington to open the season, Jones could get the call in October.

3. [MIA - QB Ryan Fitzpatrick to start Week 1](
Source: NFL Network - James Palmer
Miami Dolphins QB [Ryan Fitzpatrick]( will start against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1, according to head coach Brian Flores.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
This makes the Ravens defense an even better play. Fitzpatrick should pray that the Dolphins don't trade their best offensive lineman, Laremy Tunsil, before the season begins.

[]
4. [CAR - PK Graham Gano done for 2019](=)
Source: Panthers.com - Max Henson
Carolina Panthers PK Graham Gano (knee) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Friday, Aug. 30, ending his season.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Joey Slye will be the Panthers kicker after a tremendous camp and preseason. One more possible kicker for the Bears is off of the market.
[Back to Top](#top)
---------------------------------------------------------------
[]
5. [CIN - Torn ACL likely for RB Rodney Anderson]()
Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero
Cincinnati Bengals RB Rodney Anderson (knee) is believed to have suffered a torn ACL in the team's preseason finale Thursday, Aug. 29.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Anderson had just worked all the way back from a torn ACL. He is a second-round talent but fell to the sixth-round because of a myriad of injuries. Giovani Bernard's trade availability probably vanished with this news.
[Back to Top](#top)

[]
6. [HOU - WR Keke Coutee trending up]()
Source: HoustonTexans.com - Deepi Sidhu
Houston Texans WR [Keke Coutee]( (ankle) is trending in the right direction, but there's no determination on his Week 1 status, according to head coach Bill O'Brien.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
DeAndre Carter should get the start in the slot vs. New Orleans, but this is really good news for Duke Johnson, who should be a primary target against the Saints with their tough outside corners matching up against DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller.
[Back to Top](#top)
---------------------------------------------------------------
[]
7. [IND - QB Chad Kelly shows signs]()
Source: ESPN.com
Indianapolis Colts QB [Chad Kelly]( was 13-for-16 for 138 yards, no touchdowns and an interception in the preseason finale Thursday, Aug. 29. He also rushed three times for 20 yards and a touchdown.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Kelly gave the Colts zero reasons to add Brandon Weeden or Matt Cassel or Brock Osweiler. He is an exciting quarterback prospect who could give him a strong backup with future starter potential in the event that they are unwilling to pay Jacoby Brissett next year.

[]
8. [LAC - Russell Okung won't be ready]()
Source: ESPN.com - Eric D. Williams
Los Angeles Chargers OT Russell Okung (heart) will not be ready to start the season as the team wants to make sure he's fully healthy.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
It's time to plan on Okung being out for the year. He might return at some point this season, but it is difficult to project when. The Chargers have Trent Scott and Sam Tevi at tackle, a duo that is probably in the bottom three league-wide. That's not great for the offense's fantasy outlook.

[]
9. [SF - WR Jalen Hurd injury update](=)
Source: ESPN.com - Nick Wagoner
San Francisco 49ers WR Jalen Hurd (back) has a back injury that was more serious than originally believed, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan. He added that while Hurd is unlikely to be placed on IR, his availability for Week 1 is 'not looking as good.'
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Richie James, Jordan Matthews, and Kendrick Bourne all see their chances of making the team go up because of this injury. Rookie Deebo Samuel could have a bigger role to open the season while Hurd and Trent Taylor are on the mend.

[]
10. [NE - WR Josh Gordon with a pair of grabs]()
Source: ESPN.com
New England Patriots WR [Josh Gordon]( caught two of his six targets for 30 yards in a 31-29 preseason loss to the New York Giants Thursday, Aug. 29.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Gordon knocked off the rust in likely anticipation of starting Week 1 against Joe Haden and the Steelers. He looked good enough to be considered a boom/bust WR3/Flex at worst, although Demaryius Thomas's good showing takes a little edge off of his upside.

