URGENT ACTION NEEDED: Stop IRREVERSIBLE damage to 5,053 acres of public lands from greedy fossil fuel companies in North Dakota and Montana! The ground shakes as massive fracking rigs plunge high-pressure water into the ground. Cracks form. Noxious odors invade the air. Animals scatter in fear, their habitat disintegrating. Our public lands are under attack with fracking and oil drilling. The impacts extend to nearby communities -- wastewater can contaminate local drinking sources, sometimes with radioactive waste! [Friend, will you tell the Department of Interior to STOP the sale of Montana and North Dakota public lands to the highest fossil fuel bidder?]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( So much of our country is being paved over and developed. Meadows turned into endless commercial developments and strip malls. Trees slashed and replaced with parking lots. Public lands should be a place where nature is conserved and protected -- not get leased to greedy companies who want to loot nature’s resources. The Department of Interior has an open comment period in which YOU can ask them to CANCEL the lease sale. These comments really do make a difference -- and we’ve set a goal of 781 more signatures from your area. The comment deadline closes in just a FEW DAYS! [Can you take just 30 seconds right now to keep fossil fuel corporations off our public lands?]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( Standing with you, Nicole Ghio Fossil Fuels Program Manager, Friends of the Earth Contact Us: Friends of the Earth U.S. Washington, D.C. | Berkeley, CA 1-877-843-8687 [Contact us](foe.org/about-us/contact/) Email Preferences: [Click here to unsubscribe]( Learn more: www.foe.org/news www.foe.org/about-us www.foeaction.org Connect: [Facebook]( [Twitter]( [Flickr]( © 2021, Friends of the Earth.
