[PIT - WR Antonio Brown OK after practice scare]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Pittsburgh Steelers WR [Antonio Brown]( (leg) limped off the practice field Monday, Aug. 13, according to writer Ed Bouchette but did not aggravate his quadriceps issue and is fine, according to coach Mike Tomlin. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hear that noise? That's a collective sigh from millions of Fantasy GMs upon hearing this news. A scare to be sure, but this sounds like it's not a big deal. We'll keep an eye on this one for you though. Antonio Brown later accused the Steelers writer, Ed Bouchette of making (stuff) up. Stay tuned. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [NYG - RB Saquon Barkley has strain]() Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Jordan Raanan New York Giants RB Saquon Barkley (hamstring) suffered a mild hamstring strain during practice Monday, Aug. 13. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hamstring strains can be problematic if not given enough time to heal. Barkley was great in his preseason debut but this injury may slow him down a bit in the near future. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [TB - Peyton Barber considered starter]() Source: Tampa Bay Times - Rick Stroud Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB [Peyton Barber]( is currently considered the team's starting running back, according to head coach Dirk Koetter. Koetter said the team also plans to use RB Ronald Jones this season but thought Jones' performance in the first preseason game was average. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Barber is a good all-purpose back who could outperform his current ADP of RB53 (13.01) in 12-team PPR leagues. Jones is an exciting rookie with gamebreaking speed but he still has plenty to learn (pass protection, etc) in order to get a larger role. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [NYG - Coach expects RB Saquon Barkley to be fine]() Source: New York Post - Paul Schwartz Updating a previous report, New York Giants RB Saquon Barkley (leg) appeared to be dealing with a left leg injury during practice Monday, Aug. 13, but head coach Pat Shurmur said he thinks Barkley will be fine. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This seems like a minor issue. We'll be able to get more information once practice continues this week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [BUF - QB Josh Allen moves up depth chart for a day]() Source: BuffaloBills.com - Chris Brown Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen worked with the second-team offense during practice Monday, Aug. 13. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's just a matter of time. Allen had been working exclusively with the third-team offense since the start of training camp. They hope he's their franchise quarterback and Allen will get more opportunities as the year goes on. He may not begin the season as the starter but we expect the rookie from Wyoming to take over at some point in 2018. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [DAL - Darren Carrington signs with Dallas]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Undrafted free-agent WR Darren Carrington II (Utah) is signing an undisclosed deal with the Dallas Cowboys Monday, Aug. 13, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] At 6'2" 199 pounds, Carrington does a good job of getting down the field and tracking the ball. He's not a physical receiver and Carrington needs to clean up his route running. The Cowboys are thin at the position, but Carrington will still have a tough time cracking the 53-man roster. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [LAC - Je'Ron Hamm claimed by Chargers]( Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Josh Alper The Los Angeles Chargers claimed TE Je'Ron Hamm off waivers from the Seattle Seahawks Monday, Aug. 13. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hamm came out of Louisiana-Monroe undrafted in 2014 and signed with the Saints. A wide receiver in college, the Saints moved him to tight end and that's where he's lined up as he's bounced around to a few teams over the last few years. The Chargers are looking for pass-catching help at the tight end position ever since Hunter Henry went down with a season ending knee injury earlier this year. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [DEN - TE Austin Traylor not at practice](=) Source: 9News.com - Mike Klis Denver Broncos TE [Austin Traylor]( (shoulder) was not present for practice Monday, Aug. 13, due to a sprained shoulder. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Traylor has been getting most of the first-team reps with the Broncos in practice since Jeff Heuerman had been missing time. We see Jake Butt as a player to emerge at the position for the Broncos with Traylor trying to latch on as a reserve player. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [GB - QB Aaron Rodgers should play this week](=) Source: Milwaukee Journal Sentinel - Tom Silverstein Green Bay Packers QB [Aaron Rodgers]( is expected to play in Week 2 of the preseason, although he is less likely to play in the last two preseason games. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Interesting to note they would play him in the second game more than the 'dress rehearsal' for the regular season aka week three of the preseason. Either way, the Packers are back in a Super Bowl window so long as Rodgers is their quarterback. Fantasy GMs are taking Rodgers at QB1 (3.11) in 12-team PPR leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [SEA - RB Rashaad Penny leaves early]() Source: The Seattle Times - Bob Condotta Seattle Seahawks RB Rashaad Penny (undisclosed) left practice early Monday, Aug. 13, but offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer said he thinks Penny will be fine. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Penny, the Seahawks first-round pick in the 2018 NFL draft, is competing with Chris Carson to be the lead back in 2018. The rookie from San Diego State runs with more nuance than you would think for a 225 pound back. He needs to prove himself in pass protection if he wants a large role with the team this season. Fantasy GMs are taking him off the board at RB27 (6.01) in 12-team PPR leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [MIA - WR Kenny Stills remains sidelined]( Source: MiamiDolphins.com - Alain Poupart Miami Dolphins WR [Kenny Stills]( (ankle) did not participate in practice Monday, Aug. 13. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Stills has missed plenty of time in training camp due to this ankle injury. The team has always said they're going to take it easy on the veteran receiver so this problem doesn't linger into the regular season. He's got WR3/flex upside for Fantasy GMs in 2018 and Stills has a current ADP of WR52 (11.08). [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [BUF - QB AJ McCarron, QB Nathan Peterman on the field]() Source: BuffaloBills.com - Chris Brown Buffalo Bills QB [AJ McCarron]( (leg) and [Nathan Peterman]( (arm) participated in practice Monday, Aug. 13, after both suffered minor injuries during practice Sunday, Aug. 12. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] They're trying to establish a depth chart order during the rest of training camp. McCarron worked with the first-team offense, while Peterman worked with the third-team offense. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [NE - RB Sony Michel still out]( Source: MassLive.com - Andrew Callahan New England Patriots RB Sony Michel (knee) is out of practice Monday, Aug. 13. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Michel left the field with a trainer way back on Tuesday, August 1st. His status for the start of the regular season is unknown. We don't expect to see the rookie from Georgia in the preseason. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [NYJ - QB Sam Darnold has finger wrapped](=) Source: New York Post - Brian Costello New York Jets QB Sam Darnold (finger) had his left ring finger wrapped Monday, Aug. 13, after his hand was stepped on in the first preseason game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Darnold was able to play with this minor finger injury in his preseason debut. This is a minor issue and shouldn't keep him out of action. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 15. [LAC - QB Cardale Jones in line for backup role]() Source: NFL.com - Nick Shook Los Angeles Chargers QB [Cardale Jones]( has an edge on QB [Geno Smith]( for the backup quarterback job, according to Nick Shook of NFL.com. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's not a great group behind starter Philip Rivers. Fantasy GMs in dynasty formats may have been holding onto Jones (in super deep leagues), so continue to monitor his progress.