11. [PHI - Philly trims roster](
Source: PhiladelphiaEagles.com
Philadelphia Eagles DE Kasim Edebali, DE Eli Harold, LB Hayes Pullard and TE [Will Tye]( were released Friday, Aug. 30. The team also waived WR Carlton Agudosi, S Trae Elston, C Anthony Fabiano, S Deiondre' Hall, CB Ajene Harris, CB Josh Hawkins, QB [Cody Kessler](, OT Riley Mayfield, CB Jeremiah McKinnon, WR Marken Michel, RB Donnel Pumphrey, OG Keegan Render, CB Sojourn Shelton, LB Alex Singleton, WR DeAndre Thompkins, S Jason Thompson and LB Chris Worley as well as waived/injured DT Aziz Shittu (undisclosed).
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Pumphrey has some passing game and return ability to offer, but he hasn't been able to crack the Eagles 53 yet. He could get a look elsewhere.

12. [MIA - Miami cuts several players](
Source: The Miami Herald - Barry Jackson
Miami Dolphins WR Trenton Irwin, OT Michael Dunn, CB Jalen Davis, WR Reece Horn, CB David Rivers, DT Cory Thomas, OG Kyle E. Fuller, OT Aaron Monteiro, WR [Brice Butler](, LS Wes Farnsworth, RB [Kenneth Farrow]( and OT Jaryd Jones-Smith were released Friday, Aug. 30, according to sources.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Butler has some NFL experience and should be an NFL roster at some point again soon.

[]
13. [SEA - QB Paxton Lynch cut]()
Source: The Seattle Times - Bob Condotta
Seattle Seahawks QB [Paxton Lynch]( was waived Friday, Aug. 30, according to a source. Lynch could be a candidate for the practice squad, in the opinion of The Seattle Times' Bob Condotta.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The former first round pick should still hang around the fringe of rosters, but it's a bad sign that he can't even catch on as a developmental third quarterback right now.

14. [NO - New Orleans lets go of 12 players]()
Source: NewOrleansSaints.com
New Orleans Saints OT Fisayo Awolaja, WR Simmie Cobbs, WR Travin Dural, WR Cyril Grayson, DE Corbin Kaufusi, LB Drew Lewis, LB Darnell Sankey and FB [Shane Smith]( were waived Friday, Aug. 30. The team also released TE [A.J. Derby](, DE Geneo Grissom, OG Ryan Groy and RB [Jacquizz Rodgers](.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Cobbs, Dural, and Grayson have been on and off of rosters during their short careers and could catch on a practice squad.

15. [ARI - WR Chad Williams does not make team](=)
Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
Arizona Cardinals WR [Chad Williams]( was released Friday, Aug. 30.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The new regime has moved on from the 2017 third round pick. He once generated buzz as an understudy to Larry Fitzgerald.

Source: BaltimoreRavens.com
Baltimore Ravens QB [Joe Callahan](, WRs Jaylen Smith, Joe Horn Jr. and [Michael Floyd](, TE Matthew Orzech, LB Silas Stewart, OGs Patrick Vahe and Isaiah Williams and OT Darrell Williams were waived/released Friday, Aug. 30.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Floyd was seen as possibly on the final roster, but he couldn't beat out the youngsters on the outside. Jaleel Scott could make the team over him now.

17. [CAR - Carolina announces huge wave of cuts](=)
Source: ESPN.com - David Newton
Carolina Panthers RB [Cameron Artis-Payne](, QB [Taylor Heinicke](, CB Lorenzo Doss, WR [Aldrick Robinson]( and LS Andrew DePaola were released Friday, Aug. 30. LB Brandon Bell, OG Tyler Catalina, C Parker Collins, CB Corn Elder, DT Woodrow Hamilton, OG Taylor Hearn, TE Cole Hunt, WR Damion Jeanpiere Jr., WR Andre Levrone, WR [Jaydon Mickens](, CB Ryan Pulley, WR [Rashad Ross](, TE [Jason Vander Laan](, LB Antwoine Williams and C John Yarbrough were waived. OG Kofi Amichia (undisclosed) and S Damian Parms (undisclosed) were also waived with an injury designation. OG Kitt O'Brien (undisclosed) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Jordan Scarlett is likely first in line for carries after Christian McCaffrey now. Ross was an AAF star but couldn't make the Panthers roster.

