Soft, fresh, powdery snow blankets the quiet landscape. Icicles dangle elegantly from delicate branches. The tree tops look like they’re covered in frosting. But wait! -- what’s this?! A BLOODY CARCASS?! GUTS SCATTERED ON THE FOREST FLOOR?! HELPLESS CRIES OF YOUNG WOLF PUPS?! Not exactly the winter wonderland you had pictured, is it, Friend? The holiday season is a cheerful time for many, but for gray wolves, it is one of the most vulnerable times. In the heart of winter, it’s critical that wolf packs stick together to increase their chances of finding scarce food, staying warm, and surviving the cold, harsh season. Nursing mama wolves must fiercely protect and provide for their precious pups who are too young and weak to leave the den. But one FATAL THREAT that even a wolf’s instinct can’t win against is brutal trophy hunters. These vicious killers will murder innocent gray wolves for sport, using some of the most disgustingly inhumane methods that you can imagine, Friend. Trophy hunters are violently massacring innocent gray wolves in droves, and we must do more if we’re going to SAVE THEM FROM EXTINCTION. Please, Friend, it’s getting cold out there for helpless wolves struggling to survive the winter: [Will you extend your warmth today and sign our petition now to help keep these beloved canines safe? Demand stronger federal protections for gray wolves now! >>]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( Although the holiday season might feel a lot different for us than for gray wolves, there is one common thread we share during these winter months: it’s a time for family. Wolves are already social creatures, and scientists have confirmed they develop deep emotional bonds. Their pack is their family, and their chances of survival significantly increase as a pack. Wolf packs are even known to raise pups together! But these tight-knit families can also be ripped apart violently in an INSTANT, Friend. Ruthless trophy hunters are preparing for winter by loading up on ammo, firearms, and other deadly weapons. They’re devising cruel ways to bait, lure, choke, injure, trap, shoot, pulverize, and slaughter innocent gray wolves. That includes running these weak and tired animals over with snowmobiles -- and blowing up defenseless wolf pups with dynamite while they sleep in their dens. If the gray wolf population is wiped out by brutal trophy hunters, it will not only be devastating to our planet’s ecosystem, but it will be simply heartbreaking to lose one of North America's most treasured native mammals. That’s why we’re calling on the Biden administration to urgently strengthen Endangered Species Act (ESA) protections for these special animals. [But in order to have an impact, we still need 3,429 more activists like you to step up by signing our petition before the DEADLINE TONIGHT at 11:59pm. Can we count on you to speak up right now in defense of voiceless gray wolves before it’s too late?]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( Thanks for using your voice to protect our precious gray wolves, Friends of the Earth Contact Us: Friends of the Earth U.S. Washington, D.C. | Berkeley, CA 1-877-843-8687 [Contact us](foe.org/about-us/contact/) Email Preferences: [Click here to unsubscribe]( Learn more: www.foe.org/news www.foe.org/about-us www.foeaction.org Connect: [Facebook]( [Twitter]( [Flickr]( © 2021, Friends of the Earth.
