[OAK - RB Marshawn Lynch placed on Injured Reserve]( Source: ESPN.com - Field Yates Oakland Raiders RB [Marshawn Lynch]( (groin) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Monday, Oct. 22. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This move shows the injury was a little more severe than originally thought. Lynch may have surgery to repair the damage. He's eligible to return for the Raiders after eight weeks out of action. The Raiders are already tanking on the season, so Lynch may have played his final game with Oakland. The team moves forward with Doug Martin as their lead back and Jalen Richard should get some more work as a change-of-pace option. [DAL - WR Amari Cooper heading to Dallas]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Oakland Raiders WR [Amari Cooper]( is being acquired by the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for a first-round draft pick, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Cooper has a ton of talent but injuries and inconsistencies have plagued his game over the last two years. Perhaps a change of scenery will help. The Cowboys have been devoid of WR talent this year and get a huge boost for the passing game with the addition of Cooper. The team might want to restructure his deal and get an extension done as Cooper is under their control through the 2019 season. [NE - RB Sony Michel injury update]() Source: ESPNBoston.com - Mike Reiss Updating a previous report, New England Patriots RB [Sony Michel]( (knee) will be considered week-to-week after an MRI on Monday, Oct. 22, revealed no structural damage, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] We get good news on Michel as previous reports had indicated. Michel may miss time due to this injury but he might return sooner than originally thought. In the meantime, the Patriots should turn to James White in Michel's absence. [OAK - More on RB Marshawn Lynch's injury](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Updating a previous report, Oakland Raiders RB [Marshawn Lynch]( (core, groin) was put on the Reserve/Injured list more so because of a core muscle issue than his groin injury. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] He may have had surgery this weekend. If he did then he could return in eight weeks. [PIT - Le'Veon Bell will not report this week](=) Source: NFL.com - Jim Trotter Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell will not report to the team this week, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Reports indicated he would report last week when the Steelers were on bye and he didn't. The speculation then was that he would be back at the facility on Monday...and that's not the case. Bell could hold out as long as possible, and that puts him out of action through Week 10. [OAK - Oakland ships WR Amari Cooper for draft pick]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Oakland Raiders WR [Amari Cooper]( is being traded to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for a first-round draft pick, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Raiders are tanking under head coach Jon Gruden. He is reshaping the team in his image and getting rid of key players like Cooper (and previously Khalil Mack). They now turn to Jordy Nelson as their lead wide receiver and Martavis Bryant should get a bump in targets and snaps as well. Seth Roberts should win their no.3 spot in the WR corps. [JAX - QB Blake Bortles will start](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Jacksonville Jaguars QB [Blake Bortles]( will return as starting quarterback in Week 8, according to head coach Doug Marrone. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Here we go Jacksonville....again. Marrone said he believes Bortles gives the Jaguars the best chance to win. They paid the man this offseason to be their starter and now they'll roll forward with him through his struggles. [NE - TE Rob Gronkowski could be ready for Week 8]( Source: NFL Network - Mike Giardi New England Patriots TE [Rob Gronkowski]( (back) was sidelined in Week 7 after experiencing back spasms Friday, Oct. 19 - a problem team doctors spent 'a considerable amount of time' trying to alleviate over the weekend. According to a team source, the problem is expected to be a 'short-term thing' and there is hope he will be able to play in Week 8 against the Buffalo Bills. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Keep an eye on Gronkowski's status during the week of practice. Cooper now takes over as the lead WR for the Cowboys and should become the centerpiece of their passing attack when he's up to speed in the offense. Albert Wilson (hip) and Kenny Stills (groin) are both out for Week 8, so that makes Grant a starter on the outside opposite DeVante Parker. We'll see plenty of Danny Amendola from the slot. [JAX - RB Jamaal Charles released]( Source: Jaguars.com Jacksonville Jaguars RB [Jamaal Charles]( was released Monday, Oct. 22. LB Nick DeLuca was promoted to the active roster from the practice squad in a corresponding move. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] That didn't last long. Charles was just picked up by the Jaguars a couple of weeks ago. He didn't do much in two games (six carries for seven yards) with the team and now finds himself back as a street free agent. The Jaguars move forward with the newly acquired Carlos Hyde and T.J. Yeldon...that is until Leonard Fournette can come back from his lingering hamstring injury. