[KC - Andy Reid ready to move forward with WR Tyreek Hill]() Source: ESPN.com - Adam Teicher Kansas City Chiefs WR [Tyreek Hill]( will be a welcome participant when full-squad training camp opens Saturday, July 27. 'We're comfortable with Tyreek coming back here and we look forward to bringing him back here and having an opportunity to get back to doing what he loves to do,'' head coach Andy Reid said Tuesday, July 23. 'We have the trust in Tyreek and we're going to go forward in a positive way.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hill is not being suspended by the league and the Chiefs are ready to move on. He's a WR1 for Fantasy GMs as the top target for QB Patrick Mahomes. He should catch 80-plus passes once again in 2019. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [ATL - ATL still working on WR Julio Jones' contract]( Source: ESPN.com - Vaughn McClure Atlanta Falcons WR [Julio Jones]( showed up to training camp under the promise of a new contract coming his way in the near future. General manager Thomas Dimitroff said Tuesday, July 23, it remains a work in progress. 'We have the utmost faith that Julio is coming here and he's taking care of his business while he's here, and we'll keep plugging away with (Jones' agent) Jimmy (Sexton),'' Dimitroff said. '... I'm confident (the deal) will get done.'' Dimitroff acknowledged the possibility of Jones' camp waiting to see what New Orleans Saints WR [Michael Thomas]( signs for in a deal that could reset the receiver market. 'I understand that, from a business standpoint,'' Dimitroff said of waiting for the market to be set. 'Do I agree with it necessarily? That's not for me to argue about.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Falcons have taken care of business with DT Grady Jarrett and LB Deion Jones so far this offseason. That leaves Jones as the next man up. He should get a contract that pays him as one of the top WRs in the NFL...again. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [KC - TE Travis Kelce good to go for camp]( Source: NFL Network - James Palmer Kansas City Chiefs TE [Travis Kelce]( (ankle) reported to camp Tuesday, July 23, after he was held out of organized team activities and minicamp following offseason ankle surgery. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Fantasy GMs have nothing to worry about here. Kelce is in camp three days early so he can get some extra work in before the rest of the team reports on Friday, July 26. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [CLE - RB Duke Johnson's future discussed](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Cleveland Browns RB [Duke Johnson]('s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, is in Cleveland Tuesday, July 23, meeting with the team concerning Johnson's future with the Browns following his offseason trade demand. The Browns kick off training camp Wednesday, July 24. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Johnson wants to get traded but the team has yet to find any takers. We'll see if some team like the Buccaneers make a play for the speedy receiving back. If he stays with the Browns, Johnson will open the season as the primary backup to Nick Chubb. However, when Kareem Hunt returns from his 8-game suspension then Johnson should move down the depth chart. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [CIN - WR Tyler Boyd lands new deal]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Cincinnati Bengals WR [Tyler Boyd]( will sign a four-year, $43 million extension, according to league sources. The deal will keep him under contract through 2023. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Bengals wrap up Boyd as he was in the final year of his rookie contract. In 2018, Boyd missed two games but did break out with 76 catches for 1,028 yards, and seven touchdowns. We'll see if he can build on those numbers in 2019 under the guidance of new head coach Zac Taylor (and with A.J. Green back at full strength). Fantasy GMs should look at Boyd as a WR3 with upside. He has a current ADP of WR28 (6.07) in 12-team PPR leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [NYG - QB Daniel Jones agrees to terms with NYG](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport New York Giants first-round draft choice QB Daniel Jones agreed to terms on a four-year contract with the Giants Monday, July 22, according to a source. Financial terms were not disclosed, but the contract will include a fifth-year option. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Jones is seen as the quarterback of the future and will compete with Eli Manning for the starting job in training camp. Manning should win the job out of camp, but if the team struggles they could move on to Jones. He's athletic and known for his high football intelligence. Jones does not have a strong arm but is mechanically sound and reminds some in the scouting community of Ryan Tannehill. We'll see how quickly he can take over for the Giants. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [LAR - WR Cooper Kupp avoids PUP list]( Source: NFL Network - Steve Wyche Los Angeles Rams WR [Cooper Kupp]( (knee) was medically cleared Tuesday, July 23, and won't be placed on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list ahead of training camp. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Good news for Kupp here as he will not begin the season on the PUP list. He is targeting a return at some point in training camp and his Week 1 status seems good to go. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [NFL - WR Allen Hurns disappointed by release]() Source: NFL Network - Jane Slater Free-agent WR [Allen Hurns]( (Cowboys) was disappointed by the circumstances by which the Dallas Cowboys released him Tuesday, July 23, saying the team asked him to take a pay cut just a couple days before the start of training camp. 'I'm good. Just wished they did this earlier, they asked me for a pay cut Monday (July 22),' Hurns said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hurns has been working to get back from his ankle/leg injury that kept him out of all offseason workouts. The veteran should be able to find a home when healthy enough to pass a physical. He was on track to return at some point in training camp. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [GB - WR Geronimo Allison eyeing slot position duties](=) Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky Green Bay Packers WR [Geronimo Allison]( told ESPN's Rob Demovsky that his main focus will be playing in the slot in 2019. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Allison is one of our favorite young WRs on the Packers roster. We'll see if he can win the slot job and get his fair share of targets behind Davante Adams. Fantasy GMs need to be dialed into the competition in Green Bay for the pecking order in the receiving corps. