[OAK - Jon Gruden to coach Oakland?](=) Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter ESPN's Adam Schefter told Scott Van Pelt on the SVP show that he expected Jon Gruden to be the Raiders next coach. He, like me, is connecting the dots and assuming the Raiders don't make the move with Del Rio unless they knew they were getting Jon Gruden. We'll hopefully see confirmation of this soon. [OAK - Jack Del Rio fired by Oakland]( Source: NFL.com - Ian Rapoport The Oakland Raiders fired head coach Jack Del Rio on Sunday, Dec. 31, after posting a 6-10 record in 2017. Del Rio presided over the resurrection of the franchise last year and not everything that went wrong this year was his fault. [BUF - RB LeSean McCoy injured](=) Source: BuffaloBills.com Buffalo Bills RB [LeSean McCoy]( (foot) suffered an apparent foot/ankle injury in the third quarter of the Week 17 game against the Miami Dolphins. He went down immediately after a short run and took off his helmet while writhing around on the ground. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Bills are making a push for the playoffs, but they might have to play in the wild card round without the centerpiece of their offense. [TB - Week 17 game recap for Buccaneers](=) Source: ESPN.com Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB [Jameis Winston]( completed 28 of his 51 passes for 363 yards, a touchdown and three interceptions in a 31-24 win over the New Orleans Saints in Week 17, and he added five carries for 32 yards and a score. RB [Peyton Barber]( rushed 17 times for 71 yards and a touchdown and caught two passes for 18 yards. WR [Chris Godwin]( had seven catches for 111 yards and a touchdown, [Adam Humphries]( caught seven passes for 102 yards, and WR [Mike Evans]( finished with five catches for 55 yards. TE [Cameron Brate]( caught three passes for 37 yards. The Bucs were disappointing this year, but the offense got stronger after Winston returned from his shoulder injury. RB [Melvin Gordon]( rushed 17 times for 93 yards and caught six passes for 31 yards. WR [Keenan Allen]( caught nine passes for 133 yards and a touchdown, WR [Travis Benjamin]( had four catches for 96 yards and a touchdown, and WR [Tyrell Williams]( caught three passes for 67 yards and a score. TE [Antonio Gates]( finished with four catches for 46 yards. RB [Anthony Sherman]( ran 14 times for a team-high 40 yards and a touchdown, while RB [Kareem Hunt]( rushed for a 35-yard touchdown on his only carry. WR [Albert Wilson]( racked up 147 yards on 10 catches while TE [Demetrius Harris]( posted 73 yards on his three receptions. The Chiefs offense has turned it around after a midseason slump and they should be a heavy favorite against the Titans next week. [CIN - Week 17 game recap for Bengals](=) Source: The Associated Press Cincinnati Bengals QB [Andy Dalton]( completed 23-of-44 passes for 222 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in the Week 17 game against the Baltimore Ravens. RB [Joe Mixon]( ran 18 times for 96 yards, RB [Giovani Bernard]( rushed 10 times for 62 yards while adding six receptions for 18 yards, and WR [Tyler Boyd]( led the charge with five catches for 91 yards and a touchdown. WR [Tyler Kroft]( found the end zone twice, finishing with 53 yards on six receptions. WR [A.J. Green]( rounded things out with two grabs for 17 yards. [BAL - Week 17 game recap for Ravens](=) Source: The Associated Press Baltimore Ravens QB [Joe Flacco]( completed 25-of-47 pass attempts for 203 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in the Week 17 game against the Cincinnati Bengals. RB [Alex Collins]( ran 20 times for 78 yards and a score while adding 18 yards on two receptions. RB [Javorius Allen]( tacked on 37 rushing yards on five attempts. TE Benjamin Watson had a team-high 61 yards on seven grabs. WR [Mike Wallace]( was targeted a game-high 13 times, finishing with five catches, 40 yards and a TD. WR Michael Campanaro was good for three receptions and 36 yards. