[CIN - Coach likes Malik Jefferson's versatility](#14) 15. [CLE - Chad Thomas could move around](#15) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 1. [BAL - Baltimore to take it slow with Lamar Jackson]() Source: NFL.com - Jim Trotter Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson will face 'no urgency' in regards of being rushed into the starting lineup, according to NFL.com's Jim Trotter. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Jackson has everyone excited, landing in a good organization that should set him up to succeed with the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach that oversaw Michael Vick's rebirth in Philadelphia. He should add more fantasy value with his legs than any quarterback in the league. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [BUF - Buffalo will not rush Josh Allen](=) Source: WKBW.com - Joe Buscaglia Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen will not be rushed but will start as a rookie if he wins the starting job during training camp, according to general manager Brandon Beane. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Allen has a lot of physical advantages over AJ McCarron, and both will be learning Brian Daboll's offense for the first time. With an underwhelming group of receivers and three new starters on the line, it won't be wise to expect much from the Bills quarterback, whoever it is. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [MIA - Jason Sanders will not be handed job](=) Source: The Miami Herald - Adam H. Beasley Miami Dolphins PK Jason Sanders is expected to compete with another kicker during training camp, according to vice president of football operations Mike Tannenbaum. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Dolphins didn't have a kicker going into the draft. Sanders should be the favorite to win the job, but if he falters in camp and the preseason, he could yield to competition or the team could sign a kicker who is released at final cutdowns. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [HOU - Keke Coutee could contribute right away]( Source: ESPN.com - Sarah Barshop Houston Texans WR Keke Coutee is expected to compete with WR [Braxton Miller]( for the slot receiver job during training camp. He is also expected to be used as a kick returner. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Coutee has much better deep speed than Miller and he can provide a better threat to take the kickoff the distance. When he's on the field at the same time as Will Fuller, safeties will have trouble guarding the deep zone. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [CLE - Joel Bitonio to be LT?](=) Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson did not rule out the possibility of OG Joel Bitonio starting at left tackle next season. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Browns have great depth on the interior offensive line with second round pick Austin Corbett (Nevada) in tow, so they can afford to be creative in solving the problem created when Joe Thomas retired. Bitonio was a left tackle in college, coincidentally the same as Corbett - Nevada. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [BAL - Jaleel Scott may be red zone target]( Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley Baltimore Ravens WR Jaleel Scott is expected to compete for the No. 4 receiver job and could also be a red zone target because of his size. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Ravens signed Willie Snead, Michael Crabtree, and John Brown this year, but it's possible that none are on the roster two years from now. Scott is more skilled than the typical big receiver and that's why he was drafted earlier than most of his big wide receiver peers this year. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [BAL - Orlando Brown could start as rookie]( Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley Baltimore Ravens OT Orlando Brown Jr. will compete with OT James Hurst for the starting right tackle job during training camp. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Brown is playing for the same team his dad excelled for and he has better tape than his abysmal combine would lead one to believe. He should at least be the team's swing tackle this year. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. [NYJ - Chris Herndon to miss several weeks]() Source: New York Daily News - Manish Mehta New York Jets TE Chris Herndon (knee) will be sidelined for another four to six weeks because of offseason knee surgery, according to general manager Mike Maccagnan. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Herndon was a rare tight end used on screen passes, with better run after catch ability than most of his peers. He is on a team without an established tight end, but Herndon is only a deep dynasty stash for now. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [BUF - Austin Proehl to work in slot](=) Source: BuffaloBills.com - Chris Brown Buffalo Bills WR Austin Proehl will be used as a slot receiver, according to general manager Brandon Beane. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Proehl shares the Panthers bloodline with Sean McDermott, as the Bills head coach worked with his dad. He was a nondescript prospect at North Carolina before breaking his collarbone. He has an uphill battle to make the team even with a bottom-end receiver group on the depth chart. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [ATL - Calvin Ridley could return kickoffs and punts]() Source: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution - D. Orlando Ledbetter The Atlanta Falcons could experiment with using WR Calvin Ridley as a kickoff returner and punt returner at the team's rookie camp, according to head coach Dan Quinn. Ridley returned just two punts for four yards at Alabama and did not return any kickoffs. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Ridley has good speed and he's likely to start as the team's third receiver, so they might look for chances to manufacture more opportunities for him. Return yardage leagues should monitor this development. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [BUF - Buffalo not pursuing WR Dez Bryant](=) Source: ESPN.com - Mike Rodak Free-agent WR [Dez Bryant]( (Cowboys) won't be pursued by the Buffalo Bills, according to general manager Brandon Beane. 'If we thought that was the right fit for us, we definitely would potentially pursue it,' Beane said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's hard to figure out exactly who is going to target Bryant in free agency now. He's probably not going to get the money he is looking, even on a one-year deal. Bryant's fantasy value continues to slide. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [IND - RB Marlon Mack in a committee?]() Source: The Indianapolis Star - Stephen Holder Indianapolis Colts RB [Marlon Mack]( is not the clear starter, according to head coach Frank Reich. 'I'm fine with running back by committee,' Reich said. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Nyheim Hines is just as explosive and maybe a better receiver, and Jordan Wilkins is a better inside runner. The Colts should employ an Eagles-esque running back rotation like the one Reich used in Philadelphia last year. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [BUF - Wyatt Teller to work at OG](=) Source: BuffaloBills.com - Chris Brown Buffalo Bills OG Wyatt Teller will initially be used at guard but does have experience at tackle, according to head coach Sean McDermott. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Bills can use that versatility on the bench with new starters this year. Teller was a strong third day pick for a team that neglected the offensive line on the first and second day. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [CIN - Coach likes Malik Jefferson's versatility](=) Source: ESPN.com - Katherine Terrell Cincinnati Bengals LB Malik Jefferson said he feels most natural as an outside linebacker, but head coach Marvin Lewis said he believes Jefferson can play all three linebacker positions. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Jefferson is very athletic for a linebacker by NFL standards and he might be needed to help while Vontaze Burfict is suspended to begin the season. The team doesn't a truly entrenched starter beyond Burfict and who knows what the future holds for him, so Jefferson could settle into a starting spot sooner than later. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 15. [CLE - Chad Thomas could move around]( Source: ESPN.com - Pat McManamon Cleveland Browns DE Chad Thomas could line up at defensive end on early downs and move to defensive tackle in passing situations to provide interior pass rush, according to vice president of player personnel Andrew Berry. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Thomas is big and physically gifted, but hasn't fully harnessed his tools yet. He also has a music career, so teams were unsure of his focus on football. The upside was too high to ignore for a Browns team with a ton of picks that took a few risky mid-round propositions. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- That'll do it for today, Folks. Thanks for reading and welcome back. We'll see you tomorrow with the Update.
