IEA E-Newsletter October 2023 [DONATE]( [VOLUNTEER]( [CONTACT US]( [October 2023 IEA E-Newsletter Header ] 25th Anniversary Celebration Gala, EXPLORE Workshops, and Yunasa 2024 Dates! As you may know, IEA is celebrating its 25th Anniversary, and while we have had several events over this past year, we held our largest celebration on September 23: our Celebration Gala! It was a wonderful evening spending time with our friends and family. We honored our past Board Chairs, reminisced with our founders, Betsy Jones and Jim Davis, about the early days when they started IEA and shed a few tears with our longstanding Senior Fellow Michael Piechowski who announced his retirement. We have had a great start to our fall programs: Academy is in full swing with exciting classes and dedicated students, EXPLORE workshops have open enrollment, and applications are open for Yunasa 2024. 25TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION GALA . IEA celebrated the 25th anniversary of its founding on September 23 with a fantastic celebration gala at the San Gabriel Country Club! It was an honor to spend the evening with our students, families, supporters, board members and community at-large and commemorate all our accomplishments in serving gifted youth. Here’s to the next 25, 50, and 75 years! If you weren’t able to attend, our Development Manager, Jane Laudeman, shares her thoughts on the event in our newest blog post. The program book and photos from the evening are available on our website. Take a look! [BLOG]( [GALA WEBSITE]( ACADEMY . Fall Academy is happening at the Learning Center! Students are having a great time developing calming techniques, learning to play the ukulele and photographing the universe in Space and UFOs. Afterschool programming starts the week of October 30 and will run into early 2024. EXPLORE Now open for enrollment: two workshops for 13- to 18-year-olds, both centered on biotechnology! [MORE INFORMATION]( ) YUNASA . We are excited to announce that applications for Yunasa 2024 are open! IEA’s award-winning Yunasa camp embraces gifted children for who they are, helping them understand and work with the unique joys and challenges that gifted children face. Many traditional programs for gifted youth focus solely on intellectual abilities, overlooking the need for these children to grow in all aspects of their lives. Yunasa supports the whole gifted child, encouraging growth and support of campers intellectually, socially, emotionally, spiritually, and physically. Yunasa West (Ages 10-15): June 8 - 15, 2024 Yunasa Michigan (Ages 10-14): July 13 - July 20, 2024 Financial aid is available for families in need. He is beloved by campers and staff and has assisted in creating what we call the magic of Yunasa. Michael brought psychosynthesis to Yunasa and has attended every camp for the last 22 years. It is with immense gratitude that we announce his retirement.