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [SF - WR Trent Taylor rising to the occasion]( Source: NFL Network - Michael Silver San Francisco 49ers WR [Trent Taylor]( has 'risen to the occasion with added competition over the offseason,' according to NFL Network's Michael Silver. As such, Silver expects Pettis to be a key contributor in 2019. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Taylor is a strong receiver on underneath routes. We'll see if he can continue to develop his game and earn the trust of Jimmy Garoppolo. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [SF - WR Dante Pettis expected to take another step]( Source: NFL Network - Michael Silver San Francisco 49ers WR [Dante Pettis]( is a 'student of the game' and 'can line up anywhere,' according to NFL Network's Michael Silver. As such, Silver expects Pettis to be a key contributor in 2019. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Pettis has speed to burn and can get by defenders in the blink of an eye. He could get around 55 catches and 800-plus yards in year two. Fantasy GMs should look at him as a WR3 with upside. His current ADP is WR29 (6.09) in 12-team PPR leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [LAR - RB Todd Gurley intends to play at 218 pounds]( Source: NFL.com - Steve Wyche Los Angeles Rams RB [Todd Gurley]( (knee) wants to play the 2019 season at 218 pounds after playing most of his career around 224 pounds, according to NFL.com's Steve Wyche. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We'll see if the lighter weight helps keep Gurley healthy this year. His knee history is a huge concern for Fantasy GMs and that's why Gurley's average draft position is near the top of the second round instead of being at the top of the first like it has been since he entered the league. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [MIN - Chad Beebe the favorite for No. 3 WR duties]() Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero Minnesota Vikings WR [Chad Beebe]( has emerged as the most likely candidate to begin the season as the third receiver behind [Adam Thielen]( and [Stefon Diggs](, according to NFL Network's Tom Pellisero. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Vikings picked up Beebe as an undrafted free agent in 2018 out of Northern Illinois. He spent most of last year on the team's practice squad but was promoted late in the year when Stefon Diggs was banged up. There has been a consistent drum beat of positive news about Beebe this offseason. That has certainly garnered our attention and we will be watching him closely in the preseason. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [SEA - Blitz no match for QB Russell Wilson]() Source: Pro Football Focus Seattle Seahawks QB [Russell Wilson]( compiled a passer rating of 113.6 against the blitz in 2018 - the third-best mark in the league for a quarterback with at least 50 pass attempts - according to Pro Football Focus. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We don't need advanced data to know that Wilson was great against pressure. He remains calm under duress and his legs can buy him all the time he needs to find the open receiver. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 15. [NO - QB Drew Brees shredded the blitz in 2018]() Source: Pro Football Focus New Orleans Saints QB [Drew Brees]( compiled a passer rating of 120.0 against the blitz in 2018 - the second-best mark in the league for a quarterback with at least 50 pass attempts - according to Pro Football Focus. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Brees is really good under pressure. He does a good job of buying time and moving within the pocket to find a passing lane. Brees is not quite the player he used to be from a fantasy perspective but should still be able to post low-end QB1 numbers in 2019. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 16. [KC - QB Patrick Mahomes burns the blitz]() Source: Pro Football Focus Kansas City Chiefs QB [Patrick Mahomes]( compiled a league-best passer rating of 124.6 - minimum 50 attempts - against the blitz in 2018, per Pro Football Focus. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's pick your poison with Mahomes. If you blitz him, then he can hurt you ...bad. If you play back, then he will make passes underneath and still beat you. He may not get 50 touchdown passes again this year, but Mahomes is going to be a blast to watch and likely the first QB off the board in your fantasy drafts. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 17. [NFL - WR Allen Hurns asked to take cut]() Source: NFL Network - Jane Slater Updating previous reports, free-agent WR [Allen Hurns]( (Cowboys) was asked by the Dallas Cowboys to take a $4 million pay cut in 2019 before he declined the offer and was released Tuesday, July 23. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hurns was scheduled to make $6 million in 2019, including a $4 million base salary and $2 million in incentives, but the Cowboys wanted a restructured deal worth $2 million total with Hurns coming back from his fractured fibula/ankle suffered in the postseason. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 18. [NFL - QB Mark Sanchez retires]() Source: New York Post - Andrew Marchand Free-agent QB [Mark Sanchez]( (Redskins) retired from the NFL Tuesday, July 23, and will take a job with ESPN. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Sanchez was a first-round pick out of USC in the 2009 NFL draft. He had early success with the Jets, taking his team to the AFC Championship in the first two years of his career. It was all downhill for Sanchez after that and he never recovered from the embarrassing 'butt fumble' on Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 2012, between the New York Jets and New England Patriots. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 19. [NYJ - De'Angelo Henderson waived]() Source: NewYorkJets.com New York Jets RB De'Angelo Henderson was waived Tuesday, July 23. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Henderson was a sixth-round pick of the Broncos out of Coastal Carolina in the 2017 NFL draft. He landed with the Jets last year but only appeared in one game. Henderson is a compact runner with a low center of gravity when running between the tackles. The Jets are jam-packed at the position with Le'Veon Bell, Ty Montgomery, Eli McGuire and Trenton Cannon. Henderson might be able to latch on with another team. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 20. [BUF - RB Frank Gore should be fine]() Source: ESPN.com - Marcel Louis-Jacques Buffalo Bills RB [Frank Gore]( (undisclosed) should be fine despite being placed on the Active/Non-Football Injury list, according to sources. The team is looking to limit the wear on his body. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Gore has been grinding in the NFL since 2005, so he doesn't need many reps in training camp and the preseason. We should see him compete with LeSean McCoy and rookie Devin Singletary to establish a pecking order in the Bills backfield.
