I missed NYE ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ â?

I missed NYE ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ If you read my email yesterday, you know that I just finished up a relaunch of CopyHour... and that Justin Goff sent a lot of new subscribers my way. So I'm doing a couple Justin-inspired emails with lessons I learned from the relaunch (& these are completely different lessons than the ones Justin is emailing about). Here's the second lesson from a $120k relaunch: On New Year's Eve I wasn't out at a party celebrating. I wasn't hanging out on the couch with my beautiful wife. I wasn't even asleep in bed. No... I was re-filming an upsell video when the ball dropped. I missed the final countdown. Why? Well, I was getting done what I knew needed to get done. Those that have been on my list for a long time know I'm not a "hustle bro". I'm more of a "lifestyle bro" than anything. So don't get me wrong... I'm not bragging about my work ethic in this email. But if there's one thing that having children has taught me... it's that if you want to accomplish something... you gotta squeeze work in wherever you can. And you can't complain about it. Or wish that it could somehow be different. Because it is what is when you have kids. (If you're hip enough, you can take the "kids" part out of this equation and the message still applies.) Generally my relaunches for CopyHour are pretty chill... but this one was different. It was the holidays and my oldest son wound up in the hospital with RSV. Then my youngest got it too and we nearly took him to the emergency room. All the while, the kids obviously weren't in school and my wife and I were both sick. Wild. I had a epiphany very late, right before the launch on the 1st, that the upsell wasn't up-to-snuff. So instead of just letting it be... And after I put the kids to bed at 8pm... I went back to work. And that meant I missed the arbitrary changing of the calendar from '23 to '24. In the past, I probably would have felt like I was missing out on something by not partying. But now, I know that what I'd actually be missing out on... would be that deep satisfaction of doing what you know needs to be done. So that's my second lesson from the relaunch. It's not really a copywriting lesson, but a mindset lesson: If you want to win, you have to do what it takes. You miss out on certain unimportant things but you gain the keys to your own happiness and fulfillment. That got a little deeper than I anticipated. But actually, I could go A LOT deeper. Maybe some other time... Cheers! - Derek P.S. Can you do me a big favor? I want to better understand what your end goal with CopyHour looks like, so I can better tailor my content toward helping you. I've put together a 30 second survey to help me figure this out. Yes, it only takes 30 seconds to fill out… and will help me help you better. [ Here’s the Google Form link.]( Thank you! Flesch reading score

Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