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] A late defensive breakdown on 4th and 12 cost the Ravens a playoff spot. Collins established himself as the lead back in the second half of the year, but the passing game had to strive to be mediocre this year. [BUF - Week 17 game recap for Bills](=) Source: The Associated Press Buffalo Bills QB [Tyrod Taylor]( completed 19-of-27 pass attempts for 204 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Week 17 against the Miami Dolphins while running for 35 yards on six attempts. RB [Marcus Murphy]( led the way with seven runs for 41 yards while RB [LeSean McCoy]( (ankle) was limited to 10 yards on 11 rushes before checking out with an injury. TE [Charles Clay]( shined with six grabs for 64 yards on a team-high eight targets, WR [Kelvin Benjamin]( led the wideouts with two grabs for 27 yards and TE Nick O'Leary finished with a 26-yard touchdown on his only grab. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] McCoy's ankle is now a very important wild card week storyline with the Bills somehow getting into the playoffs to face the Jaguars and their old coach Doug Marrone. [ATL - Week 17 game recap for Falcons](=) Source: The Associated Press Atlanta Falcons QB [Matt Ryan]( completed 28-of-45 passes for 317 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in the Week 17 game against the Carolina Panthers. RBs [Devonta Freeman]( and [Tevin Coleman]( underwhelmed on the ground, as both players had 11 runs for 23 yards each. Freeman led the team in receiving, though, posting 85 yards and a touchdown on nine receptions. WR [Julio Jones]( finished with five grabs for 80 yards on 11 targets, while WR [Mohamed Sanu]( was also targeted 11 times, hauling in seven balls for 71 yards. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Ryan was the main reason the team won, but they had to settle for too many field goals to feel good because they are heading to Los Angeles to face the potent Rams offense next week. [CAR - Week 17 game recap for Panthers](=) Source: The Associated Press Carolina Panthers QB [Cam Newton]( completed 14-of-34 passes for 180 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions in the Week 17 game against the Atlanta Falcons. He also rushed 11 times for a game-high 59 yards. RB [Cameron Artis-Payne]( ran five times for 16 yards, while RB [Christian McCaffrey]( chipped in with six runs, 14 yards and five catches for 40 yards. WR [Devin Funchess]( ended up with two receptions, 48 yards and a score, while TE [Greg Olsen]( was limited to one catch and 10 yards. RB [Kerwynn Williams]( ran 23 times for 75 yards and he had a six-yard grab. RB [Elijhaa Penny]( chipped in with eight runs for 39 yards and a touchdown, while WR [Larry Fitzgerald]( racked up a game-high eight catches for a team-best 55 yards. RB [Mike Davis]( led the charge with 10 runs for 48 yards, while RB [J.D. McKissic]( added four runs for nine yards and three catches for 20 yards. WR [Doug {NAME}]( starred with four catches, 90 yards and two touchdowns. TE [Jimmy Graham]( posted three grabs for 45 yards, while WR [Tyler Lockett]( posted three receptions and 25 yards. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] {NAME} saved his best game of the second half of the season for a meaningless week in fantasy football. Graham faded in the second half of the season to complicate the decision about what will happen to him in free agency. Wilson could be the QB1 drafted next year, but teams that had him this year might have been left with a bad taste in their mouths after his December swoon. [SF - Week 17 game recap for 49ers](=) Source: The Associated Press San Francisco 49ers QB [Jimmy Garoppolo]( completed 20-of-33 passes for 292 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in the Week 17 game against the Los Angeles Rams. RB [Carlos Hyde]( rushed 15 times for 90 yards and two scores, while RB [Matt Breida]( added 12 runs for 72 yards and a 32-yard catch. TE [George Kittle]( led the way with 100 yards on four receptions, while WR [Trent Taylor]( had two grabs for 29 yards. WR [Marquise Goodwin]( (head) had two grabs, 28 yards and a touchdown before leaving with a injury. WR [Aldrick Robinson]( also added a 12-yard score. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Garoppolo should be a trendy pick next year after his strong finish. Hyde was as good as the 49ers offense allowed him to be in his contract year. Breida should have at least the same role next year, while fellow rookie Kittle should settle into a core role beside Goodwin and Pierre Garcon in a rising passing game. Beasley Miami Dolphins WR [Jarvis Landry]( was ejected in the fourth quarter of the Week 17 game against the Buffalo Bills for his part in a fight. He had nine receptions for 92 yards and a touchdown before departing. Landry also set the franchise record with 112 receptions despite falling 14 yards short of 1,000 for the season. