3+ million dogs were brought to shelters in the U.S. in 2022. We can help this, together. [View an online version of this email]( Last year in the U.S., 3+ million dogs ended up in shelters. More than 50% of these cases were due to preventable behavioral problems. This is why Dogs Trust USA is proud to work with shelters across the country on our [Dog School]( and behavior programs to help dogs find loving homes. Dogs like Tawny, an adopted rescue from Bideawee in New York. Before joining Dog School, she was a strong pup with energy to spare. Our coaches worked indoors with Tawny on loose leash walking and sitting when her owner stopped.⁣ The result of her time at Dog School? A happy owner and a happy Tawny able to walk together in the busy streets of Manhattan. If you want to help dogs in need, celebrate Adopt a Shelter Pet Day on April 30 by joining our [monthly giving circle](. A donation of $99 a month will provide training and support for 12 shelter pups each year. For anyone interested in adopting, Dogs Trust USA created a [video series]( on how to successfully adopt a dog, including topics like how to determine what dog is right for you, traveling with a new dog, and reading body language.
