[WAS - Former teammate high on Derrius Guice](#18) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 1. [IND - QB Andrew Luck adapting to change](=) Source: MMQB - Albert Breer Indianapolis Colts QB [Andrew Luck]( (shoulder) senses differences in how his shoulder reacts to new things this year. 'The pain is gone, and it's going to stay that way,' Luck said to reporters at minicamp. 'My body doesn't revolt, in a sense, to new things I ask.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Luck has to get over the physical nature of his injury, and there's a mental hurdle that can be significant when coming back from this type of situation. He'll need to learn a 'new normal' when it comes to being 100 percent healthy. Luck has begun throwing NFL footballs and is progressing well through his recovery. We should see him limited in the preseason as the Colts want him near full strength for the start of the regular season. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [GB - Green Bay to use committee at RB]() Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky Green Bay Packers RBs [Ty Montgomery](, [Jamaal Williams]( and [Aaron Jones]( will be part of a committee at running back this upcoming season, according to head coach Mike McCarthy. McCarthy said the team will be able to adjust if one of the running backs shows they can be the full-time starter. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This sounds about right. We should see Williams as the primary banger for the Packers offense as he can grind down opponents with multiple carries. Montgomery can be utilized effectively as a receiving back who could thrive if/when the Packers use a fast break offense. Jones is a good all-around back who might get a few touches here and there. Fantasy owners are currently taking Williams at RB45 (10.03) and Montgomery at RB42 (9.04) in 12-team PPR leagues. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [BAL - QB Joe Flacco putting in the time]( Source: The Baltimore Sun - Katherine Fominykh Baltimore Ravens QB [Joe Flacco]( said he plans to have throwing sessions with his receivers over the summer. 'So we'll be getting together, and it'll be good for us,' Flacco said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Flacco is playing with a renewed vigor this offseason according to reports. That's what happens when a team selects a quarterback in the first round of the 2018 NFL draft, and Lamar Jackson has been 'wowing' teammates and media out at Ravens headquarters. Flacco needs all the time he can get with his new weapons as the Ravens have completely revamped their WR corps. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [LAC - DE Melvin Ingram wants to play TE]( Source: ESPN.com - Eric D. Williams Los Angeles Chargers LB Melvin Ingram said he has been lobbying to see some snaps at tight end. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Ingram is moving to DE this year in Gus Bradley's new defense. He's got enough on his plate just getting after quarterbacks and being a defensive superstar for the Chargers. Ingram has supreme confidence and is one helluva athlete...and the Chargers could use TE help after losing Hunter Henry (knee) for the season. Starting TE Virgil Green has been inconsistent and generally unimpressive for most of his career, and reports out of Chargers camp indicate he's doing nothing to change that perception. It's fun to think of Ingram on offense (and the accompanying MUT card on Madden), but at the end of the day this doesn't seem too likely to happen. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [DEN - QB Paxton Lynch staying ready]( Source: The Denver Post - Ryan O'Halloran Denver Broncos QB [Paxton Lynch]( said he is 'very comfortable' running offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave's playbook and remains confident that he can lead the offense if called upon. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Lynch has looked better this offseason and may have finally figured out what it takes to be a pro. A first-round pick in the 2016 NFL draft, Lynch has failed to beat out Trevor Siemian for two years. Now, Siemian is gone to the Vikings and Lynch now has no shot of being the starter so long as free agent addition Case Keenum is healthy. The team hasn't given up on Lynch just yet...and they may be the only people that have faith in Lynch to 'get it' and play up to his potential. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [MIA - Mike Gesicki inks deal]( Source: MiamiDolphins.com Miami Dolphins TE Mike Gesicki signed his four-year rookie contract Monday, June 18. Financial terms were not disclosed. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Don't ask him to block, but get Gesicki the ball as much as you can as a receiver. He basically plays like a super-sized wide receiver, and the rookie from Penn State measures in at 6'6" 247 pounds. Gesicki knows how to use his size and wingspan to pluck the ball away from smaller defenders. Even at his enormous size, Gesicki has the body control to consistently bring the ball down with two feet inbounds. He's competing with A.J. Derby (and others) to be the starting tight end for the Dolphins in 2018. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [CAR - D.J. Moore signs contract]() Source: The Charlotte Observer - Jourdan Rodrigue Carolina Panthers WR D.J. Moore signed his four-year rookie deal Monday, June 18. Financial terms were not disclosed. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Moore is one of the most exciting WRs in the 2018 NFL draft, and he could quickly become a favorite of QB Cam Newton. He's got some Steve Smith to his game as Moore is feisty, strong and can win contested catches. Fantasy owners are taking him at WR48 (10.12) in current 12-team PPR drafts. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [NFL - CB Delvin Breaux going to Canada](=) Source: The New Orleans Advocate - Nick Underhill Free-agent CB Delvin Breaux (Saints) will be signing with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Breaux is going back to where it all started. He was an all star in the CFL back in 2014 which led to the Saints taking a chance on him. Breaux looked good for the Saints before injuries derailed his career. We'll see if he can get things back on track up North. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [IND - TE Eric Ebron could have solid role]( Source: The Indianapolis Star - Stephen Holder Indianapolis Colts TE [Eric Ebron]( was one of the more impressive players during offseason workouts and could have an impact in the passing game this season, in the opinion of the Indianapolis Star's Stephen Holder. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Ebron is getting moved around the formation as a pass-catching weapon in OTAs and minicamp. He's always had the natural talent, but the 2014 first-round pick has never played up to his full potential. With a fresh start in Indianapolis, we'll see if Ebron can make some plays as the no.2 tight end for the Colts behind Jack Doyle. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [PIT - Joshua Dobbs appears to be odd man out](=) Source: Pittsburgh Tribune-Review - Joe Rutter Pittsburgh Steelers QB Joshua Dobbs probably will not make the 53-man roster unless there is an injury to one of the other quarterbacks or if a quarterback is traded. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Dobbs is a literal rocket scientist (aerospace engineer major in college at Tennessee) but he lacks the ability needed to stick in the pros. When the Steelers selected QB Mason Rudolph in the 2018 NFL draft, the writing was on the wall for Dobbs. We'll see Rudolph, Dobbs and Landry Jones compete in training camp to establish the pecking order behind Ben Roethlisberger. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [BUF - OLB Lorenzo Alexander on bubble?](=) Source: The Buffalo News - Jay Skurski Buffalo Bills LB Lorenzo Alexander could be a surprise cut during training camp in part because the team could save $1.75 million in salary cap space if he is released, in the opinion of The Buffalo News' Jay Skurski. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Alexander's production took a step back in 2017 after his breakout season (12.5 sacks) in 2016. He said earlier this year that he doesn't plan on retiring and wants to keep playing. Alexander likely will see most of his playing time on special teams if he makes the 53-man roster. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [SEA - Alex McGough to push for backup job](=) Source: The Seattle Times - Bob Condotta Seattle Seahawks QB Alex McGough showed enough during offseason workouts to receive a real opportunity to compete with QB [Austin Davis]( for the No. 2 quarterback job during training camp, according to head coach Pete Carroll. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The rookie from Florida International is known for being an accurate passer who stays patient with his reads. He'll put the ball up for grabs too often when trying to go deep and will need to take better care of the football if he wants to win the backup job to Russell Wilson. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [NYG - Davis Webb clear favorite for No. 2 QB job]() Source: NJ Press Media - Ryan Dunleavy New York Giants QB Davis Webb appears to be the clear favorite for the No. 2 quarterback job entering training camp, in the opinion of NJ.com's Ryan Dunleavy. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Webb has the prototypical size scouts look for in an NFL quarterback. Measuring in at 6'5" 229 pounds, Webb scans the field well to find the open receiver. Accuracy problems and decision making on outside or deep throws plagued his game in college at Cal. We'll see if Webb can win the primary backup job to Eli Manning as his only competition is rookie fourth-round pick Kyle Lauletta. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [MIN - Brandon Zylstra stands out](=) Source: St. Paul Pioneer Press - Chris Tomasson Minnesota Vikings WR Brandon Zylstra 'continues to impress' with his ability to make catches in traffic and play physical, according to offensive coordinator John DeFilippo. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Keep an eye on Zylstra in super deep dynasty formats. Undrafted out of Concordia-Moorhead, Zylstra spent two seasons playing in the Canadian Football League. He won rookie of the year for the Edmonton Eskimos in 2016, and the Vikings decided to give the Minnesota native a shot after he lead the CFL in receiving yards with 1,687 yards in 2017. He can make crazy catches seem routine and is most certainly a player we'll be interested to see in the preseason. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 15. [ARI - RB T.J. Logan eyeing Week 1]() Source: The Arizona Republic - Clevis Murray Arizona Cardinals RB T.J. Logan (wrist) said his wrist is 'definitely' healthy, and he is trying to improve his conditioning with the hope of being ready to play in Week 1. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Logan is trying to win a change-of-pace role behind David Johnson in the Cardinals backfield. A fifth-round pick in the 2017 NFL draft, Logan was put on Injured Reserve last September and didn't post any stats as a rookie. We could see rookie Chase Edmonds (fourth-round pick out of Fordham) begin the season as the no.2 back behind Johnson. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 16. [PHI - Offense clicking for WR Shelton Gibson]() Source: The Morning Call - Nick Fierro Philadelphia Eagles WR [Shelton Gibson]( said he is finally able to 'play fast' this year because he knows where he is supposed to be on each play and can run decisive routes. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] A fifth-round pick out of West Virginia in 2017, Gibson has speed to burn. He can get down the field in the blink of an eye, and the second-year pro could be a 'lid lifter' for the Eagles passing attack (think DeSean Jackson-like). Keep an eye on him in dynasty formats. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 17. [PIT - James Washington sees time with starters]( Source: Pittsburgh Tribune-Review - Joe Rutter Pittsburgh Steelers WR James Washington spent time with the first-team offense in three-receiver sets during minicamp. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Steelers don't hit on every pick, but they have shown a knack for finding WR talent in the NFL draft. Washington was incredibly productive during his time at Oklahoma State. Over the last three years, Washington has more receiving yards than any other college receiver during that time. He knows how to pluck the ball out of the air and has 'late hands' on deep passes...meaning he doesn't tip off the pass is coming to him until the final moment. Washington has the ability to become a favorite WR for Ben Roethlisberger. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 18. [WAS - Former teammate high on Derrius Guice](=) Source: The Times-Picayune - Christopher Dabe Washington Redskins RB Derrius Guice is going to do 'big things' this season, according to Jacksonville Jaguars RB [Leonard Fournette](. 'He always had the talent when I was there at LSU,' Fournette said. 'He's going to have a great year.' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Guice has incredible talent and a natural running style that should translate quickly to the NFL. If he's motivated and focused, Guice could be one of the best running backs in the league. Guice should be the lead back for Washington with Chris Thompson working as a change-of-pace back. He's currently getting drafted at RB20 (4.03) in 12-team PPR leagues.
