Quick update. Not sure what's going on at Facebook but I'm getting off-the-chart engagement right now. I've not adjusted strategies or posts for a long time. Same posting strategy, 3x+ traffic overnight. Here are some post results from the last 3 days. Several others also did very well. These stellar results are way above average. It's as if Facebook flipped a switch. Here's Facebook traffic over the last 30 days: The content I post to FB is not seasonal. In other words, the recent spike isn't due to seaonality. Besides, seasonality is almost always more gradual than the traffic chart above. What types of FB posts? The best type. They're all link posts which drives the most traffic to a website. Not only do link posts drive the most traffic but they're the fastest to post (past your blog url, say a few words or toss in a few emojis and click "publish" (or schedule). It's possible this is an anomy for only my page but that would strike me as odd given I've not changed anything about how I run my FB page. Does it work for every niche? No, FB doesn't work for every niche. But, there is often an angle you can take in many niches that could work. It might take trial and error. When FB reach is weak for the most engaging pages, it's not worth the time to test it out. But in times like this when it appears FB is ramping up engagement, it's worth a shot. The best starting point is to look at pages in your niche to see if they're getting some decent engagement. For course members, I suggest checking out the Facebook module and the extremely helpful Fat Stacks forum thread titled "My Facebook Traffic Strategy - 3 Million Pageviews Per Month". I recommend starting slow. Start with a few posts per week to see if there's any uptick. Don't throw piles of money at it if you invest in ads. You can assess results quickly with small efforts. That's one nice thing about Facebook and that is results are instant which makes testing so easy. Is ad revenue from Facebook traffic good? Yeah, it's quite good. Facebook traffic is definitely on par for me with search traffic. Same with Pinterest traffic. How long will the good times at Facebook last? Who knows? Facebook is fickle like any other traffic source. It can be good for a year then not so good. Here's the thing. All traffic sources can be fickle. Search has long been the most consistent but that's changed for many over the last 8 months. Search is still my largest traffic source (by far) but the recent fast-growing FB and Pinterest traffic is sure a nice top-up. Something to keep in mind. Which software do I use to post to Facebook? I use [MeetEdgar]( but that isn't for everyone. I use it because I have so many different posts in the library to recycle. MeetEdgar's claim to fame is you can recycle/repost on auto-pilot. You need to be careful with MeetEdgar though. If you don't have a lot of posts in your inventory, MeetEdgar will automatically keep posting previous posts which can result in the same FB posts getting posted in a short period of time. That will annoy your FB page followers. Yes, you can post without sending it into the reposting inventory, but that defeats the purpose of MeetEdgar. If you don't have enough posts for using MeetEdgar properly, I like [Social Pilot](. I've used that recently for some smaller pages. It's one of the better multi-platform social media posting tools I've used. Do you need 3rd party software to post to Facebook? No. Do not pay for software when starting out with Facebook. Facebook has a built-in scheduler. Start with that; it's free. It's more than good enough. Once you have working process you want to scale and are driving decent traffic, then invest in social media posting software... if you think it'll save time. Many people just stick with the Facebook scheduler. I use MeetEdgar so I can recycle and repost on autopilot.
