[NE - TE Rob Gronkowski suspended for one game]( Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport New England Patriots TE [Rob Gronkowski]( has been suspended one game for a hit on Buffalo Bills CB Tre'Davious White (concussion) last week. Gronkowski will appeal the suspension. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Gronkowski is lucky to get only one game here but he is appealing the suspension. If the suspension is upheld, Gronkowski will miss the first week of the fantasy playoffs in Week 14 against the Dolphins. Dwayne Allen would get the start without Gronk in the lineup, but he doesn't have the TE1 upside like his teammate. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 2. [NYG - Jerry Reese let go](=) Source: NFL Network - Aditi Kinkhabwala New York Giants general manager Jerry Reese was fired Monday, Dec. 4, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Reese got two Super Bowl rings with the Giants early in his time with the team as GM. Things have slowly decayed since then. The offensive line problems continue to plague this team, and there has been hits and misses on the defensive side of the ball through the draft and free agency. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 3. [NYG - Ben McAdoo fired]( Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport New York Giants head coach Ben McAdoo was relieved of his duties Monday, Dec. 4. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The writing was on the wall for quite some time, even though ownership gave McAdoo the 'vote of confidence' about a month ago. It seems like the handling of Eli Manning and putting him on the bench did not sit well with the higher ups in the organization. Problems in the locker room and the team's record led to this decision, even though McAdoo had this team in the playoffs last year. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 4. [DEN - QB Trevor Siemian will remain starter]( Source: 9News.com - Mike Klis Denver Broncos QB [Trevor Siemian]( will start this week against the New York Jets. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Broncos don't need to see more of Brock Osweiler and 2016 first-round pick Paxton Lynch is recovering from a high ankle sprain he suffered in Week 13. Siemian had a bad day against the Dolphins on Sunday and might not be much better this week at home against the Jets. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 5. [NYG - QB Eli Manning named Week 14 starter](=) Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Updating an earlier report, New York Giants [Eli Manning]( has been reinstalled as the starting quarterback for Week 14 against the Dallas Cowboys. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] With Ben McAdoo and Jerry Reese getting fired, the message was clear that benching Manning for Week 13 was a mistake. The team came under a lot of fire nationally after McAdoo's power move and now ownership has righted the ship. That being said, there's no telling whether or not Manning will stay with the Giants in 2018 and beyond. He's currently under contract through the 2019 season. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 6. [NYG - Steve Spagnuolo takes over](=) Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter New York Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo will serve as the interim head coach. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Spagnuolo has head coaching experience from his days as the top man for the Rams (2009-2011). He was in the mix for the head coaching job back in 2016 after Tom Coughlin was shown the door, and now Spagnuolo gets to show what he can do in an interim role. The Giants are going to make more changes in the offseason, and there's no telling whether or not Spagnuolo would be considered for the permanent job in 2018 and beyond. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 7. [GB - QB Aaron Rodgers to run scout team](=) Source: ESPN - Chris Mortensen Green Bay Packers QB [Aaron Rodgers]( (collarbone) will work with the scout team in practice this week, according to a source. He would be eligible to play Dec. 17 against the Carolina Panthers. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Packers just have to get through the next two games and then Rodgers could return in Week 15. He's already been throwing long distances and working with the scout team shows that Rodgers is on the right track to return. The team has a game against the Browns in Week 14, and there's a good chance they'll be 7-6 and still in the playoff hunt when Rodgers is ready to go. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 8. NO - RB Mark Ingram limited Monday Source: NFL New Orleans Saints RB [Mark Ingram]( (toe) was limited during practice Monday, Dec. 4. The Saints did not hold a practice Monday, so this is an estimation. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] It's a short week for the Saints as they travel to play the Falcons on Thursday night. Check back to see if Ingram can practice on Wednesday. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 9. [SEA - RB Chris Carson not ready for practice](=) Source: The Seattle Times - Bob Condotta Seattle Seahawks RB [Chris Carson]( (ankle, leg) will not participate in practice this week, according to head coach Pete Carroll. