[NYG - QB Geno Smith named starting quarterback]() Source: Giants.com - Michael Eisen New York Giants QB [Geno Smith]( will start in place of QB [Eli Manning]( in Week 13. It is the first time in 13 years that Manning will not be starting a game for the Giants. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Head coach Ben McAdoo said the Giants will take a look at both Smith and QB Davis Webb. We don't think they'll see much different from Smith, a castoff from the Jets. Webb was their third-round pick (Cal) in the 2017 NFL draft, and he looks like a prototypical quarterback. However, Webb plays like a robot and struggles under the slightest bit of pressure. We expect the Giants to select a potential franchise quarterback in the 2018 NFL draft. [SF - QB Jimmy Garoppolo will start this week]( Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport San Francisco 49ers QB [Jimmy Garoppolo]( will start his first game as a 49er in Week 13 against the Chicago Bears. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] C.J. Beathard is banged up with two injuries (knee, hip) and the team is going to go with the guy they traded for earlier this year in Garoppolo. He came into the game in Week 12 for an injured Beathard, completed 100 percent of his passes (only 2-for-2) and threw for a touchdown. This will be his first start with his new team, and Garoppolo is an option for fantasy owners in start-2 QB leagues. [NFL - RB Darren McFadden retires](=) Source: NFL Network - Mike Garafolo Free-agent RB [Darren McFadden]( (Cowboys) announced his retirement from the NFL Tuesday, Nov. 28. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] McFadden was waived two days ago by the Cowboys and went unclaimed. He's going to go down as a player with a career summary of 'what might have been.' McFadden was the fourth-overall pick in the 2008 NFL draft, but he never quite played up to the hype surrounding him when he came out of Arkansas. He finishes his career with only two 1,000-yard rushing seasons and a career total of 5,420 rushing yards. Even without Ezekiel Elliott (suspended), the Cowboys move on with Alfred Morris and Rod Smith in the backfield. [HOU - Houston sticking with QB Tom Savage](=) Source: HoustonTexans.com - Deepi Sidhu Houston Texans QB [Tom Savage]( will continue to be the starter as head coach Bill O'Brien said he is not considering a quarterback change. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Texans don't have a better option, even though Savage has been a turnover machine during his time as the starter. In six games, Savage has committed 12 turnovers. On Monday night against the Ravens, Savage had two interceptions and a fumble. [OAK - WR Michael Crabtree's suspension reduced](=) Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter Oakland Raiders WR [Michael Crabtree]('s original two-game suspension was reduced to one game as a result of his appeal Tuesday, Nov. 28, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Crabtree lost another chain to Broncos CB Aqib Talib. Some say he started this fight as Crabtree sucker punched Chris Harris Jr. on the previous play. Talib took issue with that and the ruckus started on the next snap. No matter who started it, the NFL lightens the suspension for Crabtree here. The Raiders will be without him in Week 13 and WR Amari Cooper is in the concussion protocol. [CHI - Chicago works out three receivers]() Source: 101 ESPN - Howard Balzer Free-agent WRs Mekale McKay (Titans), Canaan Severin (Giants) and Rodney Smith (Seahawks) worked out for the Chicago Bears Tuesday, Nov. 28. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] With Tre McBride waived on Tuesday the Bears have only four WRs on the active roster. They do have three interesting deep dynasty prospects (DeMarcus Ayers, Tanner Gentry, Nelson Spruce) on their practice squad currently. These workouts are likely just to update their emergency list. [WAS - RB Samaje Perine has full practice]( Source: The Dallas Morning News Washington Redskins RB [Samaje Perine]( (finger) was a full participant in practice Tuesday, Nov. 28. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Perine is the lead back for Washingtona and he's coming off back-to-back 100-yard games. The rookie has a good matchup on Thursday night in Week 13 against the Cowboys. Over the last month of the season, the Cowboys rush defense ranks 23rd in the league by allowing an average of 124.0 rushing yards per game. Perine is a RB2 for fantasy owners in Week 13. [WAS - WR Jamison Crowder fully practices]( Source: The Dallas Morning News Washington Redskins WR [Jamison Crowder]( (back, knee) participated fully in practice Tuesday, Nov. 28. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Crowder is ready to go for the Thursday night game. He's had 14 catches over the last two games and is coming off a 7-catch, 141 yard performance with a receiving touchdown against the Giants in Week 12. Over the last four weeks, the Cowboys pass defense ranks 28th in the league by allowing an average of 265.3 passing yards per game. [MIA - RB Jeremy Langford visits Dolphins]() Source: ESPN.com - Field Yates Free-agent RB [Jeremy Langford]( (Ravens) visited the Miami Dolphins Tuesday, Nov. 28, after paying a visit to the New York Giants Monday, Nov. 27, according to a source. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] With Damien Williams (shoulder) banged up, the Dolphins need more depth at the running back position. Kenyan Drake is the starter and Senorise Perry is the only other back on the 53-man roster at this time. They do have rookie De'Veon Smith on the practice squad. [ARI - RB Kerwynn Williams has rib injury]( Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport Arizona Cardinals RB [Kerwynn Williams]( (ribs) is dealing with cracked ribs and will miss some time, according to a source. [WAS - TE Jordan Reed still absent from practice](=) Source: The Washington Post - Master Tesfatsion Washington Redskins TE [Jordan Reed]( (hamstring) did not participate in practice Tuesday, Nov. 27. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] Washington travels to play the Cowboys in Week 13. It doesn't look like Reed is going to be available to play again this week. He hasn't been on the field since Week 8 earlier this season. Without Reed, we'll continue to see Vernon Davis as their top tight end. [PIT - WR JuJu Smith-Schuster could return]() Source: Pittsburgh Tribune-Review - Joe Rutter Pittsburgh Steelers WR [JuJu Smith-Schuster]( (hamstring) 'has a chance' to play in Week 13 against the Cincinnati Bengals. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] He does have a chance, but his playing status is up in the air right now. He missed Week 12 and got some extra rest, which led the Steelers to use Martavis Bryant a bit more. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] This decision is going to come down to the health of C.J. Beathard. Shanahan does not know if incumbent Beathard (knee, hip) will be able to practice Wednesday and indicated whomever he chooses between Beathard and Jimmy Garoppolo would need to take all the first-team practice snaps leading up to their game with the Chicago Bears. [ARI - QB Blaine Gabbert could start next season](=) Source: The Arizona Republic - Bob McManaman Arizona Cardinals QB [Blaine Gabbert]( could be the starting quarterback next season if QB [Carson Palmer]( retires, according to head coach Bruce Arians. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Cardinals are likely to be in the market for a quarterback of the future in 2018...especially if (when?) Carson Palmer retires. Gabbert is no long-term solution but he could serve as a bridge quarterback to fill in while a young player is groomed. [NYJ - QB Josh McCown in until lights go out]( Source: SNY - Ralph Vacchiano New York Jets QB [Josh McCown]( will continue to be the starter while the Jets are mathematically alive in the playoff hunt, according to multiple team sources. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] The Jets have Christian Hackenberg and Bryce Petty behind McCown but they're not turning to one of those young quarterbacks just yet. While the Jets aren't going anywhere, they are not officially eliminated from the postseason. McCown retains streaming value for fantasy owners so long as he's the starter.
