Now, why am I standing in front of this beautiful door? And does this door hold a copywriting secret so powerful you'll be able to get a job using only a certificate issued automatically at the completion of an online course? No. It's not a magic door, ya idiot! This is the front door my wife and I ordered in November 2021. It's finally here... 7 months later. The funny part about this door is, thanks to supply chain issues (or something), it's now worth about $1K more than what we paid for it. So in a way, it does hold a powerful copywriting secret. NEVER buy a "forever home". (An investment home? Sure, that's fine.) I won't be able to extract that $1K difference until I sell in ~20 years. All the money I put into this dump will just sit there when I could be buying crypto. (In seriousness, I'm one of those weirdo crypto true believers so this crash don't phase me none.) The second copywriting lesson to learn is more subtle (and an actual lesson). If I was going door to door selling doors right now... My main lead would be: "Hey, my doors are in stock." Or, if I had an ecomm door shop, my main front and center category would be: "In Stock". Almost everything seems to be back ordered in home construction at the moment. The big takeaway is to stay on top of what's happening in your customer's world. Your leads, lifts, headlines, and ads can and should be fluid to the times. And oh, there's a third lesson. Things like supply and demand and scarcity... they'll always win. Your copy should tap into those forces as early and often as possible. Implement this advice before it's too late.  💵 TODAY'S NEWSLETTER IS BROUGHT TO YOU BY... COPYHOUR INC. Want to sell supplements to senior citizens? J/k. J/k. Copywriting for the health market isn't just about writing for elderly men with bathroom problems. There's a lot of opportunity and fun to be had in the health market if you know where to look. It's also a great market for beginning copywriters to hone in on because of the sheer volume of clients who understand the value of copywriters. There are lots of direct response health companies looking for talented up-and-coming writers. If you're interested, register for the free training webinar I'm hosting next Thursday with health copy A-lister Randall Pruitt:  ☕ HOW TO MAKE COFFEE FOR COPYWRITING - Support your local roasters by buying a bag with a roast date on it. General advice that's not a rule: coffee typically tastes better if consumed within 5-10 days of its roast date. - Buy a grinder and grind the beans yourself right before you brew a cup. It only takes a few seconds. - Brew your coffee with a Chemex or Aeropress. Kuerig's suck at making coffee and they suck for the environment. - Water matters: You're not going to believe me until you try it - good filtered water will make your coffee taste better (and it might save your life). - Temperature matters too. I brew most cups at ~183 degrees. I use Ovalware's Pour Over Kettle. Sent to: {EMAIL} [Unsubscribe]( CopyHour.com, 340 S LEMON AVE, 5007, WALNUT, CA 91789, USA

Flesch reading score

Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