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] That move was expected when they let him go a few days ago. Savage is their veteran backup plan behind starter C.J. [IND - Indy had interest in WR Amari Cooper]( Source: NFL Network - Michael Silver Dallas Cowboys WR [Amari Cooper]( was pursued by the Indianapolis Colts before being traded to the Cowboys. Whether or not the Colts made an offer was not disclosed. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Colts could use some help at the WR position. They didn't get Amari Cooper but perhaps they could land another WR on the trade block like DeVante Parker (Dolphins) or Demaryius Thomas (Broncos). [PHI - Philly made offer for WR Amari Cooper]( Source: NFL Network - Michael Silver Dallas Cowboys WR [Amari Cooper]( was pursued by the Philadelphia Eagles before being traded to the Cowboys. The Eagles had offered a second-round pick for the wide receiver. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Raiders received a first-round pick from the Cowboys in exchange for Cooper. That gives them three, first-round picks in the 2019 NFL draft. The Eagles missed out on adding a talent like Cooper but perhaps could land someone like DeVante Parker (Dolphins) or Demaryius Thomas (Broncos) instead. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's a short week for the Dolphins as they play on Thursday night...and they're going to be really shorthanded at the position with Stills (groin) and Albert Wilson (hip) out of action. [ARI - CB Patrick Peterson won't be traded]() Source: NFL Network - Mike Garafolo Arizona Cardinals CB Patrick Peterson being traded is 'out of the question,' according to head coach Steve Wilks. Wilks added that he will speak to Peterson about his desire to be traded, adding that everyone's focus should be on turning the team around. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Reports came out on Monday that Peterson wants to be traded. Wilks may say that they're not trading the star corner away but he doesn't control that decision. We'll see if the Cardinals can get a haul for the 2011 first-round pick and perennial Pro Bowler. [HOU - WR Keke Coutee not dealing with serious injury](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Houston Texans WR [Keke Coutee]( (hamstring) is likely to miss Week 8 against the Miami Dolphins with a hamstring injury, but he is not expected to miss much more time than that, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Good news for the Texans here. The rookie wide receiver is a dangerous run-after-the-catch weapon when healthy. He'll miss the Texans game on Thursday night against the Dolphins but he should be ready for the road game against the Broncos the following week. [NE - Confidence growing in WR Josh Gordon]() Source: ESPNBoston.com - Mike Reiss New England Patriots WR [Josh Gordon]( is reportedly doing what he needs to do in order to gain the trust of [Tom Brady](, as the latter praised the former during a radio interview Monday, Oct. 22.'I think our confidence (in Gordon) is growing and growing and growing ... I'm excited to see where we're going,' Brady told the Kirk & Callahan radio show. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Brady is trusting Gordon and the team is trusting him to play more snaps each week. We saw that trust come to fruition on Sunday against the Bears as Gordon recorded his first 100-yard game with the Patriots. Fantasy GMs should start moving him up the cheatsheets. So long as he's earned the trust of Brady, Gordon is worth starting as a flex with WR2...or even WR1...upside. [CAR - WR Torrey Smith has knee issue](=) Source: Panthers.com - Max Henson Carolina Panthers WR [Torrey Smith]( (knee) will be checked out Monday, Oct. 22, after his knee swelled up from a hard hit. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Smith has provided some veteran punch to the Panthers WR corps. He's caught nine passes over the last two weeks and Smith is a reliable target for QB Cam Newton on occasion. Smith's injury is not believed to be structural, according to head coach Ron Rivera. [BUF - RB LeSean McCoy in concussion protocol]( Source: ESPN.com - Mike Rodak Updating previous reports, Buffalo Bills RB [LeSean McCoy]( (head) has been placed in the NFL's concussion protocol after suffering a head injury during the team's loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, Oct. 21. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] McCoy took a big hit against the Colts and looked to injure his leg or ankle on the play. It ended up that he was concussed. In the protocol now, McCoy will have to be cleared before he gets back to practice. Chris Ivory would be the lead back for the Bills if McCoy has to miss time. [CIN - WR John Ross aggravates groin injury]() Source: The Cincinnati Enquirer - Paul Dehner Jr. Cincinnati Bengals WR [John Ross]( (groin) departed early in Week 7 versus the Kansas City Chiefs due to a groin injury and did not return. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Ross has great speed but we hardly ever get to see it because he seems to be banged up nearly every time you turn around. The Bengals have Tyler Boyd as their second threat in the passing game opposite A.J. Green. We'll see how long this groin injury keeps Ross out, but the team has been fine without him for most of his year-and-a-half pro career.
