URGENT ACTION NEEDED: At the current rate of plastic waste, scientists agree that there will be more

URGENT ACTION NEEDED: At the current rate of plastic waste, scientists agree that there will be more plastic than fish in the ocean by 2050. Plastic pollution kills OVER A MILLION marine animals annually, including turtles, dolphins, whales, and seabirds, by ingesting these toxic products or becoming entangled in them. Research even found that almost ALL BABY SEA TURTLES are born with plastic ALREADY in their stomachs! But corporations won’t slow down on plastic production because they care more about profits, so plastics are consuming our beaches and our oceans. [And if we don’t do something now to PREVENT this PLASTIC APOCALYPSE, it will have devastating impacts on our entire marine ecosystem. Will you take action now to reduce plastic pollution?]( [SIGN THE PETITION NOW]( Plastics don’t ever disappear. They are not biodegradable, so instead, they just continue to break down into smaller and smaller pieces until they become microplastics. These tiny pieces can be spread all over, but they will NEVER actually leave the earth. That means that the longer we wait to take action on the plastic crisis, more and more plastic will be manufactured and discarded -- accumulating in our environment. When the toxic chemicals from plastic contaminates the air, water, and land, it puts wildlife, humans, and our planet at risk. But we can STOP these harmful plastics from building up and hurting the earth if we take immediate action NOW. [Please, Friend, demand action on plastic pollution by adding your name right away.]( [SIGN THE PETITION NOW]( Thanks for your urgent action, Friends of the Earth Contact Us: Friends of the Earth U.S. Washington, D.C. | Berkeley, CA 1-877-843-8687 [Contact us](foe.org/about-us/contact/) Email Preferences: [Click here to unsubscribe]( Learn more: www.foe.org/news www.foe.org/about-us www.foeaction.org Connect: [Facebook]( [Twitter]( [Flickr]( © 2021, Friends of the Earth.
