We just finished up the re-launch of Health CopyHour. And I have good and bad news. Well, mostly good news. If you missed it, there's still a chance to join the course (see below). I don't like going back on deadlines BUT that leads me to the bad-ish news... Overall, the sales numbers for Health CopyHour were good even though we came in slightly under my projection. I'm pretty happy overall. The bad part is that my planning and calendar management is still not anywhere near where I want it to be. I've written and talked about this in the past but a major goal of mine in 2024 is to plan & schedule more... especially when it comes to emails and the time of day they go out. A problem with being your own boss is that sometimes you let yourself off the hook. Or, in my case, there are periods of time where I let my foot off the gas... and I tend to let the day get away from me. I tell myself it's because I'm "flowing" with life but really, it's a sign that I'm not controlling my work hours closely enough. [I don't beat myself up about this stuff anymore either, btw. It's a "quirk" of mine that I've recognized and I'm working with.] Last week during our launch my entire family got sick (yet again) so I was doing all kinds of unexpected child care. My emails were going out too late in the day. Shocker: This happens every year at this time so I should have like... planned for it! I don't want this email to sound like a diary entry but I think there's some valuable lessons for everyone in here. A lot of my coaching students struggle with versions of this problem. This career of copywriting and/or owning an info product business generates a lot of time freedom. But if you don't protect that freedom with planning & scheduling things can derail quickly. I know the lifestyle I've built is better than the alternative but it's something to keep an eye on if you start transitioning away from the rigid 9 to 5. If you're not scheduling work time or business maintenance time or writing time... then somebody else will pop in and fill in that free time for you. Long story short... I meant to send more emails this past week about the Health CopyHour relaunch. I did get a few replies this morning from folks saying they forgot or missed it. So I'll open it back up through tomorrow. The part of this offer I think you'll find particularly interesting (and the part I'm most excited for) is the call I'm going to do LIVE with Randall on how he uses AI. Again, I've really only used it to do some research. Randall is saying he's using AI to research AND write... and he's going to show us how it works live. If you're even slightly interested in the health space... or want to learn how to use AI in copywriting... then you should check this offer out. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
