But only if you ditch the ego

But he's like... a Southern California Doctor. Which is the same as a regular doctor, but very different. We were talking about good Mexican food spots... because that's what you do when you're in San Diego... and I mentioned that I can't eat burritos nearly as much as I could growing up... And without prompting he asked to look at my eyes. So I took my sunglasses off, he looked me over and then said, "You should take this stuff I give my boys. Your digestion is off." The "stuff" he was talking about was a gut health supplement. I took his advice and ordered some not expecting much because he diagnosed a stomach problem by looking in my freaking eyes. But to my surprise... The supplement became an instant game changer for me and my overall digestion. I'm not writing this email to sell you on gut health supps. It's the next part that I thought was interesting. A year ago I wanted to use Randall Pruitt's process for writing health copy so I started doing research on the supplement I took. Problem was I had trouble finding products that were similar. I used it to help with digestion but I quickly realized that the problem it solved for me, is not what it solves for the majority of people. In other words, how I saw the product was not how others saw it. On further research I saw that many other people were drawn to the supplement to help with losing fat & pooping (there's no better way to say it). My first thought was: "Well, that sucks. I don't want to write copy on losing fat and/or pooping, especially." My first thought was about me. It wasn't about them and their thoughts. But by making it about me, I instantly kill the potential impact I could have spreading the word about the product's effectiveness. Only a small fraction of people see their problem as wanting to "improve digestion". Many more see their problem as extra fat and pooping problems (this is probably NOT what you expected when you opened this email). When you make copywriting only about you, you lose. When you focus on your ego/recognition OR your own problems as it relates to your product ("I don't want to write about poop!") instead of the customer's problems, you lose. As you probably know, Randall and I have [opened up Health CopyHour this week at its best price ever.]( If you're even a little bit curious about writing copy for the health market you wont want to miss this launch. We'll bring you up to speed on all the terminology, research hacks and writing "tricks" you need to know in this space. We'll show you the typical structures of winning health copy through modern (and some older) sales letters (VSLs), emails, and advertorials. There's a healthy mix of training + examples (aka swipes) + real world practice. There's also a whole lot 'o opinions about what NOT to focus on. And maybe too many jokes from Derek. Health CopyHour's goal is SPEED so it is not a lengthy, all-encompassing course. We don't want to bore you to death or bog you down with health research. We want to excite and energize you to write winning copy! Excitement and interesting connections are far more important in good health copy than detailed discussions about cell biology, etc. What kind of writer is this right for? Health CopyHour is for mainly for beginners but an intermediate copywriter might find the fastest and biggest wins. An advanced copywriter could use it as a tune-up or to find new and interesting ways to research and write about health "mechanisms". (Don't worry, we'll define "mechanisms" and give examples throughout the course.) You do not need to be a doctor or certified nutritionist, etc. You don't need a whole lot besides an interest in a particular field of health. Again, it's all about being excited! Can you tell I'm excited? Meet Randall Pruitt
