Lately I've had writer's block for Fat Stacks. It happens. That's all I got today. Have a good weekend. Jon P.S. The argument for staying involved with your sites I've been focusing on my other sites. Fat Stacks has not been on my mind which explains my recent silence. It's not lack of time. I can usually blast out an email in 30 to 45 minutes. Instead I've been 100% focused on my other sites. I'll briefly discuss that as well. Before I do, here's today's ad. --------------------------------------------------------------- -CROSS PROMOTION AD-* ¢Â€Â‹ Looking to learn something new or level up your skills? [Check out Discover Fest 2021]( by Teachable. If you've done keyword research before you know what I'm talking about. In the beginning of KW research it's slow going. Results are either way too competitive or I've already covered them before. But as I dig deeper and filter down into a specific topic it doesn't take long to find a great keyword vein. It always happens. If it didn't, my sites would be completed. They're far from complete. And it's the same with coming up with topics for email newsletters, videos, podcasts etc. The more I do it, the more ideas that come to me. Because I've been so busy with my other sites, I've not put any time or thought into Fat Stacks. Here and there I'd open Convertkit in an effort to pen a quick email but I came up crickets. That's because I stopped writing emails for a couple/few weeks. The simple act of writing spawns more ideas. Same with keyword research. The more KWs I find, the more I find. And that is a very good reason to be hands-on with your sites. I'll wrap this up with explaining what I've been doing. I bought two sites and rolled them into some existing sites. I also bought some aged domains and launched new sites on those. While merging sites isn't that difficult, I've been working on putting together extensive content plans for these sites. Which brings me to another interesting observation about this process and that is I tend to take a new site more seriously when I spend more than the usual $15 on the domain. The sites I bought were relatively cheap. One was $4K and the other $17K. Far from a six-figure investment but nevertheless a sizeable investment and so I took care to ensure I set those sites up for success. It's the same with buying aged domains. While they cost well under $5K, it's not chump change and so I really want to ensure I set those sites up properly with a solid content plan as well. And that's what I've been doing. I never planned to buy any sites or more aged domains. I just kinda happened. In time I'll get into whether these purchases paid off or were yet another frivolous frolic where I threw my money away. What else have I been up to? I wasted piles of time with [Shutterstock]( recently but finally hammered out a renewal deal with them. Yeah, they'll negotiate plans. What happened is because I have other people accessing Shutterstock, I have to pay for multiple user seats. That's where it gets expensive but it would be foolish to breach Shutterstock's TOS when I'm using Shutterstock to avoid legal problems (i.e. image copyright claims). The problem arose when due to some glitch never explained to me I could not access the users in my account. Therefore I couldn't add users or remove users. I was paying for these 10 seats but couldn't manage them. It took 4 months to fix. I can't for the life of me figure out why it took so long. I was so fed up that I started looking for alternatives. iStock is good but the inventory isn't as good as Shutterstock and price is about the same. Depositphotos dropped the ball. I invited them to submit a quote for my needs and they quoted almost double what I pay Shutterstock. I said no thanks. They said they could severely reduce the price but I didn't feel like haggling again. Had they quoted 2/3 the Shutterstock cost, I'd be tempted. And then I found [Jumpstory]( (20% off with coupon FSTACKS20) stock photos. Actually it turned out I had an account. I did some image searches that fit my niches and the results were good. I then noticed that for one low price, I get unlimited image downloads every month. I couldn't beat that. So I signed up and paid for a few more seats. Now if my Shutterstock allotment is used up (which is likely due to my increasing content output), I can download as many as I need from Jumpstory for a fraction of what I'm paying Shutterstock. Why do I stay with Shutterstock? Because Shutterstock has an incredible inventory and there are some articles that require very specific images that only Shutterstock offers. If it weren't for that I'd ditch Shutterstock and use Jumpstory exclusively. More good news... I'm sure you're not surprise but I'm also an affiliate for Jumpstory. As an affiliate I get to provide you a 20% discount coupon code if you join which you can do here. Just use coupon code FSTACKS20 at checkout... [sign up here](. P.P.S. *I was not paid to run the Teachable ad. Instead, it's a quid pro quo deal where in exchange for promoting Teachable's Discover Fest, Teachable will promote my course which is hosted and sold on the Teachable platform. Affiliate disclaimer: I usually put a lot of effort into these emails. I know, I know, it may not always seem like it, but I try. In an effort to make a few bucks for my effort, I often link to various products and courses. Assume these links are affiliate links. If you choose to click and buy, THANK YOU. It makes this thing possible. [Unsubscribe]( | [Update your profile]( | 2016 Hill Drive, North Vancouver, British Columbia V7H 2N5
