Then he took CopyHour ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ?

Then he took CopyHour ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ Today, I want to share a story from a copywriter you might know. Rob Allen sent this unsolicited testimonial to me during a CopyHour re-launch. He almost got fired by Ramit Sethi & I Will Teach You To Be Rich... then [he took CopyHour...]( Rob Allen & Pat Flynn "Hey Derek! I've been on your list for quite some time, but never actually told you how much your work meant to me. I'm a former employee of Ramit Sethi's. And when I first started there, I had no idea what I was doing. I was working at a bank when I got the job. I just replied to one of Ramit's emails one day. And he liked my style enough to say, "We like your writing. Want to work for us?" So I quit my job the next day (seriously) and began my career as a copywriter. (This is the part where I'm supposed to say it was all magic and rainbows from there on out). But the truth is... I had no idea what I was signing up for. In the beginning, I struggled a lot. I even got close to being fired. One day, my manager pulled me aside and said, "Look. You've got raw skill, but you are not going to make it here unless you turn things around. You should take this CopyHour course." Of course, I didn't want to get fired. So I dove headfirst into the materials. And slowly but surely, my writing improved. Eventually, I was even allowed to run a few launches. And by the time I left, I was able to get a senior copywriting job at DrAxe.com, where I would really earn my stripes. I'd go on to work with dozens more brands (Agora, Jumpcut and others). I saw you were relaunching the program this week and made me think what would have happened had I never got access to CopyHour? Anyway, I'm really grateful for the work you do and wish you continued success and greatness. - Rob" [Yes! I want to be the next CopyHour success story]( P.S. From Derek: When I say I've trained some of the best copywriters in the world (and I've trained a lot of them), this was the formula: - Read a short lesson on a specific copywriting fundamental. - Spend fifteen minutes, up to one hour, handwriting a single piece of proven copy that uses that fundamental to hard-wire it. - Repeat for 90 days. If you're driven and actually do the work — well, I obviously can't guarantee you any results. But I've seen it produce miracles like Rob's story above. Again, and again, and again. CopyHour is open right now for registrations but I'll be closing the doors on Sunday to devote attention to the new batch of students starting on Monday January 8th. Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
