1. [CAR - RB Christian McCaffrey to lose a few snaps?]()
Source: The Charlotte Observer - Joseph Person
Carolina Panthers RB [Christian McCaffrey]( may cede a bit of work on passing downs moving forward to [Cameron Artis-Payne](, as head coach Ron Rivera expressed concern about the rookie's continued ability to hold up against linebackers.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Rivera's main concern was about McCaffrey getting used as a blocker when he's in as a receiver. Artis-Payne may take a few snaps away from the talented rookie, but we don't see that making a huge dent in McCaffrey's fantasy value.

2. DEN - RB Jamaal Charles ready to play
Source: NFL
Denver Broncos RB [Jamaal Charles]( (non-injury) fully participated in practice Saturday, Oct. 28, and is not on the injury report for Week 8.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Broncos have been talking for weeks about getting Charles more involved. He wants to 'take the training wheels off' as he said earlier in the week. Charles is ready to do more, and this matchup against his former team on Monday would be a perfect time to do that. We've got him as a flex-worthy player for fantasy owners in Week 8.

3. [KC - RB Charcandrick West on track to play](
Source: Chiefs.com - B.J. Kissel
Kansas City Chiefs RB [Charcandrick West]( (concussion) fully participated in practice Saturday, Oct. 28, and is not on the injury report for Week 8.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
West is going to play a change-of-pace role for the Chiefs behind Kareem Hunt. The Broncos sometimes struggle with pass-catching backs, so West is a 'what the heck' flex in Week 8.

4. [CIN - WR John Ross not expected to be limited](
Source: ESPN.com - Katherine Terrell
Cincinnati Bengals WR [John Ross]( (knee) is not expected to have a snap count against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 8, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Katherine Terrell.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Ross won't be limited, but fantasy owners shouldn't expect the speedy rookie to do much. Even against a bad Colts defense, Ross is just a 'what the heck' flex in Week 8.

5. [WAS - S DeAngelo Hall may be activated soon](
Source: NBCSportsWashington.com - Rich Tandler
Washington Redskins S DeAngelo Hall (knee) may be activated from the Physically Unable to Perform list next week, according to head coach Jay Gruden.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
All signs are pointing towards Hall making a return in the near future. With Washington's secondary having some struggles, he'll be a welcome addition to the safety position.

6. [KC - OLB Justin Houston misses practice]()
Source: ESPN.com - Adam Teicher
Kansas City Chiefs LB Justin Houston (knee) did not participate in practice Saturday, Oct. 28, but he is expected to play in Week 8.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Chiefs have lost two in a row but are at home this week to face a reeling Denver Broncos team. Having Houston out there to chase QB Trevor Siemian around will greatly help the Chiefs.

7. [BUF - Buffalo has no plans to cut WR Anquan Boldin](=)
Source: WKBW.com - Joe Buscaglia
Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane said the Bills have no plans of releasing WR [Anquan Boldin]( from his contract if they are not able to move him before the trade deadline.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Boldin wants to play....just not in Buffalo. The Bills own his rights even though Boldin wasn't with the team for two weeks before deciding to call it quits. They've allowed him to try to find a trade partner before next Tuesday's trade deadline.

8. [DEN - WR Emmanuel Sanders questionable for Week 8]()
Source: The Denver Post - Nicki Jhabvala
Denver Broncos WR [Emmanuel Sanders]( (ankle) has yet to practice and is listed as questionable on the injury report for Week 8 against the Kansas City Chiefs.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Sanders is likely to be a game-time decision on Monday night. Fantasy owners shouldn't plan on Sanders playing in Week 8. That leads to more bracket coverage for Demaryius Thomas. The Broncos offense is reeling after getting shutout against the Chargers in Week 7. Things could be rocky on the road in Arrowhead Stadium this week.

9. [HOU - Duane Brown activated](
Source: NFL.com - Ian Rapoport
Houston Texans OT Duane Brown was activated to the 53-man roster Saturday, Oct. 28. OT Kendall Lamm was waived in a corresponding move.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Brown was holding out due to displeasure over his contract situation, but he had to report so his contract didn't toll. He's activated for Week 8 against the Seahawks and will provide a huge upgrade in pass protection back in his starting left tackle role.

10. [ARI - WR John Brown not getting much of a chance](=)
Source: Pro Football Focus
Arizona Cardinals WR [John Brown]( has had a NFL-high 48.1 percent of the passes thrown in his direction ruled uncatchable this season, slightly more than second-place [Zay Jones]( of the Buffalo Bills (46.2) and third-place [Kamar Aiken]( (44.4).
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
With Drew Stanton (or Blaine Gabbert) at quarterback, things are looking dire for the Cardinals pass-catchers. Fantasy owners can feel free to move on from Brown for better options on the waiver wire.

11. [NE - QB Tom Brady chucking it deep](=)
Source: Pro Football Focus
New England Patriots QB [Tom Brady]( leads the league with 18 deep completions (passes completed 20 yards beyond the line of scrimmage), one more than second-place [Alex Smith]( of the Kansas City Chiefs and five more than third-place [Carson Wentz]( of the Philadelphia Eagles.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Brady is 4th in the league in passes attempted 20 yards or more downfield as 14.5 percent of his passes meet that distinction. The league average for such passes is 10.6 percent. As Brady is launching more passes deep, we're seeing a better connection with WR Brandin Cooks.

