URGENT ACTION NEEDED: Orcas are at risk of DYING OUT due to STARVATION! After the heartbreaking deaths of beloved orcas Cappuccino and Marina last year, along with the loss of several new calves, it’s more critical than ever that we protect the dwindling Southern Resident Killer Whale population that now has only 75 remaining orcas. But the dramatic loss of Chinook salmon has led orcas to STARVATION, STRESS, and MISCARRIAGES. [If orcas are going to have a chance at survival, we must STOP the fishing industry from destroying their main food source. Add your name now >>]( [SIGN THE PETITION NOW]( Without enough Chinook and other salmon to feed on, ORCAS WILL STARVE TO DEATH -- particularly pregnant whales who are more likely to miscarry due to the stress and lack of nutrients. In fact, more than ⅔ of whale pregnancies fail, and scientists point to overfishing as one of the main drivers. The National Marine Fisheries Service is the agency tasked with protecting salmon, but they are failing to stop the dangerous increase in irresponsible commercial overfishing, which is driving orcas closer to extinction. These precious endangered mammals are already threatened by climate change, ocean acidification, and increased shipping pollution -- so unless we take action to IMMEDIATELY replenish the salmon population, orcas could die out forever. [Friend, will you help save orcas from extinction by signing the petition urging the NMFS to rein in overfishing?]( [SIGN THE PETITION NOW]( Thank you for protecting orcas.