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] According to Carroll, Carson will need two weeks of practice before he gets back to the playing field. That means Carson could return for the 'real' postseason in the NFL, but he is unlikely to get back in time to help during the fantasy playoffs. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 10. [LAC - TE Hunter Henry expected to be fine]() Source: ESPN.com - Eric D. Williams Los Angeles Chargers TE [Hunter Henry]( (knee) is dealing with a sore knee after hurting his knee in Week 13 but is expected to be fine, according to head coach Anthony Lynn. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Chargers play against Washington in Week 14, and Henry has TE1 upside provided he plays. Check back later in the week to monitor his practice status, but things look like Henry is going to be good to go by Sunday. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 11. [KC - OLB Tamba Hali expected to play in Week 14]( Source: ESPN.com - Adam Teicher Kansas City Chiefs LB Tamba Hali (knee) is expected to play in the team's Week 14 game, according to head coach Andy Reid. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Hali sat out two of the last three games because the team played on artificial turf and playing on it would not have been good for his knee. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 12. [IND - RB Matt Jones back with Indy](=) Source: SiriusXM NFL Radio - Adam Caplan Free-agent RB [Matt Jones]( (Colts) re-signed with the Indianapolis Colts Monday, Dec. 4. Terms of the contract were not disclosed. The team also officially placed CB Pierre Desir (shoulder) on the Reserve/Injured list. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Colts just add a player that knows the system and can provide depth behind Frank Gore and Marlon Mack. Jones was with the Colts earlier this year but only appeared in two games. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 13. [CLE - S Jabrill Peppers not out for season](=) Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot Cleveland Browns FS Jabrill Peppers' (knee) knee injury is not a season-ending injury, according to a team spokesperson. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Good news for the talented rookie here. Peppers will be on the injury report this week, and the team will see how he progresses during the week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 14. [DEN - DE Derek Wolfe could go on IR]( Source: 9News.com - Mike Klis Denver Broncos DE Derek Wolfe (neck) continues to be evaluated and being placed on the Reserve/Injured list is one of the options for Wolfe, according to head coach Vance Joseph. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Neck injuries are tricky to deal with and can be career-threatening if not treated properly. Wolfe is one of their better defenders, so expect the team to take it easy on him as he recovers...and shut him down if necessary. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 15. [DEN - QB Paxton Lynch to miss another game]( Source: 9News.com - Mike Klis Denver Broncos QB [Paxton Lynch]( (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 14 because of his high ankle sprain. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Trevor Siemian will start against the Jets on Sunday. Lynch, a first-round pick in 2016, has been injured most of his sophomore season (shoulder, ankle) after failing to beat Siemian out for the starting job in training camp. Lynch has the makings of a bust, even with only three games started as a pro. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 16. [HOU - ILB Brian Cushing officially activated](=) Source: Houston Chronicle - Aaron Wilson Updating a previous report, Houston Texans LB Brian Cushing was officially activated from his one-week roster exemption Monday, Dec. 4. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Cushing was reinstated from his 10-game suspension last week and is expected to play in Week 14. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 17. [CHI - Chicago works out three TEs](=) Source: Chicago Tribune - Brad Biggs Free-agent TEs [Jace Amaro]( (Titans), Devon Cajuste (Packers) and [Gavin Escobar]( (Ravens) recently worked out for the Chicago Bears, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Bears are just updating their emergency list here. In a few weeks, NFL teams will be signing players to futures contracts. Perhaps one of these TEs could be one of those players for the Bears. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 18. [OAK - WR Michael Crabtree back on roster](=) Source: Raiders.com Oakland Raiders WR [Michael Crabtree]( was activated from the Reserve/Suspended list Monday, Dec. 4. The team also waived DT Darius Latham. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Crabtree is back in action this week, just in time for a divisional game against the Chiefs. When he's on the field, Crabtree has WR1 upside for fantasy owners. