[WAS - RB Derrius Guice injures hamstring]() Source: ABC 7 Washington - Erin Hawksworth Washington Redskins RB Derrius Guice (hamstring, knee) 'tweaked' his hamstring several weeks ago as he was continuing his rehab from ACL surgery. According to 106.7 The Fan contributor Erin Hawksworth via sources, Guice may miss the start of training camp as a result. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Guice just can't catch a break. He missed all of his rookie season in 2018 due to a knee injury and now this. A hamstring injury can linger, so expect Washington to take it easy on him as he deals with coming back from yet another injury. When healthy, Guice will get some work alongside Adrian Peterson in Washington's backfield. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [NYJ - TE Chris Herndon handed four-game ban](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport New York Jets TE [Chris Herndon]( received a four-game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy as a result of pleading guilty to DUI in June of 2018, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We knew that Herndon was set to be suspended for his 2018 DUI arrest, but most felt it would be a two-game ban. The Jets have a bye in Week 4, so Herndon won't be able to return until Week 6 against the Cowboys. Herndon is a darling for Fantasy GMs looking for a 'sleeper' at the tight end position. He's got a current ADP of TE19 (14.03) in 12-team PPR leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [TB - Tampa Bay eyeing RB Duke Johnson?]() Source: ProFootballTalk.com Cleveland Browns RB [Duke Johnson]( could be a player of interest for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Buccaneers might need to upgrade the running back talent on the roster. We like Peyton Barber and know that Ronald Jones does have upside due to his speed, but the Bucs might have room for a guy like Johnson. The Browns back has changed representation and wants to get out of Cleveland. We'll see if the Browns can find any takers before the start of the regular season. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [TB - WR Breshad Perriman creating buzz](=) Source: PewterReport.com - Mark Cook Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR [Breshad Perriman]( reportedly has many members of the team's brass 'most excited' about what he can bring to the table in 2019, team sources tell PewterReport.com. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] A first-round pick of the Ravens in the 2015 NFL draft, Perriman is trying to jump-start his career with another team. He was with the Browns last year and posted 16 catches for 340 yards and two touchdowns in 10 games. The depth chart in Tampa is wide open behind Mike Evans and Chris Godwin...plus, reports about Perriman this spring have seemed like more than just offseason fluff. We'll watch this in super deep dynasty formats but that's about it. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [NFL - Two-game ban for DT Malik McDowell]( Source: ESPN.com - Field Yates Free-agent DT Malik McDowell received a two-game suspension Friday, July 12, for violating the league's conduct policy. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] McDowell is facing three charges from two separate incidents. A second-round pick of the Seahawks in 2017, McDowell never saw the field in Seattle. An injury in an ATV accident could keep him from ever being cleared to play football again. Add in these felony charges (and this suspension) and you can see how McDowell's NFL career could be over before it really got started. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [KC - John Lovett offers versatility]( Source: The Kansas City Star - Brooke Pryor Kansas City Chiefs TE John Lovett will make the final roster, in the opinion of the Kansas City Star's Brooke Pryor, who writes that the team likes his energy and versatility. Lovett played quarterback at Princeton and spent time working with the first-, second- and third-string offenses during OTAs and minicamp. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Lovett is the Chiefs version of Taysom Hill in a way. He's a college quarterback who is now trying to make it in the pros at a different position. Lovett is athletic and can play as a 'gadget' weapon for the Chiefs if they want. He's likely headed for the practice squad this year. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [KC - Gehrig Dieter on track to make team]( Source: The Kansas City Star - Brooke Pryor Kansas City Chiefs WR [Gehrig Dieter]( is expected to make the 53-man roster, in the opinion of the Kansas City Star's Brooke Pryor, who notes that, in addition to his skills as a wideout, Dieter can contribute on special teams and has a good relationship with QB [Patrick Mahomes](. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Undrafted out of Alabama in 2017 (although he also played at Bowling Green and SMU), Dieter has been developing behind the scenes with the Chiefs. In crazy deep dynasty formats, we'll keep an eye on his progress. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [KC - WR Cody Thompson could stick]( Source: The Kansas City Star - Brooke Pryor Kansas City Chiefs WR Cody Thompson could make the 53-man roster if WR [Tyreek Hill]( begins the season serving a suspension, in the opinion of the Kansas City Star's Brooke Pryor, who notes that Thompson had a good camp. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Thompson is an intriguing deep dynasty prospect to monitor. A converted high school quarterback, Thompson plays with good size on underneath routes. He's not a speed guy, but Thompson can make plays with savvy and concentration as a receiver. We'll monitor him in training camp and the preseason to see how he's coming along. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [DEN - TE Troy Fumagalli could surprise]( Source: The Athletic - Nicki Jhabvala Denver Broncos TE Troy Fumagalli is someone to keep an eye on in camp, in the opinion of The Athletic's Nicki Jhabvala, who also lists him as a possible surprise contributor at a highly competitive tight end position where he and TE [Jake Butt]( might be vying for one roster spot. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Fumagalli missed his rookie season in 2018 due to a sports hernia. He has vacuum hands and can create mismatches as a receiver. Don't ask him to block, but Fumagalli has talent as a pass catcher. He looked good in minicamp and OTAs during the spring and is competing for a spot in the jam-packed Broncos tight end corps. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [BUF - Robert Foster a crucial piece?]() Source: ESPN.com - Bill Barnwell Buffalo Bills WR [Robert Foster]( is the 'most important wideout' for the Bills, according to Bill Barnwell of ESPN.com. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Foster is going to compete with veteran John Brown to be the favorite deep target for QB Josh Allen. Undrafted out of Alabama last year, Foster came on late last season. He topped 100 yards three times and another week put him over 90 yards once he started playing regularly after Week 10. The Bills added Cole Beasley and Brown earlier this offseason and we'll see how that shakes up the depth chart behind Zay Jones. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [DEN - Odds stacked against TE Noah Fant?]( Source: ESPN.com - Bill Barnwell Denver Broncos TE Noah Fant's impact is 'more likely to come in 2020 and beyond' because only four rookie tight ends in NFL history have reached 700 receiving yards, according to Bill Barnwell of ESPN.com [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We don't think anyone should be expecting 700 yards receiving for Fant as a rookie. However, projecting him for 40-plus catches is not outlandish. First, he's catching passes from QB Joe Flacco who historically loves to go to the tight end early and often. Second, Fant is playing in a Shanahan/Kubiak offense under new Broncos OC Rich Scangarello and that could boost his numbers. The Broncos selected Fant in the first round of the 2019 NFL draft for a reason, and they'll use him often...albeit in some form of committee at tight end.
