[ARI - RB David Johnson with lofty goals]( Source: NFL Network - Will Selva Arizona Cardinals RB [David Johnson]( (wrist) said his wrist feels great, and he's aiming for 1,000 rushing yards and 1,000 receiving yards. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Only two backs in NFL history (Roger Craig, Marshall Faulk) are members of the 1,000/1,000-club. Johnson certainly could be the next in line. With Mike McCoy running the Cardinals offense in 2018, we should see Johnson get plenty of work as a runner and receiver out of the backfield. With Sam Bradford (or rookie Josh Rosen) starting at quarterback, Johnson makes for a great relief-valve target. Fantasy owners can trust him as one of the top picks off the board in any draft/any format. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [TB - RB Charles Sims will have specific role](=) Source: Tampa Bay Times - Greg Auman Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB [Charles Sims]( is expected to be a third-down back this upcoming season because of his ability to pass protect and catch the ball out of the backfield, according to offensive coordinator Todd Monken. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Sims had his shot to be the team's lead back in 2015 and those days are gone. Now, rookie Ronald Jones could emerge as the top running back for the Bucs. Jones is electric with the ball in his hands and can be dangerous as a runner or receiver out of the backfield. Sims is not as explosive with the ball but he is reliable and there's a spot for that....a spot with limited (little?) fantasy value but there is a spot. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [SF - CB Richard Sherman to be ready for camp]( Source: ESPN.com - Josina Anderson San Francisco 49ers CB Richard Sherman (Achilles') jogged on to the field Wednesday, May 16, for the first time since rupturing his Achilles' tendon last season. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Great news for the 49ers here...and something we all were expecting. Sherman said he'll be ready for training camp but will approach the offseason with caution. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [CIN - WR John Ross wants to think less, relax]( Source: NFL.com - Herbie Teope Cincinnati Bengals WR [John Ross]( said he was thinking about everything he was doing in his rookie season and it took away from his talent. Ross said the coaching staff told him he performs better when he's himself and relaxes. A shoulder injury also got the best of Ross, who said he was trying to do more than he could because of it. 'You have to come in and prepare. I've learned that. It's growth and progression from here on [out].' [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Ross went from shattering the 40-yard dash record at the Scouting Combine in 2017, to struggling through a rookie season where he couldn't get healthy, barely played and came away with zero catches. The best athletes in the world can perform at a high level with a calm mind, and we'll see if Ross can find some inner peace on the football field in 2018. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [BAL - OLB Terrell Suggs not considering retirement]() Source: The Baltimore Sun - Jeff Zrebiec Baltimore Ravens LB Terrell Suggs said he plans to play beyond the 2018 season and believes he will continue to play for the Ravens during that time. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] A first-round pick all the way back in 2003, Suggs is still capable of playing at a high level. He's set to make $4 million in 2018, the last year of his current contract. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [PHI - No timetable for ILB Jordan Hicks](=) Source: ESPN.com - Tim McManus Updating a previous report, Philadelphia Eagles LB Jordan Hicks (Achilles') does not have a timetable for his return even though he said he is ahead of schedule. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] A third-round pick out of Texas in 2015, Hicks has only played a full 16-game season once in his career. Last season, the Achilles' injury limited him to just seven games. Things seem to be on track in his recovery, and having Hicks out there would be a boost for the Eagles defense. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [SEA - Seattle signs two draft picks](=) Source: Seahawks.com - John Boyle Seattle Seahawks fifth-round draft choices LB Shaquem Griffin and S Tre Flowers signed four-year deals with the Seahawks Thursday, May 17. Financial terms were not disclosed. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Griffin had 18.5 sacks over the last two years playing OLB at Central Florida. He flies all over the field, can cover in space and play special teams if need be. Amniotic Band Syndrome caused his left hand to get amputated at the age of four, but that hasn't slowed Griffin down whatsoever. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [DAL - Dallas works out several players]( Source: ESPNDallas.com - Todd Archer Free-agent QB Trevor Knight (Falcons), WR Keyarris Garrett (Panthers) and WR Taj Williams (Seahawks) and undrafted free-agent RB Sherman Badie (Tulane) worked out for the Dallas Cowboys Thursday, May 17. The Cowboys are not expected to sign any of the players at this time. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Undrafted out of Texas A&M (Oklahoma transfer) in 2017, Knight bounced around on two teams (Cardinals, Falcons) last year. Knight is athletic and strong enough to break some tackles as a runner, but his accuracy as a passer is a work in progress. We'll see if he can latch on with another team since the Cowboys seem to be passing on him at this time. