(John Daly II is the son of the very famous golfer John Daly. Junior is still in college and hasn't even played a professional tourney yet.) Rumor has it that the deal will be worth about 8 million for the Daly's by the time he's a senior. My first thought was: "How the hell can Hooters afford to pay one influencer, who's the son of an infamous golfer this amount over just a few years? Isn't Hooters struggling?" Well, apparently not. With some quick Googling I'm seeing that there are over 430 Hooters in this world. 330 of them are in the US. And the estimated revenue last year was around $500 million. Maybe more. WTF? I guess a large % of people are still loving the chicken wings... yep, it's definitely the chicken wings. Which brings me to a point: Your preferences are not your customer's preferences. Just because you view the world one way, does not mean others view it that way too. We all have a problem with the bubbles we unintentionally lock ourselves in. I haven't driven past a Hooters in years. With the way our culture is headed I figured Hooters were dying out. But actually, Hooters is thriving. According to the CEO their "loyal customer base" helped them weather the pandemic. To really ground this: you likely follow some other copywriters and marketers out there. The way they think and operate works for them & they sell you on that way of thinking. They try to keep you in their bubble so to speak. The truth is, there is no one size fits all approach and that's especially true of email marketing.
