Friend, did you vote last November to have our taxpayer funds push right-wing conspiracies with hours and hours of public hearings? I certainly did not. And neither did most Americans. But the new House GOP [has set up a committee](—chaired by MAGA Rep. Jim Jordan—to investigate "weaponization" by the federal government, and it’s funded with our taxpayer dollars. [Sign the petition to the GOP: Stop wasting my money on frivolous investigations.]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( The committee will be a place for right-wingers in Congress to vent about how the deep state is being unfair to conservatives. Jordan [himself told The Hill]( he wants to use the committee to investigate, for example, how the U.S. Department of Justice "treats parents as terrorists." Make no mistake. This is an excuse to harass government officials who are doing their job, and a [majority of Americans]( see it for what it is: an attempt to score political points. Jim Jordan can ramble on talk radio or Fox News about his latest right-wing grievance against the government. But he can't do it on the taxpayers' dime in a congressional committee. [Sign the petition to the GOP: Stop wasting my money on frivolous investigations.]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( Keep fighting, Paul Hogarth, Daily Kos P.S. My colleague Erin Tulley sent you the email below about this issue last week. --------------------------------------------------------------- Friend, [sign to stop this: No more wasted taxpayer money on frivolous GOP hearings.]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( During the 2022 midterms, the GOP showed their hand. Candidates ran on platforms of theatrical and baseless [impeachment]( threats and a flood of “[investigations](” – all of which will ONLY serve to waste resources, time, and lots of taxpayer money. Now that the GOP has control of the U.S. House, the pomp and circumstance has begun. A "Weaponization of the Federal Government" subcommittee has been formed and hearings have begun to try and prove the federal government has been weaponized — specifically against conservatives. Americans are not fooled: [56%]( see this subcommittee and its hearings as "an attempt to score political points" rather than a legitimate investigation. [Sign the petition to the GOP: Stop wasting money on frivolous investigations, hearings, and subcommittees.]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( The major problem is, WE fund these theatrics. Taxpayer money is wasted with every crocodile tear the GOP plans to sling during these unnecessary and frivolous hearings. Join us and demand they stop this nonsense: We do not care about your politicizing, now stop wasting our money! [Sign the petition to the GOP: Stop wasting money on frivolous investigations, hearings, and subcommittees.]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( Thanks for all you do, Erin Tulley, Daily Kos Daily Kos Relies on Readers Like You We don't have billionaire backers like some right-wing media outlets.