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Landry will be a marquee free agent, assuming the Dolphins don't franchise him. He could gain some value with a quarterback upgrade, but lose some if he goes to an offense where he won't be the #1 read. He's still likely to remain a WR2 in PPR leagues at the worst. [MIA - RB Kenyan Drake ejected in Week 17]( Source: NFL.com - Ian Rapoport Miami Dolphins RB [Kenyan Drake]( was ejected in the fourth quarter of the Week 17 game against the Buffalo Bills for his part in a fight. He ran 14 times for 75 yards while adding three catches for 15 yards before parting. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Drake has emerged as a true lead back even though the Dolphins have said they would prefer to not work him the way they did this December. They should go forward with Drake as the starter. No player gained more value in the second half of the season. [IND - Chuck Pagano fired]( Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano was fired Sunday, Dec. 31. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Pagano and the Colts ended up bottoming out after his tenure was bright and inspiring at first. Without Andrew Luck, the team was barely competitive, and Pagano was unable to deliver. This was a long time coming. [WAS - Week 17 game recap for Redskins](=) Source: The Associated Press Washington Redskins QB [Kirk Cousins]( completed 20-of-37 pass attempts for 158 yards, no touchdowns and three interceptions in the Week 17 game against the New York Giants. RB [Kapri Bibbs]( led the team with 47 rushing yards on 12 attempts, while Cousins had a 12-yard touchdown run on his only rush. RB [Samaje Perine]( ran twice for just three yards. Bibbs also led the team in receiving with 53 yards on a game-high eight catches, and WR [Josh Doctson]( finished with four grabs and 37 yards. WR [Jamison Crowder]( posted three catches for 25 yards, and WR [Ryan Grant]( ended up with two catches with 23 yards. TE [Vernon Davis]( rounded things out with two snares for 20 yards. [CLE - Owners confirms Hue Jackson's return](=) Source: NFL Network - Aditi Kinkhabwala Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson will return to the team next season, according to owner Jimmy Haslam. Haslam said he told general manager John Dorsey that Jackson will be the head coach in 2018. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This move will be questioned because of how poorly the Browns have played under Jackson's guidance. DeShone Kizer's development was a misadventure and Jackson will now be trusted to oversee the rookie year of their likely first-round, if not #1 pick. [NYG - Week 17 game recap for Giants](=) Source: The Associated Press New York Giants QB [Eli Manning]( completed just 10-of-28 pass attempts for 132 yards, one touchdown and one interception in the Week 17 game against the Washington Redskins. RB [Orleans Darkwa]( rolled up a career-high 154 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries, while RB [Wayne Gallman]( added 89 yards on 15 carries. TE [Rhett Ellison]( posted five grabs for 63 yards, while WR [Hunter Sharp]( stepped in with three catches, 29 yards and a touchdown to lead the wide receivers. WR [Travis Rudolph]( also had 29 yards on his lone reception. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Giants running game pulled the offense to victory in a consolation win capping one of the most disappointing seasons for the team in a long time. [PIT - Week 17 game recap for Steelers](=) Source: The Associated Press Pittsburgh Steelers QB [Landry Jones]( completed 23-of-27 passes for 239 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Week 17 against the Cleveland Browns with QB [Ben Roethlisberger]( resting. RB [Stevan Ridley]( carried 17 times for 80 yards and a score with RB Le'Veon Bell sitting out, while WR [Darrius Heyward-Bey]( scored on a 29-yard rush. WR [JuJu Smith-Schuster]( shined with nine grabs, 143 yards and a score, and WR [Martavis Bryant]( was good for six catches and 65 yards. