Howdy {NAME},
Hi Folks,
Happy Mother's Day to you.
I'm sharing this from my friend [Jen Hatmaker](. it's slanted toward Church but I think it applies to most everyone and I think it's a good word.
Mother's Day is complicated for a great many people. Maybe for you. Or for someone you know. If you know someone who could use this, please share it with them. Or take to heart for yourself. And for the rest of us, keep this kind of thing in mind. It's WAY more common than most people, especially men it seems, realize.
Plus a [sweet picture of my Mom](. She died a few months ago. Me posting this isn't about that. I posted this last year. It's just a nice picture of my Mom. I'm doing fine there.
Much love for y'all.
From Jen:
"Dear People of the Church World, (it's) Mother's Day which for some folks is a lovely, happy day and for others it is a nightmare. As a friend and sister and daughter to people for whom "motherhood" only means loss, unfulfilled dreams, or bruised memories, may I say this:
"If going to church on Mother's Day is simply an exercise in holding in your tears until you can unleash them in the car on the way out of the parking lot, just stay home tomorrow. It's okay. You won't lose your salvation and the church won't fold. You aren't the only one that has to white knuckle through the traditional Mother's Day sermon, because it leaves you out of a story you deeply wish you were a part of...or you miss being a part of.
"Go to brunch with people you love. Shop at your favorite book store. Take a walk on the prettiest stretch in town. Watch your favorite movie. Be kind and nurturing to your own self. Send a text to some of the mothers in your life you admire; generosity out of pain is a special brand of healing work.
"The rest of us: think through the people in your life that might benefit from a short moment of acknowledgment tomorrow. A few years ago, I sent a long email to five of my closest girlfriends on Mother's Day, all of whom lost their moms at really young ages. I told them how proud their mothers would be if they could see them today and what beautiful legacies they were carrying on. I affirmed their pain and reminded them it was okay to still be sad all these years later.
"You are deeply loved and seen. You are valuable and a gift to this world, even if "motherhood" is a painful space. Be so kind to yourself tomorrow, beloveds."
- [Jen Hatmaker](
Ok, you ask me to send this email each day to hear about Football. And we've got that too. Let's go.

1. [PHI - Miles Sanders the top back in Philly?](=)
Source: ESPN.com - Field Yates
Philadelphia Eagles RB Miles Sanders 'has a chance to emerge as the most valuable piece' of the Philadelphia backfield, according to Field Yates of ESPN.com.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Eagles have been employing a backfield committee under Doug Pederson, but they have never had a back of Sanders' physical abilities. He could surprise in redraft leagues, but almost also requires a top 3-4 rookie pick in dynasty leagues.

2. [ATL - GM happy with WR Julio Jones contract talks](=)
Source: The Athletic - Jeff Schultz
Atlanta Falcons WR [Julio Jones](' agent has been talking with the Falcons about a contract extension for Jones, and general manager Thomas Dimitroff said he is very encouraged with the talks. Dimitroff said there is no timetable for an agreement.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
It sounded like the two sides were making headway towards an agreement earlier in the offseason, so expect this to get done before the season. Jones is still playing at a very high level and should become one of the five highest paid players at his position.

3. [ATL - RB Devonta Freeman will be ready for camp](
Source: AtlantaFalcons.com - Kelsey Conway
Atlanta Falcons RB [Devonta Freeman]( (groin) will be a full participant at the start of training camp, according to head coach Dan Quinn.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
This is a great sign for his 2019 value. He has dealt with a myriad of injuries over the last two years and it has been fair to wonder if he'll be his old self again. If he can make it through an entire camp and preseason with full participation, Freeman will be a lot more attractive as your RB2.

4. [CHI - David Montgomery a feature back?](=)
Source: ESPN.com - Dan Graziano
Chicago Bears RB David Montgomery could become a 'three-down back' for the offense, according to Dan Graziano of ESPN.com.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Montgomery has three-down skills but so does Mike Davis and Tarik Cohen is one of the most dangerous receiving backs in the league. For now this is a committee, but if Montgomery impresses, he could clarify the situation in his favor over the course of his rookie contract.

5. [HOU - Best to come from QB Deshaun Watson?](
Source: Houston Chronicle - Aaron Wilson
Houston Texans QB [Deshaun Watson]( will 'always make a jump' in performance, according to head coach Bill O'Brien. 'I've always said that I don't think there's any ceiling on [Deshaun Watson](,' O'Brien said.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Watson has been doing his thing behind maybe the worst offensive line in the league. The team invested a first and second round pick in the line this year, but it could take time for those picks to pay dividends. Watson could also benefit from a full year of good health from Will Fuller and Keke Coutee.

6. [CAR - QB Cam Newton not changing style]()
Source: The Athletic - Joseph Person
Carolina Panthers QB [Cam Newton]( (shoulder) said he is too old to change his playing style.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Newton just turned 30 so this is an apt comment. It's both good and bad news for fantasy as he's going to continue to put his body at risk to gain yards and fantasy points on the ground, but he'll also be prone to taking hits on the shoulder that let him down and had to be surgically repaired again this offseason.

