Hey everyone, it's Matt. I hope you had a happy Thanksgiving, as happy as is possible during all this. We cooked our first Thanksgiving Turkey together as a family here in Utah, jumping on a video call to celebrate with family out of state. Like many people, we've started decorating for Christmas way too early, to help cheer ourselves up. For fun I decided to record a new YouTube video, sharing some of my favorite gift ideas for travelers, and even dressing up for the occasion! I love making these videos, and am hoping to do more in the future. Let me know what you'd like to see! If you're curious what it looks like, I published a blog post featuring gift ideas for people who work from home -- based largely on my setup. Go check it out! ➜ [My Home Office Setup]( [dashed-line.jpg] Citizenship Hacking: How To Become Mexican
In a few months Anna, Dylan, and I will be traveling to Mexico to give birth to our newest member of the family. Why Mexico? Well, to keep it short, COVID-19 has made the birth process here in Utah pretty unpredictable. It should be more straightforward at a private international hospital in Mexico. Not to mention FAR cheaper -- for equal quality care. The health system in the US is really screwed up. Medical tourism is a thing for a reason. Even with US health insurance, and renting an apartment in Mexico for a few months, we'll save thousands of dollars. As a bonus, if we have our baby in Mexico, he's eligible for Mexican citizenship. Also known as "jus soli" or birthright citizenship, Mexico has similar rules as the United States and Canada does. Not only him, but the rest of us can become Mexican too. And quite soon actually. If you've been following along, that means our kids will have: US, Polish, Irish, and now Mexican citizenship. Sure, it's a bit overkill. We've both lived in Mexico for a few years in the past, and while we're not planning a move to Mexico anytime soon, it gives us and our kids more opportunities for where to live in the future. Who knows what the world will look like... (speaking of, make sure to read my new book recommendation below!) I'll make sure to write an article all about the experience when I can. Yes, COVID is a concern. Getting it or giving it to others. And we'll be traveling as safely as possible. Getting tested, wearing masks, and staying away from crowds. [dashed-line.jpg] My Re-Launched Print Shop (25% Holiday Discount!)