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 19. [PHI - TE Zach Ertz in protocol]( Source: The Philadelphia Inquirer - Jeff McLane Philadelphia Eagles TE [Zach Ertz]( (concussion) is in the concussion protocol, according to head coach Doug Pederson. Ertz left early in Week 13 against the Seattle Seahawks. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Ertz will have to get through the protocol before he can play. That will include a limited practice when he's ready. We'll know more about his status later in the week. Fantasy owners need to have other options at the ready just in case Ertz can't go. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 20. [DAL - OLB Sean Lee expected back this week]() Source: The Dallas Morning News - Jon Machota Dallas Cowboys LB Sean Lee (hamstring) is expected to return to practice this week and is on track to play against the New York Giants. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Cowboys just aren't the same without Lee, and he's been out of action since Week 10. They'll ease him back into action this week of practice. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 21. [TEN - TE Delanie Walker day-to-day](=) Source: TitanInsider.com - Terry McCormick Tennessee Titans TE [Delanie Walker]( (ankle) is considered day-to-day with an ankle injury. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] In Week 14, the Titans travel to play against the Cardinals. We expect Walker to be out there on Sunday, but make sure to monitor his practice status during the week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 22. [TEN - WR Rishard Matthews should return](=) Source: TitansOnline.com - Jim Wyatt Tennessee Titans WR [Rishard Matthews]( (hamstring) is considered day-to-day but is expected to be back on the field in Week 14, according to head coach Mike Mularkey. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Matthews speed and ability to take the top off the defense has been missed. We'll get more information about his availability later in the week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 23. [NYG - Odell Beckham's future not secured?](=) Source: ESPN.com - Jordan Raanan New York Giants WR [Odell Beckham Jr](. is expected to be a part of the Giants' future, but owner John Mara said he would discuss that with the new general manager and head coach. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Beckham had his fifth-year option picked up and is under the team's control through the 2018 season. The new leadership should see what everyone sees, that Beckham is a superstar who will get top money at the WR position. Once that happens, we could see the team work to get a new long-term deal done with Beckham. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 24. [BUF - QB Tyrod Taylor escapes major injury](=) Source: WKBW.com - Joe Buscaglia Updating an earlier report, Buffalo Bills QB [Tyrod Taylor]( (knee) did not suffer ligament damage in his knee and is day-to-day with a patella tendon contusion, according to head coach Sean McDermott. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] That's great news for Taylor and the Bills but it doesn't lock him into the lineup for Week 14. McDermott has said that Taylor is the starter 'when healthy' but there's no telling when Taylor will be at full strength. If Taylor can't play, Nathan Peterman would get another start this time against the Colts on Sunday. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 25. [NYG - Kevin Abrams the interim GM](=) Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter New York Giants assistant general manager Kevin Abrams will serve as the interim general manager, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Abrams has been with the Giants for over 15 years and has been working as Jerry Reese's right hand man for over a decade. Before getting his job as assistant GM, Abrams worked in the salary cap department for the Giants for three years. He's the right man to take over the job for now, and he could be in the mix for the permanent job this offseason. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 26. [OAK - WR Amari Cooper trending upward]( Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Oakland Raiders WR [Amari Cooper]( (ankle, concussion) is described as hopeful for Week 14 with the ankle injury more relevant than the concussion. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The ankle injury has had plenty of time to heal, and the Raiders could certainly use Cooper back in a huge matchup against the Chiefs in Week 14. Both teams are 6-6, and Cooper crushed the Chiefs back in Week 7 with 11 catches for 210 yards and two touchdowns. It will greatly help to get Michael Crabtree back in action after his one-game suspension. We'll know more about Cooper's status later in the week. [Back to Top](#top) --------------------------------------------------------------- [] 27. [BAL - CB Jimmy Smith suspended four games](=) Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Baltimore Ravens CB Jimmy Smith has been suspended four games for violating the NFL's policy for performance enhancing drugs, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Smith (Achilles') is out for the season and has withdrawn his appeal. He'll serve the suspension while on Injured Reserve and be eligible to play at the start of next season.
