[NYJ - NYJ targeting QB Peyton Manning?]( Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Mike Florio Former QB [Peyton Manning]( is being rumored to be a target for the New York Jets' general manager vacancy. Manning played under head coach Adam Gase with the Denver Broncos and fits the mold the team is seeking. 'It's more than a talent-evaluation guy,' Jets CEO Christopher W. Johnson said. 'I want a great manager, a communicator, who can collaborate well with the building. I'm convinced we're going to find that person.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Manning is destined to run a team some day. First, perhaps as a general manager. Then, we could see him as a team owner one day. Manning is all about football and has a great relationship with Adam Gase. He's turned down other job offers, both in the media and NFL front offices, so we'll see if the Jets offer is more enticing to the future Hall of Fame quarterback. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [BAL - WR Michael Floyd gets one-year deal]( Source: United Press International - Al Butler Updating a previous report, the Baltimore Ravens signed WR [Michael Floyd]( (Redskins) to a one-year contract on Friday, May 17. Financial terms were not immediately disclosed. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This is Floyd's fifth team in the last four years. We'll see if he can stay healthy and work his way up the depth chart. The Ravens have continued to revamp their WR corps as they look for quality weapons to put around QB Lamar Jackson. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [TB - WR Breshad Perriman building chemistry]( Source: PewterReport.com - Matt Matera Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR [Breshad Perriman]( said he is continuing to develop his timing with QB [Jameis Winston](, and he expects 'big plays all around' in head coach Bruce Arians offense this year. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Perriman got a fresh start with the Browns in 2018 and he was going to stay for the 2019 season on a one-year, $4 million deal. Instead, the Browns traded for Odell Beckham Jr. and Perriman wanted out. We'll see if he can thrive in the downfield passing game Bucs head coach Bruce Arians is known for. Perriman is likely fourth on the depth chart at this time. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [BUF - Christian Wade shows his potential]() Source: WKBW.com - Joe Buscaglia Buffalo Bills RB Christian Wade showed that the same abilities that made him a rugby star could translate to the NFL with his performance during rookie minicamp, in the opinion of Joe Buscaglia of WKBW.com. 'He showed great speed with the ball in his hands, the ability to set defenders up to make them miss, and a natural vision down the field,' Buscaglia said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Wade was assigned to the Bills back in April as part of the NFL's International Player Pathway Program. As a rugby star, you already know that Wade is tough and not afraid of contact. Wade played at the highest rugby levels in the UK but retired in 2018 to pursue a career in the NFL. We love his story and are excited to see if he can make the 53-man roster. Monitor him in deep dynasty formats. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [CIN - Rodney Anderson should be ready for camp]( Source: The Cincinnati Enquirer - Fletcher Page Cincinnati Bengals RB Rodney Anderson (knee) said he expects to be completely recovered from his torn anterior cruciate ligament by the time training camp begins. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Anderson tore his ACL two games into the season last year, so he should be close to 100 percent healthy by the time training camp rolls around. He's going to compete with fellow rookie Trayveon Williams for the third-string job behind Joe Mixon and Gio Bernard. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [DAL - ILB Jaylon Smith extension talks begin]() Source: 247 Sports - Patrik Walker Dallas Cowboys LB Jaylon Smith has begun talks with the team on a contract extension, according to sources. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] A second-round pick in the 2016 NFL draft, Smith is in the final year of his rookie contract. The Cowboys have a lot of big contract to look at with guys like QB Dak Prescott and WR Amari Cooper coming up. Smith won't get a huge contract and may have to take a team-friendly deal. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [KC - Darwin Thompson making plays](=) Source: Chiefs.com - B.J. Kissel Kansas City Chiefs RB Darwin Thompson was a 'playmaker in the passing game' during rookie minicamp, according to B.J. Kissel of Chiefs.com. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Thompson has the makings to be a perfect change-of-pace back for the Chiefs. He's 5'8" 200 pounds and doesn't shy away from running inside. He's got great feet and that helps him run through trash or set up defenders in the open field. We'll keep an eye on him in PPR dynasty formats. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [MIN - Alexander Mattison looks the part](=) Source: Vikings.com - Eric Smith Minnesota Vikings RB Alexander Mattison 'looked shifty coming out of the backfield' at rookie minicamp, according to Eric Smith of Vikings.com. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Some in the scouting community compare Mattison's game to former Ravens running back Alex Collins. A third-round pick out of Boise State in the 2019 NFL draft, Mattison is a rhythm runner who can handle a large workload. He's not going to 'wow' you with speed, but he runs with great intent and has a good feel for running inside. Mattison is also a capable receiver out of the backfield. He's going to push for playing time this year, likely as the primary backup to Dalvin Cook. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [MIN - Olabisi Johnson flashes potential](=) Source: Vikings.com - Eric Smith Minnesota Vikings WR Olabisi Johnson 'stood out' in one-on-one drills and made big plays during team drills during rookie minicamp, according to Eric Smith of Vikings.com. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Johnson always looked solid on tape during his college career at Colorado State, playing alongside players like Rashard Higgins, Preston Williams and Michael Gallup. He's a nuanced route runner who is tough and not afraid to go over the middle. Johnson can also help out on specials teams as a return man or gunner. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [CAR - Terry Godwin makes early impressiong](=) Source: Panthers.com - Bill Voth Carolina Panthers WR Terry Godwin 'seemed to catch everything thrown his way' during rookie minicamp, according to Bill Voth of Panthers.com. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Godwin was a seventh-round pick for the Panthers in the 2019 NFL draft. Coming out of Georgia, Godwin did some good things in the pre-draft process. He was outstanding out the East-West Shrine Game practices and is one of the most natural receivers in his class. Godwin is not the biggest receiver and will struggle against more physical coverage. However, he is fluid in his routes and has soft hands and good concentration. We'll monitor him in deep dynasty formats. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [CLE - WR Jarvis Landry nursing injury]( Source: Akron Beacon Journal - Nate Ulrich Cleveland Browns WR [Jarvis Landry]( (undisclosed) said he has been held out of spring practices because of a minor injury. 'Everything's going well, man,' Landry said. 'And then when I get my opportunity to go out there and practice, I will and it'll be back to normal and fun.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Browns are just being cautious here. In 2018, Landry's first season with the Browns, his production on the field was inconsistent. Landry will benefit from the presence of Odell Beckham Jr. this season. That will take the coverage away from Landry and open him up further for the best part of his game -- running after the catch. Landry has a current ADP of WR22 (5.03) in 12-team PPR leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- That'll do it for today, Folks.