18. [TB - OLB Jason Pierre-Paul lands on NFI]()
Source: Tampa Bay Times - Rick Stroud
Tampa Bay Buccaneers DE Jason Pierre-Paul (neck) was placed on the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list Friday, Aug. 30.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Pierre-Paul will miss at least the first six games. The Bucs secondary is already vulnerable, but they will also be without their best pass rusher to make things worse. San Francisco, Carolina (twice), the Giants, Rams, and Saints will get to benefit from his absence.

19. [DAL - Dallas trims eight from roster](
Source: The Athletic - Jon Machota
Dallas Cowboys WR Reggie Davis, LB Justin Phillips, S George Iloka, S Jameill Showers, OT Jake Campos, TE Marcus Lucas, TE Codey McElroy and PK Kasey Redfern were released/waived Friday, Aug. 30.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Lucas is a decent tight end who could catch on elsewhere with many teams looking to run more two tight end sets this year.
[Back to Top](#top)

20. [DAL - Dallas parts with RB Darius Jackson](
Source: Las Vegas Review-Journal - Michael Gehlken
Dallas Cowboys RB Darius X. Jackson was waived Friday, Aug. 30.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Jackson has great measureables, but has bounced on and off of the Dallas and Cleveland rosters. Even with Ezekiel Elliott not reporting, the team couldn't find room for Jackson.

21. [OAK - Rodney Hudson lands huge extension]()
Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero
Oakland Raiders C Rodney Hudson agreed to terms on a three-year contract extension worth $33.75 million that includes $24.4 million in guarantees on Friday, Aug. 30, according to a source. The reported deal would make him the highest-paid center in the NFL.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Raiders interior offensive line will be thin to start the year with Gabe Jackson hurt and Richie Incognito suspended, but Hudson is secured as the cornerstone in the pivot for the long haul now.

22. [TEN - RB Alex Barnes out in Tennessee]()
Source: Houston Chronicle - Aaron Wilson
Tennessee Titans RB Alex Barnes was waived Friday, Aug. 30, according to a source.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Barnes had a great workout and production, but never got a foothold in the Titans rotation this summer. He'll try to catch on a practice squad somewhere.

Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley
Baltimore Ravens LB Shane Ray was waived Friday, Aug. 30.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Ray was a first round pick in 2015 for Denver on production over measureables, but it's clear that he's not going to be an impact player in the NFL.

Cincinnati Bengals LB Curtis Akins, C Kirk Barron, S Demetrious Cox, LS Dan Godsil, CB Tony Lippett, DT Dare Odeyingbo, DT Christian Ringo, LB Sterling Sheffield, DE Immanuel Turner, K Tristan Vizcaino and G Christian Westerman were released Friday, Aug. 30.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Westerman was slated to start after Clint Boling retired and could get a look elsewhere if he gets some personal problems straightened out.

25. [HOU - RB Josh Ferguson let go](=)
Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
Houston Texans RB [Josh Ferguson]( was released Friday, Aug. 30, according to a source.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Ferguson was once seen as the third down back for the Texans, but the acquisition of Duke Johnson basically sealed his fate.

Source: ESPN.com - Mike Reiss
C Russell Bodine was traded from the Buffalo Bills to the New England Patriots on Friday, Aug. 30, in exchange for a 2020 sixth-round draft pick.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Patriots continue to be buyers in the backup offensive line market and the Bills surprising sellers.

27. [JAX - WR Terrelle Pryor among cuts](=)
Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
Jacksonville Jaguars WR [Terrelle Pryor](, DT Datone Jones and CB Saivion Smith were cut Friday, Aug. 30.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Pryor has never regained the form he once showed in Cleveland as a #1 receiver. We might hear from him again during the season if a team is in a pinch, but the clock is running out on his career.
