[NYJ - RB Elijah McGuire not out for the year]() Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Updating a previous report, New York Jets RB [Elijah McGuire]( (foot) does have a broken foot but the injury is not expected to end his season, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's good news for McGuire if true. He suffered a foot injury that requires surgery and is clearly a candidate to begin the regular season on the Injured Reserve/Return list. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [NYJ - RB Elijah McGuire to have surgery](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport New York Jets RB [Elijah McGuire]( (foot) suffered a fracture in his foot earlier this week and will need to undergo surgery, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] He is expected to miss an extended period of time and could start the season on the Reserve/Injured list. McGuire's injury opens up more opportunity for Bilal Powell on passing downs. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [NYJ - NYJ meeting with RB Alfred Morris](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Free-agent RB [Alfred Morris]( (Cowboys) is meeting with the New York Jets Saturday, July 28, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Jets have to add depth at the RB position after losing Eli McGuire to a foot injury. His status is unknown at the time, but the second-year back is expected to miss significant time. Morris is quite unlike McGuire in many aspects. He's not the receiving threat that McGuire is and would be more of an addition for veteran depth at the position. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [ARI - QB Sam Bradford on track to start]() Source: AZCardinals.com - Kyle Odegard Arizona Cardinals QB [Sam Bradford]( is the clear favorite for the starting quarterback job, according to head coach Steve Wilks. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's not a surprise given Bradford's experience as a starter in the NFL. QBs Josh Rosen and Mike Glennon will be competing for the No. 2 quarterback job. We expect 2018 first-round pick Josh Rosen to take over at some point this season as he's the quarterback of the future. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [KC - RB Kareem Hunt continues to be limited]( Source: ESPN.com - Adam Teicher Kansas City Chiefs RB [Kareem Hunt]( (hamstring) was limited to individual drills during practice Saturday, July 28. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's a wise move for the Chiefs. Head coach Andy Reid said the team is easing Hunt back into practice because he does not want Hunt to suffer a setback. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [KC - Rave reviews for WR Sammy Watkins]() Source: The Associated Press Kansas City Chiefs WR [Sammy Watkins]( was praised for his work ethic by head coach Andy Reid, and QB Patrick Mahomes said it has been easy to develop chemistry with Watkins. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Watkins won't always be drawing #1 corners, and his quarterback has a tremendous deep arm and creativity. This should be be a bounceback year for him, the only question is how big it will be. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [NYJ - Tion Green works out for Jets]( Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Rich Cimini Free-agent RB [Tion Green]( (Lions) worked out for the New York Jets Saturday, July 28, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Released by the Lions in May, Green hasn't received much interest on the open market. Green is a straight-line power runner with little wiggle to his game. The Jets are looking for added RB depth after Eli McGuire went down with a foot injury on Saturday. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [NYJ - RB Orleans Darkwa visits Jets]() Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Jordan Raanan Free-agent RB [Orleans Darkwa]( (Giants) met with the New York Jets Saturday, July 28, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] That's the second AFC East team that Darkwa has visited now. He spent some time with the Bills earlier this week. Back in June, Darkwa revealed via Twitter that he has been medically cleared for football activities following offseason surgery to remove a plate from his leg. In 15 games with the Giants last year, Darkwa rushed for 751 yards and averaged 4.4 yards per carry. Now that training camp is here around the league, some team may call on him for veteran depth and to compete for a roster spot. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [IND - Indy will meet with RB Orleans Darkwa]() Source: ESPN.com - Jordan Raanan Free-agent RB [Orleans Darkwa]( (Giants) is scheduled to meet with the Indianapolis Colts in the near future. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] With all this recent interest in Darkwa, we could see him signed soon. The Bills and Jets have already visited with him, and the veteran back could find a new home now that training camps are open. The Colts already have a jam-packed backfield with plenty of talent so he may be an odd fit there. