1.5 weeks in. Already hate Twitter ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ Easter Sunday 🐰 Copy Over Coffee ☕ Hey {NAME} -- Happy Easter to you if you happen to celebrate! We did our family egg hunt yesterday so now I'm writing up my weekly copy over coffee newsletter. Which is only 2 days late. I blame me being behind on emails on the bunk beds my wife and I are building for our 4 year old son. And I blame Home Depot Culture (HDC) as always... Anyway... 10 days. That's about how long I lasted using Twitter. And I didn't even post or reply very much. I know this is a "me" problem but man, I just cannot use social media. I know Twitter is a useable and useful platform for many people/marketers but for me, I think the only thing I'll be able to do is "post n' ghost". I don't want to look at replies. I don't want to respond to others. Here's the main reason why: I don't like my voice when I'm writing and responding on Twitter. I can tell that it doesn't sound like a true version of me. My voice sounds angry & more sarcastic on Twitter. I was typing up things within the Twitter post box itself which I think is the big problem. So here's what I think I'm going to do instead. - Write Tweets off of Twitter. Write them by hand with my Apple Pencil like normal. - Post them to Twitter. - Ghost them Tweets. This brings me to a little announcement: If you're a CopyHour member (paid customer) I'm firing up a Discord community so we can all chat and discuss assignments if you'd like. Why Discord and not Slack or something else? Well... I want to keep myself young. Discord is what all the kids are using (for now). I know very little about Discord but I do know it's easy to use, "fun", and NOT Facebook (which is great). So look out for an email tomorrow with an invite to the CopyHour Discord if you're interested in group chats and interaction. Good Promo To Study ✍️ Legacy Research is running this on the Taboola content network. This was written by Austin Lee. I've mentioned Austin several times this past week. He's a financial copywriter (and a CopyHour certified coach). We're creating the Financial CopyHour course together which should be ready for launch in just a few weeks. The formula I use for banners: Attention + Curiosity = Clicks. Attention is drawn by the picture which looks different with the digital background and Jeff Brown's (iconic) white beard. Attention is also drawn by "Early Bitcoin Investor". People pay attention to "authorities". Curiosity is drawn in several ways. The picture says "NFT" and then the text "This Is Bigger" makes you curious. It's a secret. An authority figure is making a prediction. In financial copy, FOMO is a huge driver. People don't want to miss out on the next Amazon or in this case, Bitcoin. How to Make Great Tasting Coffee ☕ - Support your local roasters by buying a good bag of beans with a roast date on it. General advice that's not a rule: coffee typically tastes better if consumed within 5-10 days of its roast date. - Buy a grinder and grind the beans yourself right before you brew a cup. It only takes a few seconds. - Brew your coffee with a Chemex or Aeropress. Kuerig's suck at making coffee and they suck for the environment. - Water matters: You're not going to believe me until you try it - good filtered water will make your coffee taste better (and it might save your life). - Temperature matters too. I brew most cups at ~183 degrees. I use Ovalware's Pour Over Kettle. Sent to: {EMAIL} [Unsubscribe]( CopyHour.com, 340 S LEMON AVE, 5007, WALNUT, CA 91789, USA
