Friend, Republican donors are giving up on the dumpster fire that is the Republican-led House and turning their resources towards gaining ground in the Senate. [This gives Democrats an opportunity to retake control of the House. However, it also means we need to double our efforts to hold on to the Senate. Daily Kos has a path forward to win, but we need your help to execute it. Can you donate $5 right now to support our Get Out the Vote plan?]( [PLEASE DONATE]( Democrats need to flip just five seats to take back control of the House. Daily Kos has identified 16 districts that Biden won but are currently represented by a Republican. I like those odds. Meanwhile, Democrats don't have it as easy in the Senate. Democrats are defending 23 seats to just 11 for Republicans, and three of those are in states Trump won. Several more are in swing states. Holding the Senate in 2024 is going to be hard. The bad news is that progressive advocacy organizations, Daily Kos included, have seen a big drop in their revenue. Many organizations have been forced to layoff staff, slash budgets, or shut down completely—this is going to make competing with Republican resources a lot harder across the movement. This is where Daily Kos comes in: Daily Kos is the country's largest progressive news and activism hub and we have a deep reach into the progressive movement. We have a long history of successfully recruiting large numbers of Get Out the Vote volunteers, supporting better Democratic candidates up and down the ballot, and supporting community-led organizations to mobilize voters. In 2020, Daily Kos recruited over 100,000 volunteers from our community of grassroots activists to help turn out the vote using innovative tools and a wide variety of proven Get Out The Vote methods. We also raised over $14 million for candidates and progressive community groups to help register, educate and turnout voters. Our goal is to repeat what we did in 2020: Recruit over 100,000 volunteers that connected with over a million voters and support Democratic candidates up and down the ballot. In fact, even though it is still early, we have already started to chip away our volunteer goal. We have already recruited at least 3,600 volunteers to be poll watchers, write letters to encourage people to boost turnout, and send postcards to voters in key states. Unfortunately, as I mentioned above, Daily Kos is faced with fewer financial resources as we dive into the 2024 elections and our Get Out the Vote campaign is not cheap. We are estimating that between the technology costs, staff time, and the expense of recruiting volunteers, our GOTV efforts will cost us nearly $200,000. [We can't repeat our 2020 electoral successes and win in 2024 with fewer resources. Please support Daily Kos's elections push with a donation of $5 or more today.]( [PLEASE DONATE]( Thank you for all you do, Amanda McKay, Daily Kos If you wish to donate by mail instead, please send a check to Daily Kos, PO Box 70036, Oakland, CA, 94612. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
