Friend, September was a tremendous month in terms of impact. As our campaigns to pass the Build Back

Friend, September was a tremendous month in terms of impact. As our campaigns to pass the Build Back Better Act, defend abortion rights and to protect our democracy cranked up, we sent 1,773,597 letters to Congress. This made September not only our best month of the year in terms of letters sent, but it was actually our best month of all-time. [We could not have achieved this volume of advocacy without the support of our readers and activists. Nearly half of our income comes from grassroots support of just a few bucks at a time. That's why I am asking you to support the work of Daily Kos by making a recurring donation of $5 a month.]( [Can't make a monthly donation? That's ok. A one-time donation of $5 still goes a long way to support our work.]( I wanted to give a you better idea of exactly the work our campaigners do day in and day out: - Paul has led our organizing efforts to pass the Build Back Better Act, with great help from the rest of our team. While the politics and sausage-making goes on in Washington, we kept the focus on why the bill matters: Climate, Health, Care, Citizenship and Tax the Rich—and to ask Democrats in Congress: are you with us, or with corporate lobbyists? Our persistent push is a big reason why Daily Kos sent more letters in September (over 1.7 million) than ever before. - Sarah lead our response to Texas’ implementation of anti-abortion bill SB8. Together, the team worked on actions to pass WHPA, expand the Supreme Court, and end corporate donations to anti-abortion legislators; fundraising for abortion funds in Texas and neighboring states; and more. Our campaign is ongoing and will shift focus this fall and winter as the Supreme Court hears a direct challenge to Roe and Casey. - Jayleen launched two immigration joint actions calling on Democrats to pass protections for migrants this year and calling on the Biden administration to end all deportations to Haiti. Jayleen worked with over 28 organizations to draft, edit, and share this petition language out to our communities. Jayleen also launched two pro-worker actions last month, calling on Nabisco and tortilla company El Milagro to end their campaign of abuse against workers and ensure that they are treated with dignity and respect. - Erin launched an End DeVos' Title IX campaign with the National Women's Law Center, calling on Biden and his admin to undo Trump's/DeVos' harmful policies and protect students and survivors. Daily Kos and NWLC delivered the signatures the first week of October. - Marquese's highlights include his petition campaign to Alabama lawmakers to vote no on new prisons and talking about how the BBB plan works for Black people specifically.  - Mayra's September highlights are two campaigns focusing on corporate accountability. The first targeted corporations that funded the Texas anti-abortion bill SB8. Mayra's second highlight was a swap petitioning Facebook to end its algorithm. The only thing Facebook seems to care about is its image, so showing that reports about them are having an effect on their image is important. [This is just a taste of the issues and actions that the Daily Kos advocacy team takes on every day—and there is still so much more we need to do. Your donations directly help us carry on this work, that's why I am asking you to support Daily Kos by giving $5 a month.]( [Can't make a monthly donation? That's ok. A one-time donation of $5 still goes a long way to support our work.]( Thanks for all you do, Amanda McKay, Daily Kos If you wish to donate by mail instead, please send a check to Daily Kos, PO Box 70036, Oakland, CA, 94612.