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Smith-Schuster was a force in this game, adding a kickoff return for a score. The Steelers continued a general trend of the team being very competitive in Week 17 even while starters are being rested for the playoffs. [MIN - Week 17 game recap for Vikings](=) Source: The Associated Press Minnesota Vikings QB [Case Keenum]( completed 21-of-29 pass attempts for 189 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in the Week 17 game against the Chicago Bears. RB [Latavius Murray]( galloped for 111 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries, while RB [Jerick McKinnon]( rushed 12 times for 44 yards. WR [Stefon Diggs]( was the top receiver with 65 yards and a touchdown on six grabs, while WR [Adam Thielen]( posted six receptions for 61 yards on seven targets. TE [David Morgan]( was good for three receptions and 35 yards, with WR [Laquon Treadwell]( adding three catches and 16 yards. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Murray delivered on the offseason investment that seemed superfluous after the Vikings drafted Dalvin Cook and he'll be a cornerstone in the playoffs. [CHI - Week 17 game recap for Bears](=) Source: The Associated Press Chicago Bears QB [Mitchell Trubisky]( completed 20-of-36 pass attempts for 178 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 17 against the Minnesota Vikings. RB [Tarik Cohen]( rushed for 13 yards on three yards, which actually led the team, while RB [Jordan Howard]( ran nine times for nine yards. WR [Dontrelle Inman]( led the team with 94 yards on five receptions, while WR [Josh Bellamy]( chipped in with a 30-yard grab on his only catch. WR [Kendall Wright]( wrapped up the season with five snags for 29 yards, while Cohen finished with a team-high six receptions but just 14 yards. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Trubisky's rookie year is far from encouraging, but the team's offense was not always imaginative and he could benefit if the Bears move in a more offense-oriented direction with their head coaching hire. Jordan Howard was strong when the anachronistic Bears offense found a game script to match, but that was the exception, not the rule this year. [DET - Week 17 game recap for Lions](=) Source: The Associated Press Detroit Lions QB [Matthew Stafford]( completed 20-of-29 passes for 323 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 17 against the Green Bay Packers. RB [Tion Green]( rushed for a team-high 21 yards, while RB [Ameer Abdullah]( rushed eight times for 18 yards and a score. WR [Golden Tate]( led the way with 104 yards on seven grabs with a score, while WRs [Marvin Jones]( Jr. and [Kenny Golladay]( also found the end zone. Jones had four grabs for 81 yards, and Golladay had 80 yards on his two grabs. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Stafford and the Lions offense had one more excellent day in them, but the finish to the season feels disappointing after a more promising first half of the season. Jones established himself as a true WR1 this year and Golladay bookended the season with long touchdowns in a good sign for his future. [NE - Week 17 game recap for NE]( Source: NFL.com New England Patriots QB [Tom Brady]( went 18-for-37 for 190 yards and two touchdowns against the New York Jets in Week 17. RB [Dion Lewis]( rushed for 93 yards and one touchdown on 26 carries during the game and caught six passes for 40 yards and one touchdown. WR [Brandin Cooks]( caught five passes for 79 yards and one touchdown, while WR [Danny Amendola]( caught four passes for 43 yards during the game. TE [Rob Gronkowski]( did not catch a pass during the game. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Brady's production leveled off in December, which will deflate his 2018 redraft ADP. Rob Gronkowski finishes the season with 69 receptions. Dion Lewis finished the season producing at the same level as Todd Gurley, and he should be a high offseason priority for the Patriots in free agency. WR [Dez Bryant]( caught three passes for 24 yards during the game, while TE [Jason Witten]( caught two passes for 17 yards. Dak Prescott was brilliant in the first half of the year, but he was unable to consistently move the offense in the second half of the year and leaves us with questions heading into next season. Bryant appeared to be in the beginning of his decline phase this year and may not be back with Dallas.
