URGENT ACTION NEEDED: Toxic pollution from factory farms is poisoning our communities and endangering our planet. URGENT ACTION NEEDED: Toxic pollution from factory farms is poisoning our communities and endangering our planet. [Take action now! >>]( Imagine if every breath you take was filled with dangerous pollutants like methane and ammonia. For those living in the frontline communities near factory farms, that is the reality — putting them at risk of serious health impacts. Factory farms aren’t just polluting our atmosphere and harming air quality, but they’re speeding up the climate crisis, too. Even the helpless livestock on these harmful factory farms are suffering. Thousands of animals are crammed together in filthy, inhumane conditions that are a breeding ground for hazardous viruses and antibiotic resistant bacteria. All of that nasty pollution and animal waste produced from these operations can seep into groundwater, contaminating the surrounding soil and local drinking water sources. But the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has FAILED to protect people and the planet from toxic factory farm pollution. And now, the EPA is supporting the use of massive amounts of animal waste to produce methane gas under the guise of “clean energy”. But the truth is that factory farm gas will only further entrench the corporate factory farms that are destroying our planet and hurting our communities. [Please, Friend, won’t you step up for our Earth today and demand that the EPA end its support of toxic factory farm gas?]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( Let’s be clear: gas created from animal waste is NOT a form of CLEAN ENERGY. Burning gas from animal waste pollutes just like fossil fuel gas. Neither is a sustainable solution for our planet and both exacerbate the climate crisis. Factory farm pollution harms ALL of us. But factory farms are disproportionately located in already overburdened communities, so it’s often low-wealth BIPOC people who are impacted the most. Producing gas from industrial scale animal waste adds to health and environmental harms — including toxic air emissions and water pollution, and it further perpetuates environmental injustice. Big Meat and Dairy corporations that run these factory farms don’t want us to know how dangerous and harmful they are. So, unless there is federal pushback, these greedy companies will continue profiting from putting public health, animals, and the planet at risk. That’s why we need to urge the EPA to challenge factory farm gas production, not support it! The EPA has a duty to keep all of us safe from environmental threats, and we expect accountability. Our goal is to get 4,003 more activists to sign our petition by 11:59 P.M. tonight to show the EPA that we have strong public support. [Can we count on you to be one of the environmentalists who speaks up today? ADD YOUR NAME NOW: Tell the EPA to oppose using animal waste for dirty energy and to STOP supporting toxic factory farm gas! >>]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( Thanks for defending the planet from toxic gas emissions!
