I struggled all morning trying to come up with a story to start this email. I kept writing and writing, trying different little stories that might connect but nothing seemed to hit. So I hopped in the sauna, took my mind off the problem for a few minutes, only to realize with that mental space that this very struggle was the story. You rarely get a good idea while you're doing {the thing}. Your best ideas most often come when you step away from work and clear your mind. For writers this means that you can't (always & easily) write your way into a great idea. In other words there are 2 separate parts of writing. 1. The Idea. 2. The Writing. Some people have lots of ideas but lack the discipline to write. Some people try to write their way into an idea and that can work better than having no discipline -- but this incurs a whole lot of unnecessary struggle. If you want to have better ideas, writing your way into them is not always the best or easiest way. Writing a little less might be a good solution. The point of what I'm getting at here is this: The real trick in life and a copywriting career is taking the great ideas that you get from life experiences away from your desk... ...Taking those ideas and distilling them... grinding them out on the note pad. That's the trick. That's it. If you want a good way to divide your time the 80-20 principle always works. 20% on ideas. 80% on writing. In the beginning it's likely even more heavily skewed towards writing. 4% ideas. 96% writing. I hope this inspires you to take a mental break today! +++++ Now... I'm running a sale on the Anyone Can Get Their First Copywriting Client course. It's a ~2.5 hour-long video course breaking down the 2-pronged method I used to get my very first client. [ Use this link to take 34% off.]( The coupon code is SEPT23. This is an end of September sale so make sure to use that link or code by September 30th. - Derek ----- Sent to: {EMAIL} [Unsubscribe]( CopyHour.com, 340 S LEMON AVE, 5007, WALNUT, CA 91789

The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