7. [DAL - Mike Weber to undergo MRI](
Source: The Dallas Morning News - Jon Machota
Dallas Cowboys RB Mike Weber (knee) did not participate in the afternoon practice Saturday, May 11, because of a knee injury and is scheduled to undergo an MRI to determine the severity of the injury.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Weber could be the first injury casualty of the rookie class. He had a chance to be the primary backup to fellow Buckeye Ezekiel Elliott. Fourth-round Tony Pollard has WR/RB versatility, but he could get more work at running back if Weber's injury is serious, in addition to the Cowboys becoming running back buyers in the third wave of free agency.

8. [ATL - Atlanta adds Tony Brooks-James](=)
Source: AtlantaFalcons.com
Undrafted free-agent RB Tony Brooks-James (Oregon) signed with the Atlanta Falcons Saturday, May 11. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Brooks-James is a speed merchant who can make things happen in space, but isn't suited to run between the tackles. He could land on the Falcons practice squad.

9. [NYG - Mike Remmers joins Giants]()
Source: NFL Network - Mike Garafolo
Free-agent OT Mike Remmers (Vikings) agreed to terms with the New York Giants Saturday, May 11. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Remmers only made it two years into a modest five year deal with the Vikings. He'll be a depth signing for an improved Giants offensive line.

10. [LAC - Emeke Egbule signs contract](
Source: Chargers.com
Los Angeles Chargers sixth-round draft choice LB Emeke Egbule signed a four-year contract with the Chargers Saturday, May 11. Financial terms were not disclosed.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Egbule is a high-end athletic talent who has a lot to learn about being an edge rusher and NFL linebacker. He's an ideal practice squad candidate to check back in on at this time next year.

11. [ATL - Two safeties making good progress](
Source: AtlantaFalcons.com - Kelsey Conway
Atlanta Falcons SS Keanu Neal (knee) and FS Ricardo Allen (Achilles) are making good progress in their rehabs and hopefully will be full participants at the start of training camp, according to head coach Dan Quinn.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Falcons will have a new starting corner outside in Isaiah Oliver, but will enjoy more continuity than last year if Neal and Allen can stay healthy. "Hopefully" isn't the most reassuring word, so we'll continue to monitor their progress.

12. [NO - Cyril Grayson trying out]()
Source: The Times-Picayune - Josh Katzenstein
Free-agent WR Cyril Grayson (Bears) is participating in the New Orleans Saints rookie minicamp this weekend on a tryout basis.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Grayson is a track standout who had been on the Seahawks, Bears, Texans and Colts practice squads, but has failed to stick. He's close to his college LSU and could find a spot on the Saints practice squad next with a good tryout and summer.

13. [CIN - Cincinnati signs three UDFAs](=)
Source: ESPN.com - Katherine Terrell
The Cincinnati Bengals signed undrafted free-agent WR Ventell Bryant (Temple) and LBs Noah Dawkins (The Citadel) and Sterling Sheffield (Maine) Saturday, May 11.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Bryant has good size, hands, and routes, but lacks speed and has struggled with injuries. Matt Waldman favorite Stanley Morgan Jr is the favorite to win a receiver spot from the undrafted class, but Bryant will provide competition if he can stay healthy.

14. [SEA - Seattle to sign DT Al Woods]()
Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero
Updating a previous report, the Seattle Seahawks will sign free-agent DT Al Woods (Colts) to a one-year deal worth $2.25 million, according to a source.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Seahawks won't get hit in the comp pick formula for this signing because of the timing. He'll eat up some rotational nose tackle snaps and start in a pinch.

15. [LAC - LAC inks two more draft picks]()
Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Charean Williams
Los Angeles Chargers QB Easton Stick and LB Drue Tranquill were signed to four-year deals on Friday, May 10.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Stick is ultra-athletic but underwhelmed in draft season as a small school prospect, which pegged him as a long-term project. That's fine by the Chargers, who likely will have Philip Rivers for at least another year or two.

16. [NO - DT Sylvester Williams trying out](=)
Source: The Athletic - Larry Holder
Free-agent DT Sylvester Williams (Dolphins) is participating in the New Orleans Saints rookie minicamp this weekend on a tryout basis.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Williams was a first round pick in 2013, but hasn't ever lived up to the billing. He started a few games for the Lions last year before being released during the season. He could catch on during the season if a team needs someone to provide defensive line depth, but it seems like he's past the point where teams think he can fulfill his potential.

17. [ARI - Arizona signs Andy Isabella, Hakeem Butler](=)
Source: AZCardinals.com - Kyle Odegard
Arizona Cardinals second-round draft choice WR Andy Isabella and fourth-round draft choice WR Hakeem Butler signed four-year contracts with the Cardinals Friday, May 10. Financial terms were not disclosed.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Isabella and Butler were drafted to be the prototype inside and outside receivers in the air raid attack. If the Cardinals and Kyler Murray's transitions are both smooth, either or both of the rookies could have fantasy relevance this year and both are exciting late first/early second round dynasty rookie picks.