12. [TB - QB Jameis Winston nursing multiple injuries]()
Source: JoeBucsFan.com
Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB [Jameis Winston]( (shoulder) suffered a bruise deltoid muscle in his throwing shoulder and aggravated the AC joint sprain in the same shoulder in Week 7 versus the Buffalo Bills, according to head coach Dirk Koetter.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Winston is banged up, but he's got an interesting matchup against the Panthers in Week 8. The Buccaneers defense leaves a lot to be desired and if they allow Cam Newton and the Panthers to jump out to a lead, then Winston could come back at them with the Tampa passing attack. He's a QB1 for fantasy owners on Sunday.

13. [PIT - Two Pittsburgh players ruled out](=)
Source: NFL.com
Pittsburgh Steelers TE [Vance McDonald]( (knee) and OT Marcus Gilbert (hamstring) have been ruled out for Week 8's game against the Detroit Lions.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
McDonald was coming off a season-high 2-catch, 37-yard performance against the Bengals in Week 7. Just as he was starting to play more snaps, McDonald will miss the Sunday night game against Detroit. This creates more opportunity for Jesse James in Week 8.

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
The National Football League is reviewing the hit from Miami Dolphins LB Kiko Alonso on Baltimore Ravens QB [Joe Flacco]( during Week 8's game, although it is uncertain if Alonso will be suspended.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
We could see Alonso suspended for a game and get a heavy fine for the brutal hit on Flacco. We'll know more about his status next week.

15. [SEA - DE Damontre Moore visits Seattle](
Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
Free-agent DE Damontre Moore (Cowboys) visited the Seattle Seahawks Friday, Oct. 27, according to a source.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Moore couldn't make it as a situational pass rusher with the Cowboys, so he's on the open market looking for work. He was with the Seahawks last November and stayed with the team until his release in March of 2017. Seattle is probably just updating their emergency list.

16. [TB - RB Doug Martin facing tough test]()
Source: ESPN.com
Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB [Doug Martin]( faces the Carolina Panthers in Week 8, and the Panthers haven't allowed more than 67 yards to a running back in any game this year.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Tampa defense isn't helping out the rushing attack. As opponents can score on Tampa, the offense has to go away from the rushing attack. Martin is involved in all phases of the game, which helps his fantasy value but don't expect him to get more than the season-high 20 carries he had last week.

17. [CIN - QB Andy Dalton trending up]()
Source: ESPN.com
Cincinnati Bengals QB [Andy Dalton]( has thrown multiple touchdowns in three of the four games since Bill Lazor was named the offensive coordinator.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Lazor was named offensive coordinator on September 15th, and since then we've seen more from Dalton. The game where he didn't have multiple touchdowns was in Week 5 against the Bills, and Dalton had over 300 yards passing. Dalton could top 300 yards this week against a Colts secondary that always gets picked on, allowing 301 yards per game which is the 2nd-worst in the NFL this season.

18. [MIN - WR Adam Thielen delivering big plays](
Source: ESPN.com
Minnesota Vikings WR [Adam Thielen]( ranks fourth in the NFL with 529 receiving yards through Week 7, and his nine catches of 20-plus yards rank second in the league.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Thielen is top 10 in targets so far this year (62) and he's got an air-yards-per-target average of 9.87, a mark that ranks above the league average of 8.65 yards. He also has 135 yards after the catch so far in 2017. With the quarterback situation potentially in flux (Teddy Bridgewater back, Sam Bradford getting healthy), we should continue to see Thielen heavily involved no matter who is lined up under center.

19. [NYG - TE Evan Engram aiming for more](=)
Source: New York Daily News - John Healy
New York Giants TE [Evan Engram]( said he won't become complacent despite his early success, and he is ready to 'embrace' an increased role.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
With a banged up WR corps, the Giants need to turn to Engram more in the passing game. The rookie first-round pick from Ole Miss plays like a super-sized WR anyway, and he creates mismatches every time he's on the field. Engram has ran the 10th-most routes (167) of any TE this year, and his targets on the season (35) rank 12th-highest in the league.

20. [NO - CB Marshon Lattimore a shutdown corner?]()
Source: NFL.com - Kevin Patra
New Orleans Saints CB Marshon Lattimore said his goal is to be a Darrelle Revis-type corner, and FS Kenny Vaccaro said he believes Lattimore could be defending receivers on an island within the next couple of games.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Lattimore was a first-round pick for the Saints in 2017, selected 11th overall out of Ohio State. Many in the scouting community compared Lattimore's game to Vontae Davis (Colts) because of his physical playing style. He missed the Week 3 game against the Panthers (concussion), but already in his rookie season Lattimore has shown he's got incredible upside as a pro.

21. [CAR - RB Christian McCaffrey staying patient](=)
Source: ESPN.com - David Newton
Carolina Panthers RB [Christian McCaffrey]( expects big plays to come, and he said he is trying to avoid pressing. 'Right now it's just being patient,' McCaffrey said. 'You've got to let the game come to you. You can't press. You can't try to make something crazy happen when nothing is there.'
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
McCaffrey was a patient runner in college at Stanford, and he's staying that way as a pro. He doesn't try to do too much with the ball in his hands, and McCaffrey is only averaging 2.53 yards per carry. His long carry of the year is 11 yards. McCaffrey's biggest impact comes as a receiver out of the backfield where he's averaging 7.48 yards per reception and has a long reception of 37 yards.

22. [SF - Joe Staley happy in San Francisco]()
Source: San Francisco Chronicle - Eric Branch
San Francisco 49ers OT Joe Staley dismissed trade rumors Thursday, Oct. 26, and said he has always wanted to play for the 49ers.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Staley would be a hot trade option for teams like the Eagles or the Broncos. Anybody is on the trade block if the price is right, but as Tuesday's trade deadline looms it just seems like Staley is staying put.