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [DAL - DeMarcus Lawrence not worried about contract]() Source: The Dallas Morning News - Jon Machota Dallas Cowboys DE DeMarcus Lawrence said he is not worried about his contract situation because he believes he will receive a long-term extension if he plays well in 2018. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Currently on the franchise tag (that he signed), Lawrence is set to make a little over $17 million in 2018. The two sides have until mid July to work on a new long-term contract. After nine sacks combined in 2015 and 2016, Lawrence exploded for 15.0 sacks in his contract year. The Cowboys don't want him to get away, and even with that large one-year number we could see a deal hammered out before the deadline to do so. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [PIT - WR Eli Rogers likely will return]() Source: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler Free-agent WR [Eli Rogers]( (knee) likely will re-sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers once he recovers from his torn anterior cruciate ligament, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Jeremy Fowler. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] That move could make a lot of sense for both sides. With Martavis Bryant (Raiders) traded away, the Steelers could use another body in the mix behind Antonio Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster. After snaring 48 catches out of the slot in 2016, Rogers wasn't used much in 2017 and only caught 18 passes. Rogers tore his ACL in the Divisional Round against the Jaguars. He may not be fully ready to go until well into the 2018 regular season. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [NFL - QB Matt Moore may wait to sign]( Source: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler Free-agent QB [Matt Moore]( (Dolphins) may wait until the 2018 regular season starts before signing with a team in order to see which teams will need quarterback help, according to sources. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The long-time Dolphins backup is in no rush to sign. Something should come up as players get injured during camps across the league. He has received some interest from the Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans this offseason. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [NE - DT Danny Shelton has target weight](=) Source: ESPNBoston.com - Mike Reiss New England Patriots DT Danny Shelton said he wants to play at 335 pounds this upcoming season and is working on getting to that weight. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Shelton has plenty to play for in his contract year. The Patriots traded for him in March, but they didn't pick up his fifth-year option. Shelton will play out this year then hit the open market in 2019. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [CHI - Coach excited about RB Tarik Cohen]( Source: Chicago Sun-Times - Mark Potash Chicago Bears RB [Tarik Cohen]( is a player that head coach Matt Nagy is excited to work with this upcoming season. 'You see how he is in the meeting rooms -- he listens to the play and when he comes out here how serious he is and he knows how to have fun. He's a player that for me, you get giddy about,' Nagy said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Nagy is one of the most creative offensive minds in football. He'll find a way to use Cohen, perhaps with some plays/formations that he used Tyreek Hill in during his time running Kansas City's offense. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [IND - WR Chester Rogers impressing coordinator]() Source: The Indianapolis Star - Stephen Holder Indianapolis Colts WR [Chester Rogers]( has been one of the standout performers this offseason, according to offensive coordinator Nick Sirianni. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] An important note for fantasy owners to watch here. Rogers has flashed a bit during his pro career when not slowed down by a hamstring injury. The Colts are looking for a new no.2 wide receiver with Donte Moncrief moving on to the Jaguars this offseason. Rogers may have the early lead to start opposite T.Y. Hilton. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 15. [CLE - Denzel Ward feeling good](=) Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot Cleveland Browns CB Denzel Ward (hip) said his injured hip is feeling good and that he expects to participate in organized team activities next week. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Ward was held out of some practices during rookie minicamp, mainly as a precautionary move. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 16. [NFL - TE Crockett Gillmore undergoes surgery]( Source: The Baltimore Sun - Jeff Zrebiec Free-agent TE/OL [Crockett Gillmore]( (knee) needed to undergo another surgery on his knee earlier this offseason, according to sources. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Gillmore struggled at the tight end position, and he's struggled to stay healthy as a pro. He's moving to offensive tackle according to reports that came out earlier this year. The Baltimore Ravens may have interest in re-signing Gillmore, but he would need to be able to pass a physical.