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [SEA - Duane Brown receives extension](=) Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Seattle Seahawks OT Duane Brown agreed to terms on a three-year extension Saturday, July 28, worth $36.5 million, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Seahawks lock up their blind-side protector who was in the final year of his contract. They added him via trade with the Texans last year, and Brown can continue to help out an offensive line that ranked among the worst units in the league. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [HOU - WR Will Fuller bulks up]() Source: Houston Chronicle - Aaron Wilson Houston Texans WR [Will Fuller]( said he up to 185 pounds by working out and eating more often and has not lost any of his speed. He bulked up so he could improve his durability. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Fuller is a speed demon, and we're certain this extra weight is not going to slow him down. Instead, the increased size should help him better deal with the punishment that he's going to take in the NFL. A first-round pick in 2016, Fuller has never played a full 16 game season and has missed eight games the last two years due to injuries. He's currently going off the board at WR31 (6.12) in 12-team PPR leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [TEN - TE Delanie Walker sits out Saturday]() Source: TitansOnline.com - Jim Wyatt Tennessee Titans TE [Delanie Walker]( did not participate in practice Saturday, July 28, because it was a scheduled day off for him. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Veterans are just going to get some breathers during training camp. This day was one of those for Walker. He's a TE1 for Fantasy GMs, currently going off the board at TE8 (7.06) in 12-team PPR leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [DET - WR Marvin Jones unable to finish practice](=) Source: Detroit Free Press - Dave Birkett Detroit Lions WR [Marvin Jones]( (knee) left practice early Saturday, July 28, after suffering an apparent knee injury but said his knee was fine after practice. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Jones got some attention from the trainers and tried to walk the injury off. As long as he doesn't miss more than a week of practice, any absence is precautionary and shouldn't be counted against his fantasy profile. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [NE - WR Kenny Britt may return soon](=) Source: Boston Herald - Kevin Duffy New England Patriots WR [Kenny Britt]( (hamstring) did not participate in practice Saturday, July 28, because he is receiving treatment on his hamstring, according to a source. The team hopes he can return to the field in the next few days. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Patriots might have had designs on Britt getting snaps outside when Julian Edelman is out, but this is a big hitch in that plan. His sleeper status is on hold until this resolves itself. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 15. [WAS - Da'Ron Payne to miss a few weeks](=) Source: ESPN.com - John Keim Washington Redskins DT Da'Ron Payne (ankle) is expected to miss two to three weeks because of an ankle injury, according to head coach Jay Gruden. Payne will be wearing a walking boot for the next week. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Washington has good depth at DE so they can afford to give Payne plenty of time to heal, but it could slow down their first-round pick's development. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 16. [CAR - Daryl Williams carted off]( Source: Charlotte Observer - Jourdan Rodrigue Carolina Panthers OT Daryl Williams (knee) was carted off the field after suffering an apparent knee injury during practice Saturday, July 28. Williams' injury appeared to be a non-contact injury. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This is brutal for the Panthers as Williams was playing at a high level last year. 2017 second-round pick Taylor Moton will be on the spot, and training camp reports have been mixed at best so far. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 17. [NO - DE Alex Okafor to be closely monitored](=) Source: The Times-Picayune New Orleans Saints LB Alex Okafor (Achilles') will have his practice reps monitored in training camp, as he returns from a torn Achilles' tendon, according to head coach Sean Payton. The team hopes to build him up to a point where he will be capable of playing 40 to 50 snaps. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] There are some success stories among pass rushers returning from achilles tears, including Terrell Suggs and Cameron Wake, so we shouldn't write off Okafor. He was a big under the radar contributor last year and should at least be a passing down specialist this year if everything goes well. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 18. [LAR - LAR has three candidates to start at right guard](=) Source: Los Angeles Times - Gary Klein Los Angeles Rams OGs Austin Blythe, Brian Allen and Joseph Noteboom are likely candidates to replace OG Jamon Brown in the starting lineup at right guard when he serves his two-game suspension. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Luckily for the Rams, they face Oakland and Arizona the first two weeks, teams that aren't known for great interior pass rush or run defenders. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 19. [OAK - WR Jordy Nelson still a burner?](=) Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Charean Williams Oakland Raiders WR [Jordy Nelson]( can still run and is 'one of the fastest skill guys' on the team, according to QB [Derek Carr](, and head coach Jon Gruden said Nelson can still lineup anywhere and run any route. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] With all due respect to Nelson and Carr, there is little evidence of this on 2017 tape. Nelson will start, but will never approach the value he had with Aaron Rodgers again. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 20. [BUF - WR Rod Streater keeps making plays](=) Source: The Buffalo News - Mark Gaughan Buffalo Bills WR [Rod Streater]( has made impressive catches each of the first two days of training camp, according to Mark Gaughan of the Buffalo News, and Gaughan believes Streater could emerge as the No. 4 receiver. 'It's just going out here and making plays and being consistent,' Streater said. 'You continue to compete and hopefully things work out.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] With Kelvin Benjamin's on again, off again injury issue and Zay Jones questions on and off of the field, Streater could actually start at some point, but that's still probably not worth much outside of very deep dynasty leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 21. [BUF - WR Jeremy Kerley holding down the slot](=) Source: The Buffalo News - Mark Gaughan Buffalo Bills WR [Jeremy Kerley]( opened training camp as the starting slot receiver. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Kerley could easily lead this team in catches, but that might not be enough to make him relevant for fantasy in this offense. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 22. [NYG - Jon Halapio still in line to start]( Source: NorthJersey.com - Art Stapleton New York Giants C Jon Halapio opened training camp as the starting center. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The team will miss Weston Richburg, but they will also upgrade at tackle with Nate Solder. Center is a question mark, but Halapio will get the job to open with Brett Jones in the picture. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 23. [OAK - Kolton Miller opens as starter]( Source: Las Vegas Review-Journal - Michael Gehlken Oakland Raiders OT Kolton Miller opened training as the starting left tackle Friday, July 27, and Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review-Journal also expects Miller to open the regular season as the starter. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Donald Penn is starting camp on the PUP after offseason foot surgery, and his best football might be behind him, but Miller is very spotty in pass protection and would leave Derek Carr exposed against the great AFC West pass rushers. The Oakland offense is a question mark this year. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 24. [WAS - Washington's tackles ready to go](=) Source: CSNWashington.com - Rich Tandler Washington Redskins OT Trent Williams (knee) and OT Morgan Moses (ankle) both participated in team drills during training camp Friday, July 27. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Washington had a ton of injuries on the line last year, so hopefully this is the start of a new trend that bolsters the offense. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 25. [NYJ - WR Terrelle Pryor remains limited]() Source: NFL Network - Mike Garafolo New York Jets WR [Terrelle Pryor]( (ankle) said his ankle is feeling good, but he was limited in practice Friday, July 27, and is expected to remain limited for the foreseeable future. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Pryor is only a likely member of the 53 man roster because of his guaranteed two million dollars. He's probably only going to be depth for this team with his slow recovery. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 26. [PIT - Terrell Edmunds works with starters]( Source: Pittsburgh Post-Gazette - Ray Fittipaldo Pittsburgh Steelers S Terrell Edmunds worked with the first-team defense during practice Friday, July 27, because FS Morgan Burnett (hamstring) is dealing with a hamstring injury. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Burnett hasn't played 16 games since 2012, so Edmunds seeing the field in a key role as a rookie is almost a given, so this is probably helpful for the defense in the long term. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 27. [JAX - WR Dede Westbrook moving around]( Source: FirstCoastNews.com - Mike Kaye Jacksonville Jaguars WR [Dede Westbrook]( lined up as an outside receiver as well as a slot receiver during practice Friday, July 27. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Westbrook will need versatility to get on the field this year as probably the #4 or #5 receiver, although Donte Moncrief and Marqise Lee aren't known for their durability.
